Someone is clearly still upset like really dude... You gonna go back all the way back to Jun to try and discredit my argument

And then you do this:
image.png

Like dude... You need to get laid, if that's impossible to do on your own... Let me know.. I'll PayPal you some money to make it happen

For the record... I'm not necessarily a fanboy. Me personally I think the C Class MB is the best sedan on the market... I would buy one if I could fit in one... That being said, in terms of driving dynamics the ATS is a superior sedan despite a few quirks (tranny)

Difference between me and you is... If we both had to pick a sedan in that class... And correct me if I'm wrong... I'm making a pretty big assumption here lol

Your pool of choices would be: 3 series, C class, A4

Mine would be: 3 series, C class, A4, & ATS

I'm not gonna discredit a car... Mind you a superior car in some ways because of the badge on the hood or resale value... Other things comes to mind like suppleness of the leather, or the warranty, how stylish the wheels are, engine technology... Crap like that

All you care about is the badge and:
image.jpeg

My point is... I'm not the fanboy.... You are!!!

I have no further interest in being immature and perpetuating this argument for the time being... If it makes you feel comfortable with life so you can sleep at night... You win by default

I went away for a couple days and everyone got mad at each other

I guess that's what happens when randos come in here and start attacking people (like MM)

But what do I know? I'm just a "sucker" and "sheep." Apparently I have a small package due to my choice in transportation too.

Moving on

Anyone else feel like they want to like the Subaru BRZ... But it's just too Damn slow?

It's not a bad look either:
image.jpeg

The ass end could be sharper though but I really want to like this car but a Civic Turbo with a CVT (just read that) is just as fast.

I'm sure the handilng is buttery smooth but that boxer needs some balls...

Normally I don't bother with cars of that size.. I'm a not too big guy but I got stuck inside of a 370Z lol

I really want a inexpensive track car and this tops the list, so does the S2000 with a Cayman at the higher end along with higher cost

But it's hard to justify buying an S2000 when the BRZ is pretty much a modern day S2k

I'm just thinking out loud on what would be the ideal affordable track/autocross car... Anyone else want to chime in

That is unpossible because I have both a German car and an American car.

Negative! I have two German cars and we all know German cars reign supreme! muahahahaahaha :p

Nope. I'm actually glad that Suburu and Toyota came out with the car in its exact spec. Could it use a bit more horsepower? Sure but the Toyoburu twins are great because they're not fast if that makes any sense. They are pure chassis cars where the best parts of the car is the manual transmission and rear wheel drive.

I get people love horsepower and torque and I'm not saying my R56 non-S is anything special, but it made me appreciate cars more in its simplest form where it really is all about the driving and not about the features/options. I love my E90 but if I want to get out of the city and just drive, I'm taking the MINI 9/10 times even if it is FWD.

I think if the Toyota/Suburu twins had 270 HP, it would be enough for the purpose of the car. It doesn't need crazy amount of power, but definitely wish it had more to go along with its fantastic chassis.

Not to be rude, but we own the car and I ride in it, AND I detailed the buttons, so I know what they are like and why they might have melted. Pressing a button with one's finger could have made things worse, but the initial melting and tar-like feel of the plastics was a result of heat and lack of oxygen. Remember, this is an air-tight car whose windows consist of two separate panels stuck together. Even the rubber bits that were never touched (because not all of the plastics coated with rubber are buttons) became sticky. Pressing them agitated them, yes. The worst-looking ones were those that were often pressed; but the sticky feeling, from the beginning, was a result of something else.

As for driving, this car isn't super practical, but it's much easier to deal with when one knows what he's doing. We've owned ours since 2006, so we're learned how exactly it should be driven and how we should maintain it. Newbies would drive these cars and either immediately burn their clutches or return the cars to the dealer... or both. For the sake of the clutch, we only drive it in manual mode, since the semi-auto mode is even less practical and causes more clutch wear when not driven correctly.

However, in spite of the fact that it has some issues, it's still an incredible car. The reason why we still have it is because it's so pleasurable to drive. It's a car to keep a lifetime. Also, given the specific model, it's way to special to give up.

I hate to keep talking about my MG(actually forget that, I love talking about it) but that's one of the endearing charms about it.

Effectively, it's driving in about as pure of a form as you can get. When you get a car whose feature list includes "roll up windows", "windscreen wipers and washers", "heater" and "interior door handles" you have recognize that there's not much you can do in the car but drive it.

And, yes, it puts a big smile on my face every time I get in it :) . That lasts from the moment I fiddle with getting the choke knob to stay locked in the on position while I'm listening for the fuel pump ticking to stop ticking to the time I shut it off. About the only time I loose the smile is when I'm using my 4 oz. ball peen to tap one of the float bowls to get a float valve to shut or(before I put in electronic ignition) when I was messing with points on the side of the road. Oh, and creeping in traffic in 90º+ weather.

I'm curious why you're considering of these cars... especially since you are an Audi TT-RS owner

That's a mighty fine car mate! I wish I had one.

I'm not sure which is worse, denying basic chemistry and its affects on ABS plastics and tooting your horn at superiority because you detailed a car but in all reality aren't very clever at all or getting caught trolling German cars when you may or may not own a fabulous coupe by Audi.

Sundays are a riot.

Is Vilano Beach that scenic? The days of cruising/driving beautiful areas of the state here are over. There's too much traffic and with the advent of internet and or social media, it's even worse. Once prized areas for spirited driving are now taken over by anyone with a license and fast car.

There was a lull in desert communities where local police couldn't afford the flight time of running helicopters to ticket motorists. Because really, the county in charge of Death Valley really believed they were helping save people's lives when there was a car crossing that segment of road every 50 minutes alone... With the advent of drones, they can be in the air for hours at a time.

Christ, I sound bitter.

The 86/FRS/BRZ could do with more power and torque. It's a great platform but it really needs more from the factory than the pittance the Japanese gave it. If they really want to perform against the Germans, they need to put more power into their cars.

I'm a bit confused. I'm roughly 6'4 and fit fine in the TT of that generation provided the seat is lowered and put back, with the steering adjusted to compensate. Getting out isn't easy, but fitting in it is fine. I'm no fan of Audi, but they borrowed some Japanese black magic when it came to interior room on the little car. I've heard of people much taller than me, nearing 6'7 fitting into the 2nd generation TT. The new and current generation is supposedly even roomier.

I was putting the hard top on my Jeep and braking the back glass again

Ouch. Hope you didn't cut yourself!

It's safety glass so it breaks into squares but I did swear a lot

The glass is only $250 plus $60 for shipping but its money I didn't really want to spend especially twice in 3 years.

Toyota and BMW have been working on a sportscar together. The BMW Z5 and the Toyota equivalent (Supra probably) should solve their concerns.

It is ridiculous how everyone has been complaining about the BRZ's lack of power for years, yet they don't do anything to solve that.

I think this is a common trend with German cars. They tend to be (slightly) taller, so all their models are designed with that in mind.

Even something like a Golf feels more roomy to me than a Civic or Mazda3. The seat has a larger range of motion.

The 5er is what I expected based on the more realistic and renders I've seen on BMW blogs and forums. Evolutionary, can't be angry because the F10 was a very handsome car. The only thing I'm weary about is the rear. Had the same feelings about the G11 7er but in person it worked really well. Hopefully the rear of the G30 is the same. But the only thing I really care about is how it drives and the improvements in that area over the F10. The F10 was not a bad car if you wanted luxury and comfort but it definitely strayed away from driving even though it was tiny bit more driver-focused than the E-Class and A6. I can't wait until I can book a test drive.

Did you drop it? Jeeps are _super_ popular around here, and the few folks I know in my neighborhood with hardtops, keep them on a winch/pulley setup, pretty cool, can be installed by one person. They just hang in the garage above the cars when they're not in use (most folks drive them totally open)

*sigh*

Yeah, it's not as nice as it used to be around here, we're kind of busting at the seams, the "tourist season" used to be summer and right around Christmas, it's slow expanded to where there's just a few months where there's mostly local traffic. My whole area of operation is under 10 miles, but even in those short distances, the drivers are horrible, lost, there's horses, tour trains ... filling with rage just thinking about it ...

Anyway, there are still some fun driving around here, especially along A1A south of us.

I thought the BRZ twins were done after this year anyway. They really should've done the 315HP turbo boxster motor like was purported to be in develop.

F10 => G10 -- I see no difference apart from some minor body styling updates. Did the G10 get new engines because the F10 was plagued with issues.

G30 is an all-new chassis with the carbon core from the new 7 and i3/i8. Early prototype drives have said it drives almost as well as the E60 and E39.

New engines... Not because of issues, just time for replacement. The new 2.0T is already in the 2017 F30 330i. The new turbo-6 came last year in the 340i. Now the 5 will be 530i/540i/550i.
