Is APR the company that sells turnkey through dealers? As a result, if it's purchased/installed through the right channel, it's covered by warranty?

Some dealers will flash APR software and install hardware, but I've taken all my VWs and Audis to New German Performance (NGP) in Lorton, VA. Great place. Even if my local VW or Audi dealer did any performance stuff, I wouldn't trust them when it comes to warranty issues. There's too many outs I think for them, and I wouldn't blame them otherwise. Was hoping to hold off until the warranty was up, but I miss the extra power my R had already.

Woohoo, part shipped.

I actually preferred the idea of having the two ports in the center, auto-locking console - I frequently use a USB drive and my phone at the same time, and that usually means I pull out the USB drive to stash it (convertible ... top always down
biggrin.gif
) Plus, anything in that front port makes the little storage tray underneath a little less usable.

I ordered the dual port yesterday, plus I ordered this, pretty slick, it sits almost flush, so doesn't take up any space:

Going to run a power only extension from the front port to the above charging adapter in the console accessory power port.

So at the end of the install I should have 2 console ports that provide data + power, and a 3rd front port that's charge only (handy for "guest charging" where you don't really want data access anyway).

I have the same one in my car. Fits very flush, and no issues so far.

We're already close to the 20% mark on 2017s...

Plus this new fantastic news from Autoline Daily:

http://www.autoline.tv/journal/?p=46594

General Motors is going to temporarily lay off 10,000 employees as it idles 5 assembly plants for up to three weeks due to high inventory levels. All of the vehicles affected by this are passenger cars. Most of GM’s truck, SUV and crossover assembly plants are running on overtime to keep up with demand as the market continues to shift away from cars.

The highest inventory level is with the Chevrolet Camaro, which has 177 day’s worth of inventory sitting on dealer lots.

Cool, thanks for the additional thumbs up. It's kind of an optional thing with my install, but for ~$8, why not!

The original Lexus Graphite Gray Pearl is still the reference for dark, metallic grays.

Thank you for the enlightenmrmt and speaking of the Dark metallic gray I wasn't able to locate Nebula metallic gray with a "J" on the VIN, Those were already claimed by a Lexus dealership as loaners.

Not sure I'm following the letter J, the VIN, loaners ... ?

The J's are made in Japan if I remember correctly. Most new ES350's in America are made in Kentucky I believe.
I prefer K vin cars. Made with love in Korea by Daewoo

Wow, that's nuts. 177 days worth of inventory? How poorly managed is this company...

I've been looking for something like this. Does it output 2+ amps to both ports at the same time?

Amazon had a 20% coupon for most Chemical Guy products, picked up a bunch of fresh detailing supplies, including a new bucket :D

... but check it out, how fun is this?

Yes! The specs say 2 x 2.4a and they have some other slightly larger adapters with quick charge some other features, but I was interested in this since it sits [more or less] flush.

Thank you so much for the clarification! I am so happy to hear this information.

Would this count as a mod for the Car Mod Thread?!

Lol.

Sorry that my response wasn’t very clear earlier.

When I was in the process of buying the ES350, I wanted one that was made in Japan ES because Toyota had started making some ES’s in Kentucky plant. If a car’s VIN starts with a “J”, it’s made in Japan. If a VIN starts with a 4 or a 5 or a 1, then it was made in America. There wasn’t very many ES’s left with a VIN that starts with a “J” available.

The sales guy that I dealt was terrible and I made sure not to buy the car from him, he was really new a Lexus. He was trying to pressure me that car ASAP. So, I went looking for a new sales person. I’m happy I did that. Don’t worry about that loaner part, it’s no telling what was really going on with the sales guy. I just think he was trying his best to make me buy that car as quickly as possible.

Here’s a link about Toyota making the ES350 in Kentucky.

I got all that, I was just baffled about, "Hey you like a gray color! I was looking for a J-prefix VIN and it was gray!" :D

Wow, all the additional customization cited in the article is crazy.

I just learned how to turn off the AC on my ES350 this past weekend. I had to click menu button and then select the climate icon on the screen, then select the three little dots on the bottom right the screen. Then you will be about turn off the AC function, so that you can then use the heater function. I'm happy, I learned that. :D
You do not need to turn off the A/C to use the heater! It is climate control, the car controls when the A/C is needed. I leave it on all the time as it means the car will de-mist fast (and stay dry inside in the winter) and also means the A/C is used so it does not dry up and have issues. I just leave everything on auto.

The latest Suburban uses EPS. Yeah what he is experiencing is lane assist feature( and it is also the collision alert).

Maybe if he could stay in his lane he wouldn't get a vibration on the seat or maybe used the turning signal when changing lanes it wouldn't turn on.... :p

Oh, no, I stay in my lane well and always use my blinkers. (People in my city, for some reason, have a hard time doing those two things.) I haven't been zapped for any of that. The vibrator comes on for any warning, so if you are backing up and are approaching an object, the seat rattles a couple times. It's more or less precautionary. I've found that it vibrates when I'm not even too close to an object while backing up.

I _finally_ took some time today and installed my splash guards, the front at least (easier than the rear and don't require removing the wheels). Super easy, good fitment, pretty good texture match to the OEM side skirts.

Although I still REALLY want a BMW 640gc, I am not able to justify the costs right now. I am going to go look at a certified 2014 Audi A6 3.0 (supercharged) Prestige with Driver Assistance and Cold Weather packages. It has almost 45k on it which is my biggest concern, but it is certified with warranty to 6 years or 100k. Anyone have any thoughts in the C7 Audi A6? Anything to look for? It will be 15k cheaper than the 640's I am looking at, so that is a lot of money in pocket!

New hub delivered early this morning (after it disappeared from tracking for 24 hours), a day late but nice and early today (before I left for a workout).

60 second install, *boom*, I have Car Play. It's terrific.

[doublepost=1482591983][/doublepost]Some new supplies too :D

There's not much to look for. They're solid, but I would hold off for a newer one. Audi swapped the older MMI for a newer LTE-based one last year and even added CarPlay/Android Auto.

Now on rear wheel drive car #7 (3 with open rear diffs and 4 with limited slip diffs), and always getting around fine on all seasons, I finally decided it was time for real snow tires. I have a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3s which are an ultra high performance all season that have been fine for two winters, but now at 5/32nds they simply don't cut it.

Shelled out the $1400 for a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2s which finally were put on this morning. Bagged the Michelins and hope to get one more summer out of them.

RWD + limited slip + Hakkas = utterly unstoppable

tires >>> drive wheels
