Looks great. Huge imprvoement with opening multitask window. With developer mode is on, animations to 0.5 and ART it is going to be super fast right (like htc and naked android) ? Still waiting for this update from ATT. What case you are using?

Spigen ultra clear TPU in this instance, but often don't bother with a case at all. :)

I've added those settings and yeah its very fast.

I am just uploading developer mode enabled video with multitasking and memory management. Running multiple programmes and no reloading issues and if anything even better memory handling .... Not sure why.

Will post the youtube link here as soon as its uploaded to them :D

I decided to grab the 194MB update for my S5 today. The phone performs much better (although I was never a dissatisfied user) - the RAM usage now pretty much stays under 1GB for me.

My partner had a play with my S5; when he went back to his S4 he said it felt like it had a lot of lag (I've offer to get him new phones all the time but he always declines).

At least now I am pretty sure he'll accept my S5 when I get my Note 4.

My S3 got laggy after a few months and I've been assured on here that Samsung had sorted that out. I'm surprised the S4 suffers as it's only just over a year old isn't it? I left android a couple of years ago now and the lag was my biggest gripe. I like to keep my options open but that would need to be sorted before I considered it again.

The S4 is horribly laggy. It lasted about 2 months and I dumped it, returning to Apple with the iPhone 5S.

The S4 issues are not present on my S5. In terms of operation it's a smooth operator.

In the S4's defence, I must say that it flies, now that I've got a GPE rom on it.

Hhmmm. I will have to do the update and I never disapproved of its performance either or I would have returned it. The update may make me reconsider selling it and really the only reason was really because I already have too many devices.

I am the one who needs intervention. :) And more phones are coming soon. Damn.

Does any of photo editor apps (Gallary etc) sync photos automatically to cloud?

Yep, Photos (googles)

Or if you have Photos or OneDrive auto backup enabled, any third party photo editor once you have saved your image in a location that is being auto backed up will work.

Ladies and gentlemen, I just bought a SGS5............

Yes, you read that right: a SGS5. Despite I really dislike Samsung after 2 years with the SGS3, despite the AMOLED screen, despite the annoying USB cover, despite not having on screen buttons...

I've just played with it for a couple of minutes only, but it looks good, better than I expected.

I tried the G3 and M8 again today before deciding, but in the end Samsung won because of the camera and the famous G3 issues (overheating and lag, which I both experienced again today. Otherwise I would have bought the G3).

Initial impressions:

- Screen is very nice actually. Not a fan of AMOLED, but it's good. Brightness is great.
- Loudspeaker feels worse than on my SGS3, like muffled or lower. Weird.
- Fast and fluid (and I still have to update it to the latest version, the one MRU showed is even faster!).
- GPS worked great on GPS only but with high accuracy it did some weird things moving around and then going back to the correct spot.
- Battery seems great.

Best part is the price I paid: 327€ for a black 16GB model from Vodafone (my carrier). There were a few unlocked for 400€, but I can always flash the latest unlocked update via Odin, just like I do with the SGS3.

I bought it on a second hand shop. Phone is in perfect exterior condition, like new, so very happy.

Will post more impressions in the following days. At the moment it seems like a better phone than my previous LG G2 (and my Nexus 5).

Yeah, price is awesome. On big retailers it's still at 585€ unlocked and new.

I ended up realizing there's no perfect phone, so decided to buy this one because of the price and like new condition. I can use it until something better comes along and finally retire my SGS3.

FWIW my G3 hasn't had any overheating issues.

I, on the other hand, have had some overeating issues recently.

I am the first one to be surprised I ended buying another Samsung

But it was a great option for the price. I had to buy it. I can always sell it for the same price (they are going for 400€ here on forums and eBay).

First 24hrs with the phone: very positive impressions.

GPS is super super fast and very accurate. This is really important to me so couldn't be happier.

Also, outdoors visibility is simply the best I have seen so far. Many reviews said so but I didn't expect it to be so good.

Bad part is the loudspeaker. It's terribly located. Almost all the time my hands are on top of it blocking the sound. Can't understand how Samsung failed to see this.

I have to say it... wait for it... Samsung did a good job with this phone. They've addressed many of the issues I had with them.

Now waiting for those Spigen screen protectors to arrive and looking for some good cases.

Happy as a bunny

Just out of interest, how do screen protectors fare when the phone gets wet?

My phone isn't getting anywhere near water, I can assure you that. I don't care it's waterproof. I'll never use my phone in a pool, under water, etc.

Even better! I hope we get the new multitasking UI seen on the Note 4. Looks great. It'll probably arrive with the L update.

Screen on this thing is amazing... Samsung has improved the AMOLED displays a lot! I'm using a lower saturated profile and it's excellent this way.

Forgot to mention battery life. It's good. Not great, but good enough.
