The transport company I'm familiar with as they came up in my research when I was coordinating a transport of my Z06, they deal with pretty high end vehicles, fully enclosed and temp/humidity controlled.

Wait, I've got a fun pic (it's not the new GT) ...

If you ever travel somewhere that has Silvercar as a rental car company

USE IT
Lol, they just popped up on my Facebook news feed. Not in Boston yet, but I would love to try them out. A loaded silver A4 sounds better than any crap that Enterprise and Hertz will give me as a "standard" car.

Any Dodge drivers here? I currently have a Charger as a rental.
My mom had one once a few years ago as rental. She hated it. I believe one of the comments was "I believe it comes with a tramp stamp". That said, it wasn't as bad as the Ford Escort loaner she was forced into after getting t-boned 2 weeks after buying a new Audi Allroad (back in 2001). She started to cry! (Okay... it was like the same week as 9/11 so she was probably overly emotional anyways).

Barely works over USB with my BMW.
Don't get me started. Every update seems to to cause more and more problems with iDrive. Last week I found myself so tired of screwing around I just used the 3.5mm jack for audio.

MMmmmmmmmmm

Oh, hahaha, to be clear, I was just showing that pic for the killer transport and how they deal with wide/low cars - that's a long gone ride of mine :)

I think it's more iOS 9's fault. I can't get my iPhone to play nice with most infotainment systems these days. Barely works over USB with my BMW. I'm using Spotify and the iDrive screen will display music information from the iPod app and the steering wheel controls almost never work correctly.

It downright refuses to work on MOPAR, Honda, Benz, and Toyota cars.

Works great with Hyundai/KIA and Ford products for some reason.

Had no issues over Bluetooth in the RAV4, Entune is barebones honestly but it's foolproof

Back when my mom got T-boned in her new Buick back in June(or whenever it was) they initially gave her a Pathfinder as a rental but swapped it out for a Chrysler 200(comparable size class). She hated the thing.

With that said, I have a good friend who has a Challenger the the 5.7 Hemi and absolutely loves it. I've ridden several hundred miles with him in the car(we go to watch shows together) and the selective cylinder shut-down is really phenomenal. You can't feel it(he told me when it was happening, and I still couldn't tell) and really saves a lot of gas on the interstate when you only have 4 cylinders pushing the car. As I understand it, the engine just closes all the valves and uses the air in them as a "cushion" to avoid it running like the old GMs from the 80s with selective shut-off.

Acura, Cadillac fall the most in Consumer Reports' Reliability Survey

Can't believe "reliable" automakers like Infiniti/Acura/Cadillac are actually pretty terrible and Audi is #3. The highest ranked Euro maker... ABOVE Honda, Subaru, etc.
Reliability ratings cycle based on when you introduce new features. For example, Audi tanked when they were the first to adopt the 2.0T as their main A4 engine choice. Acura is tanking with the new ZF 8 speed auto which is completely terrible.

Cadillac is still just bad.

I think most of the issues are coming from the ZF 9 speed (like with Jeep)/8 speed DCT, and the new various infotainment systems Honda has introduced recently.

Infiniti and Cadillac are just... terrible.

I can't believe we're in an era where Kias and Buicks are statistically more "reliable" than Hondas/Acuras/Nissan/Infiniti. It's just crazy!

It's not terrible, which is probably the best endorsement I could give to a rental car. I could've picked much worse cars from the National lot. I wouldn't buy one in a million years, but I would not be upset if I got one as a rental again.

I have no brand loyalty and love everything, but this list looks like BS. Not to mention, the vehicles-are-appliances CR poindexters don't seem to understand the difference between an actual problem and an inconvenience/annoyance. They historically have sacked manufacturers just because the infotainment sucks, when that has nothing to do with reliability.

I love Audi (may replace the 5.0 with an A3 sedan) but #3 in reliability to Honda's #8 or Nissan's #15? Acura at #18? Porsche should be above Audi too. One American brand in the entire top 15? America by and large hasn't built junk for quite some time. My Ford feels bulletproof like I could romp on it all day, but my wife's VW (great car that it's been) feels fragile as hell to drive. This list is pure crap. The basic premise of a "predicted reliability" chart is suspect on its best day to begin with.

I think it had more to do with the image more than anything. I had a Dodge Caliper once when my Jeep was in the shop. That was THE WORST car I can ever remember driving. There was literally nothing good about that car. Not a single redeeming quality. Uncomfortable, ugly as sin, slow, thirsty, poor ergonomics, loud, etc... And quite honestly embarrassing to be seen in, primarily because 'why would anyone buy that car'. Hahah.

@AutoUnion39 those reliability ratings are interesting. JEEP is at the bottom! (Though there are some companies missing from that list). I am however curious the test methods here. I quickly skimmed the article and it sounds these results apply to brand new vehicles. I would potentially say in that case this is more of a "build quality" thing- if we're talking about squeaks, rattles, leaks, software problems, etc- which the article does mention. I don't think a year of ownership and 10,000 miles provides much insight into the actual reliability of the car- unless you're witnessing lots of mechanical problems right off the bat.

Not to mention, the vehicles-are-appliances CR poindexters don't seem to understand the difference between an actual problem and an inconvenience/annoyance. They historically have sacked manufacturers just because the infotainment sucks, when that has nothing to do with reliability.
Yeah I hate CR. You have to be very careful in assessing the standards on how they assess things. Oftentimes cost is a substantially important factor that they will weigh heavily in their decision making, even if it's a couple thousand on a $50,000. I've had a past rant here how their medication reviews are almost always solely based on cost- not the most appropriate medication and balance of side effects. And most people have insurance and a prescriber, who the real dictators anyways.

Y-Spoke wheels are just plain awesome. They can work on something like the Mustang but it works on applications like Mercedes (W205 C63 AMG) and BMW (E9X M3 w/ Competition Pack).

Yeah, they're a favorite design of mine - heck, the GT Perf Pack is almost worth the wheel (and tire) upgrade :D

You're totally right they work well for so many different makes and models.

I'd go with these:

They're off the Ford Escort. I think they're a better look IMO.

I always wanted a set of these ...

Here's an excerpt from the Review of the Lexus 200 NX
Source: http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2015/01/infotainmnent-system-fails-on-consumer-reports-2015-lexus-nx/index.htm

"Most Lexus models for which we have data offer superb reliability. (Our reliability Ratings are based strictly on subscriber data.) But we’ve also seen high numbers of complaints about infotainment systems from several automakers. In particular, more than one in five Infiniti Q50 sedan owners reported a problem with their InTouch system."

But here's the first review of the Lexus 200 NX, which was positive review.

Are you going to keep posting 200 NX nonsense or are you finally gonna buy one? :)

Btw, it's the NX200. Not 200 NX. This would be like saying Carrera 911. Makes no sense.

;)

Now, to get things back on track:

It looks like Tesla might be getting some competition from Aston Martin with the RapidE. I can only imagine the price tag. It will also have to contend with the Porsche Mission E.
So Aston, out with the V12, in with the 1000hp Electric Engine.

Meh, I don't believe Aston has it in them to do anything worthwhile like this concept. They've been making the same outdated cars for over a decade now.

The next big electric players we're gonna see are Porsche and Audi.

Having spent the past week sorting out mundane things like headlights and reverse lights, I'm not sure I'd trust a British brand with a 100% electric car! :)

Ari, you and I both share a mutual love for British cars, but electric components have always been their undoing.

Point taken. Oh yes that right it's the Lexus nx200.thank you for the clarification. I appreciated that. Thanks so much everyone that has answered my questions here on the car thread. I greatly appreciate your help, too. :)
