I feel like I'm being unfair to MatthewLTL. I don't want to discourage him from coming to the forums or whatever and I don't know his financial situation and it's not my business.

That being said, I think he could benefit from going out and buying a used Japanese car (less likely to break) or American car (easy to fix) of relatively recent vintage. I have made a vow to stop picking on him as of now.
I second the motion for a used Japanese car. A corolla or Civic please.

Nah. It wouldn't melt. They come heat-insulated inside. The PVC is the outer coating for rigidity.
Cool. I'll take the hose to the hardware store either this week or next month and see if they have anything.

Not getting a Japanese car. Not getting rid of this one, no reason to

Well if you're talking about the hose that's like 2" in diameter that's likely going to be a part. Thats not a conventional vacuum hose. Vacuum hoses are usually quite narrow.
The hose i am talking about (the skinny one with blue tape) has an inner diameter that fits PERFECTLY around the shaft of a #3 phillips screw driver it has a Daewoo Symbol on it and has the following printing on it: 96 184 788 P H i tried searching this as a part number but got nothing. like i said it fits snug over the shaft of a #3 phillips driver (I think it could also be a number 4 driver not sure

Then you should be able to find some tubing for that. My brother once had to replace some vacuum hoses for his cruise control. He went to the local Auto parts store (Carquest supplier I believe) and then basically had spools of it they'd cut.

Keep hunting around they're bound to have it somewhere. They kept it in the back stock section, not on the floor. Whatever the size is ie 1/4" or so tube should be out there. Measure the diameter (of the whole) and you should be set. Not it may have different names- hosing/tubing and it could be rubber, pvc, etc.

Thanks for the tip. I'll first try the hardware store (as that is closer than the nearest auto part store) and if they have nothing i will goto a auto part store. 3 hoses i pictured all got hole from the leaking valve cover. Oil hit rubber. Other than the power brake booster vacuum hose being replaced for prevenitive maintenance (last think I want it that hose to leak an losing power to my brakes), which was dry rotted, the other vacuum lines (that are visable) look to be perfectly fine. I had the shop replace the power brake vacuum hose because i could not get the damn hose off. THIS hose fits so loosely that i think i should get either a hair smaller inner diameter or tiny hose clamps.

EDIT: Made my own solution, here is pictures.
FILE0065.JPG
This is my tranny vent cap/tube. This tube was the exact diameter needed
FILE0069.JPG

Left: transmission vent tube, Right: Vacuum hose.
FILE0070.JPG

Cut with excess length in case it gets a hole later.
FILE0071.JPG

Installed!

EDIT 2: I wonder If I'll even notice a difference?

C and C here always has a nice turnout but it's just a big dick waving contest of 22 year olds showing off their $1000 lease payments and ****** bolt on cosmetic mods that can be removed at lease end "oh look another kid in an S7 with sTaNcE y0"

that and the CC here is way too import biased, at least by the guys who put it on and make 95% of the pics on their site import pics

C&C here is super European-biased. I'm not complaining because I love me some high-dollar German metal :)

But I also like muscle cars. The muscle car guys are usually at C&C, but park together on one side. The crew that really annoys me are the tuners with the Asian cars. Civics with huge wings, riced out GTRs... they're the hooligans

I saw a used 80K mile Audi S4 (2008) for $18,000. But, if the timing guides fail, it's nearly a $10,000 repair job?? And the BMW N54 twin turbo motors can also have a catastrophic repair charge. What are manufacturers thinking when they design such things? Don't they care about killing resale values for their very expensive cars?

That gen is crap reliability. You're would to have every problem in the book on that thing.

Check out early m96 m97 Porsches. You can pick one up for nothing. IMS bearing design flaw.

Months ago I was part of a discussion involving BMW and Toyota (4Runner). I was going to sell my 2004 4Runner and my 2007 328xit and get a new 4Runner. The 2004 4Runner went for full asking price to the first caller from craigslist. The BMW hasn't sold (more than a month).

Anyway, somebody said I ought to put up a picture of the new 4Runner when it finally came in (4 months ARO).

So here. 2015 4Runner Trail Premium with KDSS. Three weeks old. I've had it on some seriously bad roads and it's excellent. The road in the picture is about the best section of the road around Mauna Kea -- 35 miles, usually takes me 5 hours to do it.

Mauna Kea, at about 10,000', just at the treeline. Mauna Loa in the background.

So my WRX seems to have developed an issue where when turning the wheel sharply, there's a knock, like something's hitting something. Then a knock as I turn the wheel back to straighten it. It only happens when turning the wheel very sharply, like when backing out of a parking spot, not when making regular turns. It's under warranty, but any thoughts from the car gurus on what it could be and how serious it is? Is it "OMG, tow it to the dealer before the wheel falls off" serious, or "It can wait until your next oil change in November" serious? Or somewhere in between I'm guessing.

Tie rods? Control Arm bushings? CV joints?

I'm with AutoUnion39. Maybe tie rod. My old 4Runner would do that and fixing it required a trip to the front end place. If I were you, I'd have it looked at sooner rather than later.

Yeah, that's true. It can throw off his alignment too, which would eat up the tires. AWD cars are such a PITA when it comes to matching tread depths. You can kill the diff easily.

what's everyone's take on the new Jeep Renegade? i never knew, nor heard of, such a Jeep I saw a TV ad today on it.
There's two of them on my street. Both trail hawk models. They look kind of Tonka truck-esque.

Not a fan... especially with FCA quality woes. My buddy is a MOPAR tech up north and has seen so many issues with the Renegade and new Cherokee

I saw one at a jeep dealer a while back. I didn't like it at all. It has this ugly "Since 1947" wording embossed into the dashboard. The cloth interior was hideous (the center portions of the seat back and bottom was a repeating "Jeep" word repeating. It just looks cheesy to me. It's very small too.

Agreed. I've mentioned it here before, I know 4 people who bought a new Fiat Cherokee and all 4 have had pretty major issues within a few hundred miles of ownership.

Can anyone tell me what the "nismo" means on Nissan's?
You can probably google it, but i am going to guess Nissan Motors or Nissan Motorsports.

I believe nismo is a trim package. I have seen exactly 2 of them one i believe is a Nissan Maxima nismo. It has a red grill as well as red accents. It says nismo on the trunk lid (instead of maxima). The second was a current-generation nissan that said nismo but had red pinstrip-accenting.
Well, After replacing the vacuum (vent?) hose. I noticed the extra length was a downfall, as when this hose heated up it kinked due to it's thin wall. So I cut about 1" off, here is the results:

For extra stability I added this to the hose:

not sure what this is... I think it's a spacer. The hose fits right through it and Outter Diameter of this spacer matches that of the original hose. I may get a hose clamp just so it stays in place.

And just so it is stated, I DID NOT remove the tranny vent tube it's right here:

AND after the shop replace the vacuum hose for the brake booster, I noticed one thing I never seen on a vacuum line before, a hose clamp:

Yeah, they're pure crap.

The latest story I got from my buddy was about a Cherokee. 100 miles in, wiring harness started smoking. Dealer gave them his money back. Dealer sent the car back to Jeep. They saved the VIN and ran it a few days ago. It ended up at another Jeep dealer 2 hours north as a used car.

A Cherokee they sold... got towed back in a week later because the driveshaft fell out on the highway. How is that even possible?

I don't trust these cars one bit. Hell no.
