Looks to me like lots of these companies are using the same lugs. If they are similar then you're gonna need to make sure you're checking them regularly.

Their solution:
We will send you some more screws and a screwdriver. Oh and you should buy some locktite too.

Seriously!

Makes you wonder what their profit margin is...

Wow, that's a pretty bad business response. For a $180 dollar product (and we know it doesn't cost them that much) they should be jumping on sending you a new adapter.

If you are happy with the band, you should get one of the spring type adapters instead. I would trust them more for daily use, the screw type adapters are prone to failure.

They are sending me 2 new adapters and I'm asking for some screws as spares too.

I bought some super hard thread lock so I'll set the screws once they arrive.

Without trawling through pages and pages is there a recommended Spring adapter that have proven to be the best?

Just saw it. Wow. That's actually even a bit more than I thought it would be.

And here's the thing.... the guy I was trying to help save $100 on the band by getting form amazon, said he'd just pay Nomad, because he didn't want to tinker with it (adapters). And now look... you HAVE to tinker with of all things, the adapters! :/ Yes, I also suggested just getting the spring bar adapters and be done with it. Oh well...

Is it still up there for $80? I don't even want to pay that for it, but I'm curious.

are you sure spring adapters are "safer'

normal "lugs'' with Loctite ''red'' thread lock, is about as permanent as you'll get (with a decent lug), surely?

ps

I'm no expert.

I bought some locktite red. We shall see.
It wasn't a pleasant experience watching the watch fall my wrist.

If an apple strap failed and the watch broke. At least we would have a fighting chance.

Yes I know what a smashed apple watch sport screen looks like (I dropped mine on tarmac)- it was totalled.

I've also had a 'knock off' dangle off my wrist from a loose screw that dropped out. I was lucky, sounds like you were too.

I've replaced all my ''lugs'' and used Loctite.

I might also get one of these to check the two screws aren't compromised when swapping over straps:

these watches are expensive.

Here is my SBSS with a 22mm super jubilee watch band. Adds a little weight to the watch but the band is very comfortable. Very nice quality- looks much nicer in person.

2turbofour, where'd you get this? I kinda like my Seiko's jubilee-style bracelet and have been thinking of one for my AW. An oyster style is on my mind, too.

I have a 42 mm Gold Sport and I'm desperate to find bands that have pins clasps and adapters to match the gold color! I'd love to buy apples modern buckle in blue leather but it just doesn't match! Has anyone found a solution???

Even if it did, you have a 42mm watch and it's only available for the 38.

Can't think I've seen any knockoffs for that size, either.

Just receieved my second "dark grey" sports band, and to my dismay, it is a very light grey. So just a heads up to anyone ordering from these chinese sellers : they don't know what dark grey is. I'm actually furious.

I wouldn't say that about Chinese sellers in general, but I've had an experience as well. I ordered a gold-plated cover from some guy who lied about being located in my state, didn't refund me and then sent me a very pale, silverish, cover, with a plastic screen protector attached, which was not in the description.

Well, this is the second band, from a second seller which is not anywhere near the 'dark grey' colour pictured in the listing.

The barcode does indeed say dark grey, but the band is in fact the 'fog' colour Apple sells. Maybe they just read the code and send it out, but a quick glance should tell them it isn't dark in any way.

You'd think it would be easy to copy a rubber band, but noooooooooooo…

Seriously, though, why do they not care about getting it right? I can see why Jony Ive says that bad design is insulting to the user.

It doesn't look too bad in that picture, some I have seen look like a 42mm watch strap on a 38mm watch!
I have 3 or 4 MOKOs, and don't notice the width at all, but I don't really for go looking for it. Different angles could produce inaccurate looking dimensions, I reckon. It only seems barely wider to me.
Now my watch body and it's "characters" on the other hand, I notice them every time I bang into something

I have 2 Moko bands coming tomorrow, if it's noticable for me I won't use them so I'll be sending them back lol.
