The best iPhone case!

Thanks,
Is the plastic back slipper or feel cheap in anyway? I'm used to grippy TPU

The Tones case is like the Slim Armor...a two material product: polycarbonate back and TPU top and bottom thirds. That is why they call it Tones as in two toned.

However unlike the SA, it is molded into one piece instead of two separate parts. Also, unlike the SA, the Tones polycarbonate back seems to have the standard 'hard coating' applied to the polycarbonate. Without this coating, polycarbonate scratches very easily...and indeed the SA scratches very badly.
The Tones does not.

From Wikipedia
Polycarbonate is a durable material. Although it has high impact-resistance, it has low scratch-resistance and so a hard coating is applied to polycarbonate eyewear lenses and polycarbonate exterior automotive components.

Both the Tones poly back and TPU have a pebble like finish that gives excellent grip. A small number of people think it feels 'cheap'. I, and most, do not. It is the same material used on all cases. If I were to offer an opinion, I'd say that the TPU on the Belkin Candy Sheer feels cheaper to me than the Tones.

One thing I have always liked about the Tones is 1) doesn't scratch and 2) does not show fingerprints. And slides smoothly into pockets.

Love my tones. I even modified it by making the bottom bigger so I can fit the lightning to 30pin adapter. Its slim and gives full protection. Has survived a couple of drops from kid and always retains the same feel as the first day you had it.

Nice Job!

I sanded the 30 pin adapter cable a bit instead. Fits well for all my cases.

Thanks! just ordered a black Tones. I'm excited to hear that it feels thinner than the Belkin Grip Candy. I love my grip candy, its so close to being perfect, in feel and protection, but have just wanted lately a more slimmer case with the same level of quality.

Good luck and I hope you like it. Here is a link to what I did to the Tones after 9 months to make the black/grey darker https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/17558951/

Remember the Tones comes with a 3 year warranty...and if you don't like it, return it. Simple. Also they replaced one for a friend that ripped after 6 months, so the C/S is good.

I've recently gotten the Lifeproof Nuud case for my iPhone 5 and I'm getting a bit frustrated with it. The case is 99% awesome, but that last 1% that isn't very awesome happens to be a pretty important 1%...the phone. Everyone I talk to says I sound like I'm in the trunk of a car. Has anyone else had any of these issues with this case? I'm thinking about calling them and getting a replacement but I don't know if I even want to bother if it's not going to be any different.

Yeah I have a feeling I'll be doing the dye job, as I want it to be as black as possible. Hopefully RIT dye is easy to find around here (i've never seen it in the grocery store), maybe not as well distributed in Canada.

Same in USA. I found it in a drug store and fabric store. Or amazon.

Can you recommend me a case please. My main requirement is for it to be easy to put on and remove because I'm going to use it mainly for when I'm at the gym or out on a run. Oh and obviously it should be quite protective, should cover most if not the whole phone; I don't want to worry I'd get my phone dirty.

I've just received my case from these guys

sizezero.co

Looks and feels amazing, got fed up of a bulky rubber case so I went for something different! Haven't seen anybody do wooden sides before.

Nice ad :/

That's pretty, but not really a case. It's stickers. And really close to zero protection. Especially compared to something like twigcase.com .

Try the Belkin sheer candy grip case.

Is anyone else having issues with the PowerSupport site? I've been trying to place an order for the past couple weeks for their slim bumper case, but every time I go to the site it's down...?

What's anybody's guess on the new 5s Apple leather case?

I think they look very good. Got the Apple logo, which no other case has and I bet the flash works well too. Most cases like this in leather have the case too thick causing flash glare.

Also it covers all 5 sides.

I bought one today and it looks quite nice. Adds very little bulk and weight to the device and offers some protection. For someone that has never used a case on any iPhone such as me I think it represents a good compromise. Don't go out expecting superior leather quality, that would cost a bit more. For what it is, it is nice.

Tech21 Impact Mesh!

I just got a Tech21 Impact Mesh case for my iPhone 5 last night, and I am really bowled over by the attractiveness, fit, hand feel, and apparent protectiveness of this case. It is a little bit bigger than my Candyshell Grip, but not much, but it feels better in the hand. The material is smooth, yet grippy enough that it doesn't feel insecure. The fit is perfect on my iPhone 5. It has just enough lip to have a decent lay on the table design. The button presses are just as good as with my Candyshell Grip--no complaints there. And finally, it looks smashing on my white iPhone 5 (it is a clear light blue color). Love it!
