so far only 1 person i sent a pic to said they got it .. the rest go through with no red exclamation point but is never received on the other end:mad:

5:30 AM here in Phoenix and I'm still getting the error. Also, I tries to send one to myself and it didn't go through. Bummer...

S.E. Minnesota. Ours started working about 9:00 last night.

Very cool that you can MMS voice memos and contacts! Didn't figure it would do that.

in Cincinnati area, I tried to send an MMS 4 times while on 3G and each one failed to sent. I then switched it to my WiFi and it was able to send the MMS. Now I see why AT&T didn't want MMS enabled. Imagine that, a cellphone carrier that can't handle MMS? wtf...

MMS and Text Messages never send through WiFi. That was merely a coincidence.

did the carrier update add the camera icon to share pictures on the Facebook app?? I never noticed the camera icon before

Just got the text message from AT&T about two hours ago.

I've not upgraded to 3.1 yet, however, due to all the problems I've been reading bout here on the board.

Oh yeah, I'm in Central Florida.

I've sent 5 but only one went through. I'm sending to T-Mobile, but I don't think it's TMo, since one of them did go through and the rest didn't.

If anyone is having trouble sending/receiving MMS, i would say it's a very local or individual problem.

Good guess as to why MMS was released on Friday is that weekend cellular/data traffic dwarfs what the business week uses and will cause less problems for ATT's launch.

Monday is a different story, though. I'd say there's going to be more failures compared to this weekend.

Afterall, Nights and Weekends are free on ATT because traffic is a lot lighter during these times, so we'll see how 9-5, Monday-Friday service acts.

I'm able to send and receive MMS (tested both pic and video) to and from AT&T iPhones. I also can send successfully (confirmed they are rec'd) to a Verizon user. However I cannot receive any MMS from a Verizon user. I can get SMS, just not MMS from Verizon.

I spoke all afternoon with AT&T... replaced SIM card... restored iPhone in iTunes and setup as a new phone. Still no success. Anyone else having any inter-carrier issues?

(I have iPhone 3GS, 3.1, Carrier 5.5)

Is service down in socal? Hadn't used my phone for the last hour and now I checked on it and getting no service and my mms is missing. Icon and in the other apps. Carrier still shows it AT&T 5.5. Anyone else having that problem. Like it reverted back. I did charge it to 100% could be a possiblity

I have received MMS from a Verizon user, but I haven't been able to receive MMS from anyone on a Blackberry (Verizon/US Cellular were those tested), otherwise, no other issues. Sending is fine, just haven't successfully received a MMS by way of a BlackBerry..will keep updating on that status..

MMS here (Rochester, NY) is a joke. I sent a picture (taken from the iPhone) to my wife's jailbroken iPhone that is on the T-Mobile network. The picture looks TERRIBLE. I should take a screen shot and post it up. On the other hand, my wife's iPhone on the T-Mobile network to my iPhone on AT&T looks untouched from the original.

Just did the update; got MMS (tested & works):), lost tethering and can't seem to get it back no matter what I do. 32G 3GS, OS 3.1.

I am having the same issue! I cannot sent a mms to my husband's blackberry also on AT&T (family plan), an iPhone user friend tried as well, he just gets an error message... Are blackberries just not supporting the pic message format or something??
Has anyone else had trouble sending pictures to a blackberry??

Still not one message sent or received in Phoenix... I called the representative and they told me that it is a blackout and there is nothing they can do...

Not to change the topic of this thread, and let's keep this quick to one reply ... about how long did it take to update through iTunes from start to finish? Thank you.
(I want to update, but I need to be able to receive incoming calls today)
