It also comes in an amazing shade of Red too. They call it Crystal Red IIRC.
Gorgeous colors! Both of them.

The CTS used to come in this crazy metallic blue that was just stunning IRL.

Yeah, on my side of Brookline, it's basically the same, but add in some Porsche/Audi/Benzes. Ghibli is pretty popular too.

Indeed. You have crazy spoiled Asian college crowd. I'm on the South side of Beacon, more on the Chesnut Hill side so there's older people and parents. The A7 and Q5 seems popular. There's houses all around me so they have anything from Toyota Highlanders to Bentley Contientals. It's an interesting mix. I'm seeing a lot of the new Lexus GS. There's a guy a couple buildings away me that has a grey Ghibli. I saw a B7 Alpina 7-series today on Beacon Street. For my immediate neighbors, 3-series, X3, and RX seem to be the top contenders.

I am too, and fingers crossed they do it right. It may not have the kind of sacredness as something like The Godfather, but it's like a member of the family kind of movie. Of course, Christmas Vacation is a staple :) The trailers look like they've got the tone down pretty good, and Ed Helm is a pretty solid choice for Rusty (and of course Chevy and Beverley as the parents, woo!)

IMO, Vegas Vacation was really scraping at the straws and really ruined the franchise.

To me, it's a toss-up between the original and Christmas Vacation. European Vacation is good but IMO not in the same league as the other two.

I've heard jokes about guys being able to have an entire conversation in movie quotes, and Christmas Vacation is definitely one of those movies for which I could probably do it.

Of course, Vacation has its fair share too, especially with the Wagon Queen Family Truckster. I always laugh at the "air bag" that actually a garbage bag :)

I think they're going a good path with the new one-rather than remaking the old one, they're trying to keep continue the original series. At least they're involving Chevy Chase in it, too.

Honestly, GM killed off Pontiac long before they ended the brand. The G8 was pretty great, but the G6 and G5 were terrible.
Well Pontiac in general was junk since the mid 90s, I've known plenty of people with them, nothing but problems, the headlights randomly falling out, being one of them.
PS. The G5 is a Chevy Aveo AKA Daewoo Kalos....
Are you sure the CTS isn't actually a Daewoo? Daewoo CTS!
No, Daewoo never sold under the Caddy Badge.
I'm pretty sure that's a Chevy logo. I'm not wearing my glasses though, I could be wrong.
Chevy Aveo IS a Daewoo, The badge doesn't fool anyone.

I saw a White Daewoo Kalos with South Dakota plates the other day (Chevy Sonic) 1st Sonic Sedan I've ever seen. I turned behind him, we happened to be going the same place so when he parked and I parked, I asked him how he likes his Daewoo, He was like, "What?" I said "Your Sonic, it;s actually a Daewoo." He's like, "I don't know anything about that." :D

Of course the guy didn't know what you're talking about.

So do you call a Pontiac Vibe a Toyota? Or a Ford Five Hundred a Volvo? It's a car designed by GM engineers using GM engineering and parts, designed by Italdesign Giugiaro (an Italian company, if the name didn't give it away), in a GM built factory. What part of that says Daewoo? The Daewoo conglomerate no longer exists. The Korean government forced it to sell its divisions. There are some companies that still sport the Daewoo name, but Daewoo Motors is not one of them. How much stock does Daewoo own in GM Korea? None. I believe Korea is the only place the Daewoo name is even used, and that's out of nationalism/brand recognition.

The Chevy Sonic is the next-gen Aveo, The Aveo IS a Daewoo 100% manufactured in Korea in the same factories as Daewoo. Only in the US was it sold as an "Aveo" It's the Pontiac G5 in Mexico and Canada, The Chevy Kalos elsewhere. The Suzuki Forenza, 100% Daewoo, The Chevy Spark (US) is 100% a Daewoo Matiz. the ONLY reason these Daewoo's sold as Chevrolet's is because GM decided to completely phase out the Daewoo Brand. Doesn't make them any less of a Daewoo.

EDIT: The Daewoo name itself was still used in Russia and Egypt long after it was pulled from the US Market.

My Dad's '99 Bonneville was a great car, although admittedly it was a rebadged/reskined version of the most of the other medium-large cars GM was making in the late 90s. He traded a '97 Oldmobile 88 for it, and aside from the more "aggresive" styling of the Pontiac exterior and the (slightly) sportier tuned engine and transmission, the two were quite similar. The interiors were nearly identical. The Buick LeSabres of the same age were effectively reskinned Olds 88s(as much as I love the Olds name and history, GM had let it flounder enough that it needed to go, as there was virtually no distinction between it and Buick).

I LOVED the G8. It's the same Holden Commodore that GM is now selling to the police market as the Chevy Caprice and the general market as the Chevy SS. This has proven to be a good, solid car. If I'm not mistaken, it's the only full size RWD Sedan that GM is making now(I'd class the CTS as closer to mid-size).

As per Wiki, the last generation GTO was the same Holden platform as the Cadillac Catera. The Catera was a car that got a lot of hate in the press at the time. My mom had a '99 that she bought in '02 or so, and I LOVED it. She got rid of it about the time I got my license so I didn't get a lot of wheel time with it, but it was a fun to drive and peppy car.

I Thought Olds was discontinued because it wasn't selling

Does anyone have any problems with looking the back window of the Lexus NX 200t SUV? I'm just curious. Thank you

The G8 was a hell of a swan song for Pontiac. I've seen many refer to it as a cheaper M5 alternative. Neighbor has a GXP version.

I haven't seen many of the Chevy SS models on the road yet -- speaking of which... I'm off to go read reviews.

I definitely think that this thread needs a major turn around. Enough of those huge monsters.

^Gorgeous looking cars, but it's sad that they've become the red-headed step child of the Fiat empire.

The 4C is such a slick car, but I can't think of a single reason to buy one over a Cayman. Hopefully, the Guilia doesn't turn out like a Maserati Ghibli did. If it does, good luck to FCA...

The Ferrari-like carbon fiber tub is really cool. To choose a 4C over a Cayman is like choosing a Corvette over an R8.

Also, if you're into looks, the 4C looks significantly more exotic and striking.
