Hey, Don't ask me at all how those things are related, but they are, I assume engine works harder to pull the car. No need to smartassynessYeah, my starter went out, got a new lid for the center console, fixed the starter right up.
That's a loaded question. It depends how you define production car. I believe there were ways you could spend that kind of cash on a Bugatti Veyron. Some 1000 hp stock.Speaking of rare cars, Any of you know the make and Model of the most expensive car in 2010? All i know is it cost over $2,000,000 and only 3 or 4 were ever made.

maybe you guys can help me out? I need to get a new vacuum hose, But where do i get one? it is a SMALL hose with the inner diameter close to the size of a #2 pencil. Here is a pic (Tape covers a small hole) I asked the shop to replace this hose while doing the brake work but they didn't (I assume because they didn't have one small enough.) View attachment 568048 This hose goes between the TB and the Valve cover any idea what purpose it serves?
As a bonus here is the (before) shot of the hose they DID replace:
View attachment 568049 This hose had no hole. Didn't have a leak either, I had the shop replace it because it was dry rotted (and has a noticable kink) which I thought was causing issues. I had it replaced as prevenitive maintence.

I tried NAPA AutoParts and AutoZone, neither store stocks vacuum hoses, I took the hose to them and they said they had nothing like that.Any auto parts store should have vacuum tubing. You just tell them what diameter you need. Electrical tape should work better than masking tape.
The hose to the left is the PCV hose,Here is a picture of the PCV hose:It's for crank case ventilation - combustion blow can cause unwanted air (and positive pressure) under the valve cover, so it goes through a check valve, and is then recirculated (back in through the TB). As long as the check valve is working, this is mostly just an emissions issue. In fact, some cars use a setup with an oil catch can because the blow by has enough oil to cause the TB (and air metering electronics) to get gunked up. You can also just stick a little breather on the VC side and plug the TB inlet (though that technically violates emissions laws).
I go to Home Depot for tubing. It's mad cheap and you can pick between so many materials. Plastic, silicon, PVC, brass, etcAny auto parts store should have vacuum tubing. You just tell them what diameter you need. Electrical tape should work better than masking tape.
Yup. Me too. They're not that rare, I've seen more Bugatti's on the road than Daewoos
Thanks for that tip. I tend to goto ACE hardware for all my needs, the nearest Home Depot Is like 10 miles away (If we even have one anymore, I think it closed down here)I go to Home Depot for tubing. It's mad cheap and you can pick between so many materials. Plastic, silicon, PVC, brass, etc
To get it to hold, I'd also buy one of those silicone guns and attach everything together.
If Home Depot is closed, maybe Lowes? Thanks for that tip. I tend to goto ACE hardware for all my needs, the nearest Home Depot Is like 10 miles away (If we even have one anymore, I think it closed down here)
No clue where Lowe's is we have Menard's but ACE is still closter....If Home Depot is closed, maybe Lowes?
If you go to CarMax, you can get a whole car along with your new vacuum hose just saying.

The hose to the left is the PCV hose,Here is a picture of the PCV hose:
As you can see the above hose is directly to the right. This (in this picture) hose was replaced 3 years ago when the brakes blew out the 1st time. AutoZone and NAPA also didn't have anything for this either. There is also this hose:
This one ALSO had a hole in it I replaced it myself 3 years ago using a hose i had on hand. (It was a drain hose used in junction with the drain tube on our clothes washer. I had to cut this hose last year (at the top) as it got another hole in it. It is of much bigger diameter but it does work fine. Here is what was (left) of the original hose:
Is this a EGR hose?
I heard its cheaper to just use PVC tubing from Home Depot and silicone spread to fasten everything in. Maybe use some clamps on top of that. It's hard to tell what your talking about, as I see a number of hoses and tubes. Can you label them.
If they're large in diameter or shaped in a specific fashion, they're probably a specific part. Try your GM/Chevy dealer as your engine is similar to other GM motors. If not, I'm sure you can order the part.
Well now that the brakes are fixed completely for the 1st time in 3 years, now, it's just doing non-crucial odds and ends (as well as upgrades and mods)... I will be doing the oil change next week (assuming i have enough money it may have to be next month) Just have to deside if i should jack the car up and use stands or if i should use my ramps. The Impala dont like the ramps so I ain't sure how challenging that will be.I feel like I'm being unfair to MatthewLTL. I don't want to discourage him from coming to the forums or whatever and I don't know his financial situation and it's not my business.
That being said, I think he could benefit from going out and buying a used Japanese car (less likely to break) or American car (easy to fix) of relatively recent vintage. I have made a vow to stop picking on him as of now.

Wouldn't PVC melt? seem using PVC would be more work than just using a piece of tubing or a hose of some kindI heard its cheaper to just use PVC tubing from Home Depot and silicone spread to fasten everything in. Maybe use some clamps on top of that.
Quick, easy, and CHEAP!
Nah. It wouldn't melt. They come heat-insulated inside. The PVC is the outer coating for rigidity.Wouldn't PVC melt? seem using PVC would be more work than just using a piece of tubing or a hose of some kind
