I took this picture at my gym a few weeks ago. Wasn't able to fit the Mercs and Audis on the other side
The reason for so many white and black BMWs is because they charge $500 extra for any other color. The lease cars are probably all black or white.
I agree. Montego Blue is gorgeous. It was a Priority 1 Color. Custom order only.
Color is really important to me too. I waited an extra month to get a Priority 1 color on my X5 (Vermillion Red.) Quite different from the sea of black/silver/grey/white BMWs
Neat, I bet the production numbers on X5s in any kind of red variant are tiny. Heck, ours was gray
I'm generally not a fan of blue but +love+ blue on BMWs (wife's Z3 was blue).
That being said, I've become a fan of the lighter (hugger?) blue on the 5th gen mustang GT500 when combined with black stripes, it's fun and colorful, but still a bit menacing

That seems like a lame excuse... what's $500 for a non-generic color in the grand scheme of things, when you're spending $45k on a 3 series...
I think people are mostly boring. Silver cars, beige walls, white carpet, etc.
My office is Flaming Sword Red, and when we got the color mixed, the paint guy asked some lady standing at the counter if it was hers, held up the lid to show the color - it actually scared her, "Oh my goodness, no!!"

People are cheapskates, but will do anything for the badge. It's why the 320i, CLA, etc exist now to get these cheapskates into the fold who want to think they are cool too by having a German car.
And of course the reason DT said. People are boring.
At least old people buy their Cadillac's in gold.....

No joke, but there is an M3 that cruises around town with tri-coat paint(i.e. the pearlescent stuff) in a color that-to borrow from a favorite movie-could be described as "Metallic pea green."
What's even worse is it has a decal on the top of the windshield in 3" high letters that says "Sexual Chocolate."
It's quite a sight to see.

The ATS does come in nice colors too...
I am a personal fan of the Black Diamond Tricoat. Tried to get my dads ATS in black diamond, but the only one in the area had those crappy 18" rims shown in this picture and the dealer refused to swap the wheels to the ones we preferred. We ended up picking black raven which is a typical black paint.
And I am also a fan of the morello red interior of the ATS..... Dad's is the jet black with aluminum trim though( they were afraid of the long term aspect of the morello red where would they still like it or would they get tired of it). Then again I always been a fan of well done non-traditional interior colors( my Saturn Aura has the Morocco brown interior and I still love it).

That's definitely the best color for the Wagon Queen Family Truckster, that's a hell of a fine automobile.
The M4 color - that I also call "green" - is actually yellow, Austin Yellow Metallic specifically, but you can do a $5K custom option, so I've seen all sorts of green variants online (the Signal Green Metallic is pretty stunning).

I'm super excited about the new Vacation movie coming out this summer.
I am too, and fingers crossed they do it right. It may not have the kind of sacredness as something like The Godfather, but it's like a member of the family kind of movie. Of course, Christmas Vacation is a staple
The trailers look like they've got the tone down pretty good, and Ed Helm is a pretty solid choice for Rusty (and of course Chevy and Beverley as the parents, woo!)
Dont they usually also offer a $500 metallic black and white option. The majority of 3 series I see are silver, grey, blue, blue-grey. I sorta feel black isn't even up there compared to the previously listed colors.
Gold/tan is very difficult to get right. And by right I mean fairly tolerable. This is a perfect example of getting it completely wrong.At least old people buy their Cadillac's in gold.....

My dad's '12 RRS HSE is "ipanema sand" which doesn't look too terrible. I'm not exactly a fan, but it's not the worst of the tan/gold colors. I think the key is not going too dark. His RRS has the dark brown leather he really wanted and it was a demo model so he got a good deal on it. At least it's an easy color to take care of. It doesn't show easily dirt, pollen, sand, scratches, or much of anything.
Hah. As you can see, my picture still had remnants of snow. The 3-series, X3/x5, and RX350 account for 70% of the cars it seems in my 'hood.Haha, yup... That's it.

The CTS used to come in this crazy metallic blue that was just stunning IRL.
Yeah, on my side of Brookline, it's basically the same, but add in some Porsche/Audi/Benzes. Ghibli is pretty popular too.
