Just ordered 16GB/512 SSD/ Midnight - delivery estimate June 14th -16th. UK.
Seems that any configuration with 16GB is 14-16th and 8GB delivers on release day of 13th. I hope apple do their usual of delivering earlier than estimated as I'm going on holiday on 15th!

Yea it’s probably because they are custom machines. I also opted for the 70w charger rather than the dual port charger, that seemed to affect the delivery date too.

Upgraded from the 2022 8/512 Starlight model to the 15” same specs. Apple offered $703 trade in so I took the bait. No reason to upgrade other than to get a bigger screen.

Luxury.

I also opted for the 70w charger and my pick up date is still on the 13th.

Seems Apple are pushing people towards the 8gb configuration. I really don't understand why you'd spend £1400 on a laptop and not go for 16gb.

I configured mine to the 16GB because my 2019 MacBook Pro 13” had 8GB, it’s now no longer enough for me. I don’t need the processing power of the M2 Pro or the M2 Max, so the 15” MacBook Air is perfect for me. I’ve wanted a bigger screen MacBook for a while but don’t need the Pro since it’s overkill for my use. This 15” Air is perfect for that.

with the 70W adapter.
Why not opt for a 3rd party charger with multiple USB-C ports?

It would be cheaper than any Apple USB-PD charger and yet be able to charge more than 1 Apple device using 1 power outlet. Useful in places with limited electrical outlets like airports, hotel rooms, etc.

You'd even have the chance to charge other people's devices in crowded rooms too.

The 70W charger comes in the box with the 15” MacBook Air

Yes but you also have the option of selecting the 70W at no extra cost.

I decided to try applying for a 0% credit card with my main bank last night and slightly to my surprise was instantly approved with a £5,700 credit limit so I'll be abusing that to order a 16/512 as soon as it arrives :)

(I'm not in debt or anything like that, it just feels more attractive to be able to pay it off in small chunks over 23 months!)

If the installment price remains the identical to the stick price dividend by 23 months then I'd take the same deal too.

Tough one, because if I sell my 16" M2 base model I'd get maybe $2000 US for it. a 16gb, 512 15" will be $1700, I am just not sure this would even be worth it??

It is other way around: 1700 versus 2400 looks like a much nicer savings. I wouldn’t move if i were you.
But i am having an idea to trade 512gb m1 air for 565, get 150 gift card, and buy that base 15 for 1200 as i work at higher ed.

mmmm... jessica.'s beer...
It really depends on you use of the machine... If you are more mobile and don't need to extra power of the 16", the air is super capable. I know because I have the m1 max 16" and the M2 air - the air is faster than it needs to be for me, the 16" too for that matter. I can tell you that lugging the 16" around sucks.

Not sure I am following how you got 2400? no way I'd get that selling a base model used.
