it's just as thin as the old nanos.

i was referring to the iPod Touch....

Actually, after looking at the pics in this thread, I'm struck by how similar they are to the first gen nanos. Really very little difference is dimensions between the two, although they did manage to use a much greater portion of the face for the screen this time around.

right, the nano form factor only changed when they created the short and fat one.

Those iPods look sick!

I can't understand why everyone has so many though. I went from a 1G 2GB nano to the iPhone 3G 8GB and now never touch the nano except when mowing the lawn. I wouldn't know what to do if I had 2 nanos. :\

I just picked up an orange 8GB, it's beautiful, love the color, bright, vibrant like in the pictures online. I seem to have lost my camera though . If I didn't purchase this I wouldn't have known it was missing, thanks apple!

It's amazingly light and fantastic to run with now, running with a 5G 30GB ipod compared to this is like holding a 5lb weight.

Okay guys here is a RED one! Just picked it up today after work! :D I'm so happy. I just love it. Even though it's so similar in form factor to the 2nd gen nano, once you see and hold it in person, you can really notice the thinness which is really remarkable. It also feels lighter in the hand. The screen is super high res and gorgeous too. It makes the 2nd gen screen look really out-dated.

My camera is only a point & shoot, so it's kinda hard to pick up the soft metallic sheen the red has, but I did my best. Hope ya like it :)

Myer Wollongong are selling 4GB 4th Gen iPod nanos for A$169 - they have no idea where they came from and have very limited info from Apple except that they come in less colours.

Very strange but 100% true - I've held one in my hand.

4gb?? as in half of 8gb right?

does it say 4gb on the back and/or in the about section. BUY ONE DAMMIT

I prefer the new style.

Nothing against the 3rd Gen Nano, but when at the gym I tend to keep the nano in the waistband of my shorts. The 3rd gen due to its smaller size had a habit of sliding under the band and reappearing beneath my butt. 2nd Gen never did that.

Nothing has less class than being in the gym/on the treadmill stopping, shoving your hand down the back of your shorts, rummaging around and fishing a Nano out your butt. Granted some of the music was sh*t but....

I am really hoping there will be no such problems with the new Nano. Given its design is similar to the 2nd gen it should stay at the waistband and I should no longer need to rescue my nano from the depths of my shorts. In doing so I will also stop getting withering looks from some of the ladies in the gym (and some interested looks from a few of the guys)

^^^ armband?

Nah don't find them comfortable. However I would have put up with it had I known my 3rd Gen was going to graviate to my butt.

Fortunately I've only had the 3rd Gen Nano for a couple of months. I plan to get a new 16Gb Nano for the design and the extra space.

I will then disinfect the old 3rd Gen and give it to my kid sister.

hi,

has anyone used their ipod nano for audiobooks and can give a short review?

how fast and convenient can you fast forward through an audiobook? does it remember exactly where i left off?

the older ipods are crap. mine doesn't remember where i left off. it's most of the time off by 10 min. sometimes it remembers nothing. fast forwarding is virtually useless since there is a 2 sec delay between a click and the ipod reacting. rewinding in audiobooks doesn't work at all. it either jumps back 2 hrs or its painfully slow and repeats the same sentence ten times before rewinding a bit further.

if the nano still has this problems i'm not going to buy one. although they look fantastic.

color bleed?

Just bought a 8gb purple nano last night in Hong Kong. Walked around with it today in sweltering weather in my pocket. May have gotten sweat on it, but it seems like a little bit of the color has bled onto the click wheel and one or two tiny spots on it are now a slightly lighter color. Anyone else notice the same?

I had a light blue Ipod mini before and never had any such thing (although color did start to fade after a few years). Actually will probably continue to use the Ipod mini for jogging if I can get the replacement battery to start recharging well because this new nano is so small and seemingly fragile. Ipod mini was built like a tank.

I just bought a silver iPod nano from Best Buy. I can't play with it since it's a gift for a friend. It's sitting there, taunting me...
