Is it possible to remove the quick settings menu and just leave notifications on the top? Would like to keep it minimal. Image
That quick settings are is only present on certain S5s. AT&T's version doesn't have that.

Did you guys set the transitions to .5? If so does it increase the responsiveness of the phone?
To be honest, the firmware update I got the other day made a vast change compared to animation setting, so much so I just turned developer options off so they are all stock now.
I have responsiveness issues at all.
Everything from multitasking which used to have a delay reaction regardless of animation setting has basically gone with the update.
I'm genuinely impressed that an update that reduced actual user accessible memory by 10% has improved performance so much for me.
Definetly appears Samsung have been trying to address the under the hood issues of Touchwiz - now if only they would do the same to my note pro 12.2
The new update is very good. Noticeable performance increase across the whole gui. No more lag delay in multitasking window launches for example. Memory manganese does seem improved despite there being less user accessible after the update. And i can't find any lag in the ui of the phone at all.
Is this update specific to any carrier. I am yet to get anything from ATT.
Be sure to share some with us!Great pics.... I'm heading down to the smoky mountains this weekend and hope to really see what the S5 can do!
I just tested the speed of my galaxy s5 camera multiple times.
I can open the camera and have a photo taken, with flash, in the dark, in around four seconds.
If yours is taking 5 to 6 seconds just to open the camera, take it back to the shop and moan. I would.
It takes two seconds to open the camera from the lock screen, which isn't that fast but acceptable.
I just tried Google camera, it is a fraction faster, not much.
After new update my camera opens in about 2 secs tops.
I will upload a video later showing how fast my S5 and buttery smooth it has become since the firmware was updated last week and how it handles memory now.
Ok I've done a video - its a bit crappy tbh.
I was trying to see what I was doing through the viewfinder of my other phone so a few times I missed buttons when pressing or hit the back button instead of the kill task button, but hey you can at least get the idea and see how its handling memory after the firmware update despite user accessible amount going from 1.81 to 1.67 after the firmware, the amount used when running multiple programmes and when not - has dropped exponentially. I used to hover around 1.3-1.4GB stationary and 1.7gb when running a few apps. Now it hovers around 1gb stationary and 1.2-1.3 with some apps running.

Developer Mode is turned off - animations are all set to default settings.
Thanks for the video MRU. That is indeed buttery smooth with no lag!Ok I've done a video - its a bit crappy tbh.

I don't think so they are going to screw up. I came across S5 lag related threads in every android forum. Lot of users are mentioning about Samsung improving things going forward with the updates. Looks like it is common theme with Samsung. Thanks for the video!
I was gonna look in YouTube for videos of this update to check the performance.
It does feel a lot more smoother and faster, but I have the feeling that performance will suffer again in the future with updates. I just keep thinking Samsung will screw things up with poorly optimised updates.
You were PHX and it is in the middle of the desert. You have to drive a hour or so to get to some pines and mountains. But AZ is beautiful in some areas....but mostly desert!I had no clue AZ looked like that. I went to Phoenix for a week a few years ago and it wasnt near as nice as that area
