Will you use the S-Pen? Then it comes down to size........for me the N3 was just too big as a phone. The S-Pen was the biggest attraction but I ended up not using it after the the first few days. So it comes down to how you would use it.....

I won't use the S Pen. The reasons to go for the Note 3 would be the battery life (don't know if it's that much better than the S5), more RAM (which could be more important after reading some of the comments from you guys on the S5 and it's multitasking) and that it doesn't have that annoying (for me) USB port cover.

S5 has a brighter screen, better camera, smaller body, nicer back cover and that's it for me. Don't like the USB cover (don't want to spend more money on the wireless charging).

I don't think there's much difference between both, is there? From what I've read the extra GB of RAM on the Note does make a difference in day to day use, but I'm not sure.

Both have the chrome bezel, which I also hate.

I'm just giving it a thought. Would prefer the M8 but the camera kills it for me. G3 is also nice but don't want QHD (they also say the display is dimmer than the one in the S5, and don't want to have to deal every week with the brightness issue on LG phones) and price is 499€ here.

So in Prime LTE A/international models you can(and apparently have been able to) delete the bloatware in the same fashion that the iPhone does by removing apps. Why havent they let us in the USA do it?

Well you can see in the video there was apps that he couldn't. It's the same here, but generally carriers here don't load it up.

Check on swappa I think they go for around $500 US

Yeah, I reckon I could get €400 here on Irish version if swappa ... The person offering it to me just doesn't want the hassle, so I'm thinking I could make a relatively easy €100 ....:) n

Got offered a S5 mint condition (week old) unlocked in gold for €300 ..... I'm thinking I may buy and sell on ....

Seriously, how do you get so good offers?? :D:D

I still remember the M8 one.

Today I got offered an S5 too, for 410€, but I'm still not sure what new phone to get, so I declined.

I want excellent battery life, and from seeing the XDA S5 battery life I'm seeing many people not happy, and overall 5 hours screen on time seems to be what most are getting.

I like 5 hours screen on time, but maybe I'll go G2 for more.

Also saw a YouTube video this week about a guy who's S5 USB cover broke after two months, and I don't like that. I want better build quality than the Samsung phones are offering (my S3 looks like s*** after two years even thought I've taking really good care of it).

I'd hate to see the paint of the chrome bezel wear off again in the S5 just like in my S3.

Also would prefer an IPS display over another AMOLED.

So hard for me to choose a new phone...:rolleyes:

Seems by looking at the discussion, things are cheaper there? Here in the USA he could sell the S5 he got for $500 but he said he might get $400 there. Just a quick observation, i could be wrong. I think in the USA, $300 for a S5 right now is a damn good deal

I went to an AT&T/Samsung event on Thursday with a coworker and we both received a free Samsung Galaxy S5 along with a free Otter Box case. He wasn't really interested in the phone so I offered him $100 for it and he accepted. I am not an Android user either but knew I could easily get $400 minimum for it if I sold it. I am thinking I'll keep mine and then sell his. Or once the novelty has worn off I might sell both. Its a nice phone but Android is just not for me and I have several thousands of dollars tied up in iOS apps. The last AT&T event I went to I walked away with a Nokia Lumia 920.

Issue with the S5 came up today.

A big dark spot developed on the right side of the camera. Came out of no where, no prior symptoms.

It shows up in photos as well. Took it to AT&T and they'll have a replacement delivered, I hope before the 4th since I'll be taking a lot of photos.

Otherwise I'll need to use my 5S.

Did some research and it doesn't seem like this is a problem for anyone else. Not sure what happened. Almost like something got under the lens, which would be odd for a dust proof, water proof phone.

Either way, replacement inbound.

$300 for an S5 is 99% likely to be a fake.

There are lots of clones running around right now at that price. Trust me.
