What’s different about the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A WQHD Super AMOLED display?
http://www.androidauthority.com/wqhd-super-amoled-display-401434/

- Snapdragon 805 processor
- 3GB RAM
- WQHD display of 577 PPI

This is what the S5 should have been to begin with.

A Review I've read about the LG G3 said the WQHD doesn't make a difference to the LG G2. Also that the battery life remains very good, so it's ok, but I start to ask myself if they could just concentrate on something else than display resolution.. ;)

With Android L being 64 bit able: Is the 805 64 bit?

EDIT: Oh the irony, first criticizing the spec race on one hand and then take part on the other :D But I was curious. :)

How is the S5?

Was thinking of getting one. Are there any lags or slow downs with this device? I'm definitely a fan of the pure android experience but the nexus 5 has under performed for me in a few key areas (battery life, camera, low volume,) while display is great....certain angles gives off a washed out look. Not a huge fan of TW. Any major drawbacks from owning this device?

Other than it uses a lot of memory, I have never found the S5 laggy or slow.

Today I played with one again for like 30 minutes.

No lag, but it's not the fastest phone out there. I think the G2, G3, M8 and Z2 are faster, or at least they feel that way to me.

I don't like the new TouchWiz. Feels more cartoonish than before. I feel the same way about iOS 7.

RAM was an issue. I had four apps opened in the background, one of them being Chrome and another a game, and the Chrome tabs had to reload almost immediately after doing some light multitasking.

Also dislike the build quality. The new back is better, definitely, but I still hate having a hardware home button (preferences), an AMOLED oversatutated display (I prefer IPS 1000 times more) and that ugly looking chrome bezel.

On the other hand, camera is the best IMO, battery is good and Samsung offers more updates than others.

After two years with a SGS3 I was desperate for a change, and that's why I chose the G2 over the SGS5.

Is it possible to remove the quick settings menu and just leave notifications on the top? Would like to keep it minimal.

I returned my LG G3 today and exchanged it for the S5 in gold. So I'm staying with Samsung again. I just can't seem to stay away.

Test the SD card with the videos on it with your S5.

It's playing flawlessly on the S5! I knew there wasn't anything wrong with the card as I put it back into my note 3 to see if it was damaged and it was working.

Just setting it all up but happy with it so far.

I stopped by att today to play with the S5. Hardware wise it's a beautiful phone regardless of the plastic body. However, the TW os is a major turn off. So much that I'm taking the nexus 5 experience for granted lol. Anyway, I passed on getting the S5 and debating between the N5 and 5S......

Let us know how the update went. Did it improve the performance of the S5?

Seemed to be a bigger update than I thought.

It added another security feature to protect phisihing texts / emails.

HOWEVER!!!!!!!

Before memory was 1.81GB user available ? Now = 1.67GB !!!
That being said it seems to be better managing itself but still on the heavy side compared to stock or HTC sense 6.

Strange samsung, very strange........

Agree with you on the Sense versus TW. Hopefully with sales slipping a little Samsung will pay attention and focus on the end users experience more.
I might pick a S5 up this week just to play around with one again. I miss that camera! We are going on a fishing trip in the mountains so need a better camera than my M8. Plus i won't have to worry about it getting wet! :)

The new update is very good. Noticeable performance increase across the whole gui. No more lag delay in multitasking window launches for example. Memory manganese does seem improved despite there being less user accessible after the update. And i can't find any lag in the ui of the phone at all.

Lol. :) I think you and I need an intervention...
I wonder if they have a 12 step program for this addiction? Maybe a nice new drug? Maybe a electric ankle monitor to wear...then we we think "Ahhh nice phone" we get a little electric shock? :)
