Overall thoughts since my ownership:

The 5.0 Coyote experience alone is worth everything about this car. The way this car handles, exhaust notes, everything is tight and there is no rattles or squeaks, fit and finish is superb. I really think the 13/14 GT year was a strong year for the Mustang in terms of cosmetics with the S197 body style and overall drivetrain. I’m a fairly particular person when it comes to my cars, and there really isn’t anything I would change about this car, with the exception I don’t have CarPlay, but its certainly not a priority when I’m purchasing a performance car.

When I do sell this car, I think my next Mustang will be a GT350.

Turned the Q50 back to Alamo this morning. A nice enough car, but to paraphrase a C&D review, it tries to be both a luxury car and a sports sedan, and doesn’t quite do either well.
In fairness, it is the stripped version, and missing some features that I’d have to have if I owned one.
But in terms of driving, I was underwhelmed.
Call me crazy, but next rental I’ll go for a Mustang or Camaro.

I realize some people "need" X, but want "Y", so some vehicles provide that sort of hybrid experience, buts generally my outlook on vehicles, get something that's superlative in its category, or at least, does what the category _should_ do. In my mind, and SUV should have X amount of capability for passengers, towing, hauling, heck, I almost think 4WD is a requirement for the label.

As we say here in America - Badass!

Agreed. Seems odd to me that there are vehicles described as SUVs without 4WD. Or at least AWD.

This gets me so angry. So many BMW drivers look for a X3 and X5 but want it in RWD. Baffles me. I'm surprised BMW even offers such an option. A SUV should be AWD. Period.

Right? For a brief moment, I considered the Acura MDX Sport Hybrid, neat, DCT transmission, perky, great mileage around town, seats 6 ... tow capacity? 0, as in none. It's an AWD sport sedan with an extra 4" of ground clearance :D (and there are =sedans= with more tow capacity ...!)

i have owned a series of sportbikes and can appreciate a certain Honda s2000 ap1 for autoX but we down sized and moved back into the city.
work is 3 miles away
walk to the grocery store(s)
a Buffalo Exchange shop just dwn the road too

when the right EV comes along we are ready to buy.
a nice web site to start research along these lines:

@Relentless Power - the car looks fantastic, and I look back very, very, very fondly on mine. Best car I ever owned hands down. Like yours, mine had zero and I mean ZERO squeaks or rattles all the way through to when I traded it at 41k miles. Tightest car I ever owned, hands down. Dead reliable too.

My '16 is still very solid, going on 3 years old, combined with tight (partially aftermarket) suspension and being a convertible, I would've suspected a little more looseness :) I'm generally pretty impressed with what Ford offers in the Mustang (esp. the GT) for the market segment.

My thoughts exactly. The car is just pure Brawn, it doesn’t have any rattles before or after the suspension tweaks either. Even with the loud exhaust set up, I’m impressed with the sound deadening inside the cabin with the windows up as well. Its just difficult to compete against the S197 body style, it just has the ‘Muscle’ car appeal in so many aspects. Hopefully you will have the chance to pick another one up, I found mine clean with low miles and and its been a pleasure driving/modifying it Over the last six months.

If you pick up another S197/Mustang, hopefully those evil squirrels don’t come back.

Do you think Genesis has a good future in the US?

Definitely not. The G70 is just another "3 series killer" that will fail to make a dent in BMW's sales.

Add it to the long list of also-rans in this segment (Acura TLX, Jaguar XE, Cadillac ATS, Volvo S60, Infiniti Q50, Kia Stinger, Alfa Romeo Giulia)

The upcoming 3 series is going to be interesting given what I've read in recent weeks. Which admittedly isn't much since I haven't had much free time to sit down and veg out.

The problem with BMW & Audi is it's difficult to get common options at a reasonable price. If you want adaptive cruise, for example, you have to go to the most expensive trim level and then buy another expensive option. Same for ventilated seats, which you can even find in a $35,000 Accord or even Kia.

A number of missteps went into screwing up the Genesis brand.

Fun.

So... I stopped at a ‘Midweek meet up’ and the most ‘Rare’ car there was this Chevy SS Sedan in ‘Slipstream blue.’ [1/69 produced in this color.] 6,000 miles/one owner/clean and a *Manual*. (Which are very difficult to find over the automatics).

The owner actually executed a complete badge conversion to have it resemble the ‘Holden Commodore’, even though it reflects the ‘SS’ branding on the interior seats and passenger dashboard area.

Full exhaust and it sounded perfect.

The best part, was his license plate said “Slow Four door Sedan.” (Of course it was more condensed than that for numeric fitment on the Plate.)

I did ask if he was willing to sell it, in which he said he would always keep it no matter the offer. So these cars do have a history with some owners.

An SS with a manual. Awesome.
I’ve looked at these at various times, but not sure I’d want a discontinued model.
Sad to see this V8 sedan leave the market, but Chevy/Holden apparently just didn’t sell enough to make it worth keeping in the lineup. It is such a sleeper.

FYI.

It was introduced in 2016 as a new color, 2 year production run numbers:

2016 PRODUCTION

294 Slipstream Blue

55 with sunroof, inflator and automatic
35 with sunroof, inflator and manual
92 with sunroof, spare and automatic
69 with sunroof, spare and manual
9 with no sunroof, inflator and automatic
9 with no sunroof, inflator and manual
7 with no sunroof, spare and automatic
18 with no sunroof, spare and manual

2017 Production

460 Slipstream Blue Metallic

75 with sunroof, inflator and automatic
37 with sunroof, inflator and manual
167 with sunroof, spare and automatic
113 with sunroof, spare and manual
14 with no sunroof, inflator and automatic
8 with no sunroof, inflator and manual
18 with no sunroof, spare and automatic
28 with no sunroof, spare and manual

So 754 total cars in Slipstream Blue, I suppose it's possible the owner (which is where I'm assuming that stat came from), might have been talking about the item highlighted in red - the car clearly has a sunroof and was - per your post - a manual, though the kind of rarity that requires such a granular reading of production details makes me sort of chuckle ... I mean, there's a 104 MY16 with a sunroof and a manual if the combine the cars with a spare vs. an inflator kit :D

"It's the most rare 2016 Black Mustang because the window sticker was put on upside down ... !" :D

Which are very difficult to find over the automatics)

From looking at these/shopping for them pretty extensively, I'm not sure that I'd agree with this statement.

The numbers @D.T. posted for one particular color seem to reflect what I've seen-it's a pretty even split between the two.

You’re right, the V8 market is fading and has been for quite sometime. Interestingly enough, exactly one year ago I was considering buying a Chevy SS sedan in ‘Regal Peacock Green’ (Long before I knew they would be discontinued). The other contender which I did Purchase was actually a white Ford Taurus SHO. When I was talking with the owner of the Slipstream blue Chevy SS, the whole time I kept thinking ‘Maybe I should have bought the SS sedan instead’. Seeing the SS in pictures does absolutely nothing, once you see this car in person, it has such an aggressive stance the way it sits stock from the factory and it really is a ‘stand out’ sedan for those who are more car oriented to appreciate it.

I mentioned it before, but I asked the owner if he would be willing to sell the blue SS sedan and of course he replied he would not, but if he had said yes; I would have sold my SHO (But not my GT :D) to have his car, I was even willing to put a decent sum down payment to hold it if I thought I could provoke him, that’s how much I liked his car (The Slipstream blue had me triggered) . I could tell however he was not interested in selling though.

But you make a good point, there is a ‘turn off’ factor that I don’t like that it’s been discontinued, but it does kind of add more to the rarity factor and manuals are very difficult to come across with the SS sedans. Even searching now, the closet SS Manual for sale from me is 700 miles away with 20,000 miles in Black. That blue SS sedan only had 6,000 miles.

Back to the Regal Peacock green SS is very Mustang ‘Bullitt-ish’ in color, on a sunny day, you can easily see the metallic flake in the darker green, but on a cloudy day or at night, it looks completely black. Its Really transformative color.

This would have been the model I was considering a year ago.

Now that I've had my certified used Scion iM for almost a month, I can say I've been pleasantly surprised with the car.

Two things I like: the really effective air conditioner (works great even when the outside temperature is 104 °F. (40 °C.)), and the car rides WAY better than my old Fit, even with even lower profile tires than my Fit. Yes, it does take a little more pedal pressure to move from stop, but once moving the car has lots of power on the freeways even at 70 mph (113 km/h).

I love the Regal Peacock Green on the SS.

I know some folks in this thread are ignorant of automotive history, or at least large aspects of it, but I wouldn't call it a "Bullit Mustang" color. Instead, let's call it what it is-British Racing Green-a color that doesn't work on some cars but looks amazing on others. The SS is in the latter category.
