That entry price was a surprise to me today - reflecting the 13" features not as much. Was hoping for speaker grilles on the sides of the keyboard though, a lot of plain space there.

Who's going for one?

My order is in for a 16/512 Silver with the 70W adapter.

Going from a 2019 16" MacBook Pro to a 15" Macbook Air, Starlight/16GB RAM/1TB SSD.

Me too for what I'm replacing! Picked up a Midnight/24GB RAM/ 2TB SSD

I finally got sick of having it get hot on me for almost anything I did graphics-wise.

I know performance won't be as great as the 14" M2 Pro, but the screen size, weight, and costs all check the boxes I was looking for.

What was your reason for upgrading?

16GB/1TB in Space Gray ordered for in store pickup to replace my 2018 MacBook Pro 15. So pumped to get rid of this hot and slow Intel Mac with its crappy battery life.

24/512GB 15" in Silver to replace decade old 8/512GB 2013 15" Macbook Retina. Been waiting on the new 15" model for a year or more hoping my ancient creaking Mac would survive long enough (which it just has, yay). Opted for 24GB RAM to be future proof for photography workflows and hoping I get another decade out of it.

I’m tired of mine getting hot for just surfing the web haha. I don’t do much on my Mac. Occasional video editing, surfing the web and watching YouTube. The 16 inch MacBook Pro M1/2 is way too big and heavy and expensive and overpowered for what I need.

Replacing my 16” 2019 MacBook Pro with the 15” Air 16GB/2TB. My Pro was maxed out and easily the worst Mac I’ve ever owned. I’m looking forward to the lack of fans spinning loudly every time I open an app and not getting panics (GPU, Hiberbate Restore) every time I close it. Instead of running a Windows VM for my digitising software I bought a Windows machine for that so I don’t need another Pro. I will miss having my entire video library downloaded on the SSD though!

I ordered immediately.

The only slight disappointment to me was that I was hoping they would have slightly raised the screen resolution, as they did with the 14 and 16 inch, to avoid fractional scaling at the default scaled resolution. However, they did not. It’s still the same as the original 15” retina, plus 64 extra pixels for the notch area (2880 by 1864 pixels). So the 14” Pro is actually higher, but I guess that’s a pro benefit.

Very interesting to read, as I have that 2019 laptop and was thinking if/when I upgrade it, the 15” air may work for me. What apps or uses do you think the new Air will handle better though? VM stuff etc.? Just curious…
I might just be using different apps but the base model 2019 has been working great for me.

About to pull the trigger on a Midnight/24GB/1TB or 2TB with a company discount.. though it would cost $600 more to go for a 14" MBP with 32GB/1TB.. decisions, decisions.
(Upgrading from a 2015 13".. lol)
