I’m open to all paint schemes. Metallics are nice. I have always opted for black primarily, it just draws me in. Although, future color considerations for my next sports car would be purple, orange, blue, ect. The red on your Miata has a Nice tone. ( I really like the new crimson red on the 2018 Mustang as a secondary color.)

The one fail-safe color for me if undecided is white. To me, nothing looks better than a clean white car with a nice set of wheels. See @SandboxGeneral new MKZ for a great example of This.
No to white. It's a nightmare to keep clean. My wife's car is white.

I actually find that to be the opposite experience for me. I had a white Ford Fusion before and now a white MKZ (a Race Red Ford Focus in between them) and to me, white shows a hell of a lot less dirt than some darker colors at a distance. Unless you're out mudding of course.

Black is probably the worst, but my wife's Kia gets very dirty when it barely moves. You end up with dirty lines when it rains underneath the wingmirrors and door handles.
Also it has a few little chips that show up. I should probably get them dealt with.

I wonder if that might be due to the aerodynamic design of the car. Just the way the air and rain/dirt moves across the body when moving. Kind of like how some vehicles used to whistle as it went down the road.

I remember in the 1990's a certain type of vehicle would whistle. I don't recall exactly what it was, but maybe the Ford Explorer or Ranger, or maybe the Dodge Ram's. I really don't remember anymore, but I do remember they would whistle when they drove by the house and I was outside.

It's a Kia Picanto. I don't think it's designed at all! ;)

I like colours personally. Bright blues in particular. I'm not a big fan of monochrome colours. It would be very difficult for me to buy a black, white, or grey car. Silver i can just about tolerate if its a metallic or pearl finish.

I'm not a big fan of all-black wheels either. Black inserts is fine but prefer brighter finishes. Most of the wheel design is lost in all-black finishes.

It's been a while, but I have sad news to report: my 2015 Honda Fit EX is no more, sadly destroyed in an side collision. :( But I did get a replacement, a certified used 2016 Scion iM (neé Toyota Corolla iM) with only 19,000 miles on the odometer. It's actually a nice car, with a superb air conditioner and way better ride quality than my Fit.

I’m thinking of getting an Accord touring Hybrid, but I keep hearing how hybrids are “boring to drive”. I tested one and found the tech to be fascinating. I enjoyed driving it, but it was brief. Have you ever had a hybrid long term and how did you like it?

Ive driving a a few Lexus hybrids. They have decent economy for stop-go traffic since you can use the electric motor, and they are good highway cruisers. You also don’t have to plug-in to charge.

Forget about spirited driving though. Unless you’re getting a Lexus LC, NSX, or La Ferrari

Basically the goal is to get you from A-B and not much else.

I've owned quite a few cars in what I'd call the "gray scale", i.e., black/gray/silver/white (though a few times with a spectacular red interior), and a few in big bold colors (yellow/red) and I'm about 98% sure my next ride will NOT be in the gray scale, the current one is black, like the Nth car in that color I said I wouldn't own again :D In fact, I'm already shopping around a little for a possible replacement, and black is DEFINITELY off the list.

Oh wow, I'm assuming everyone was OK?

Yes, hybrids are not exactly designed for "spirited" driving. But within that context, another hybrid model I'd seriously consider is the 2019 Honda Insight, now a sedan based on the current Honda Civic model.

And yes, I was okay from the accident. My Fit was hit right at the right rear door, and damage was bad enough (it bent the frame) the car was a total loss. :(

One of my friends just purchased a new Insight. If it were my money, I'd spend the extra $2-3k and get the larger Accord/Camry hybrid.

Similar fuel economy with more power and better refinement. The Insight is loud.

In the second day of an 8 day car rental out of DIA. An infiniti sedan of some sort. First time I’ve driven one. Will be interested to see how it handles the mountains on my way over the Divide today.

More HP in the Camry and Accord hybrids, so hopefully the engines don't have to thrash as much. To me, the Camry looks better than the Accord and hopefully they update the infotainment for '19. That Scout stuff seems annoying and no CarPlay. I wouldn't buy the Camry for that reason alone. Accord has ventilated seats; Camry no. But Camry has a donut spare vs Accord's inflator kit.

Just a few ‘teaser’ shots of my 14 GT California Special:D.

[The below two photo’s were the only two that loaded successfully on Macrumors. In actuality, the other photos that I wanted to load along with the information from the ‘before and after’ modifications I did to my GT would not load due to the ‘Image Being to Large for the server.’ I will have to reformat those pictures and load them later with the info of everything I did.

Turns out my rental ride is a ‘18 Q50 3.0t AWD. Drove into the central Rockies and back from Denver, with some two-lane travel on old Hwy 6, but mostly on the interstate.

Handles quite well, plenty of power, and rides nicely. However, it doesn’t have that sense of being ‘glued to the road’ like my old Audi or Jetta. And, unfortunately, like most turbos I’ve driven, it has a small but noticeable lag.

The UI is not what I’d call intuitive, but I’m sure I could get used to it if I had it longer than the rental period.
They also had a convertible Camaro available, but I wasn’t willing to pony up quite that much extra cash. :D

Anyway, I found the manual - unopened, of course - with the spare tire, and plan on actually reading the sections that relate to the UI. Maybe it will make more sense to me.

The only adjustment I’ve made is to set the bass and treble back from max to flat. Sounds better now.

Wish it had CarPlay, though. Sigh. :(

That look mean! I drive a 2018 Mustang GT PP No mods yet, well, besides an oil separator and changed all the internal bulbs.

A couple of great tuners in your area (as well as the big vendors that can do remote/email tunes). E85 tunes on the MY18+ are resulting in incredible numbers, with if course, the usual concern with tunes (warranty, etc.), but a tune plus intake and catted headers, you're looking at ~530-540HP.

A10 or M6? Now with the Perf Pack being offered with an auto you have to ask :D

A10, 460HP. I love the Active Exhaust.

When one takes an interest in old cars, one also tends to accumulate parts.

I don't have any immediate use for this, but this once common part is getting difficult to find. When it became available, I jumped on it for future use.

This is NOT actually an MG part, although it will fit an MGB. It was once a common drop-on upgrade for 1975 and later MGBs.

I'll test folks obscure knowledge, and ask if anyone knows what car this 40lb+ chunk of cast iron is off of...

That look mean!.

It most certainly is.:D It doesn’t even look like the same car from when it was from the factory (Its more like a GT500 in aesthetics with some engine mods) . Its Entirely different from when I first purchased it. I’m still reformatting the other pictures, I will have those uploaded relatively soon with details on the changes.

I saw your 2018 in the other car thread, its awesome. The 2018 S550 really made a a huge difference over the 15/16/17 models with the front end changes (Hood/headlamps/front bumper), quad tipped exhaust and the ten speed makes the 2018 a unique experience by itself.

I’m Glad you mentioned the oil separator for your Mustang, that’s something else I want to add and it’s an easy modification to install in minutes. JLT makes a reputable brand.

Turned the Q50 back to Alamo this morning. A nice enough car, but to paraphrase a C&D review, it tries to be both a luxury car and a sports sedan, and doesn’t quite do either well.
In fairness, it is the stripped version, and missing some features that I’d have to have if I owned one.
But in terms of driving, I was underwhelmed.
Call me crazy, but next rental I’ll go for a Mustang or Camaro.
