no way I'd get that selling a base model used.
No, i was just quoting new prices if you were first time in the market. Once used, it almost never makes sense to change as you will lose money.
For a new buyer 2400 new 16 price is too far away from air 15.

My maxed out 24/2 15in MBA (w/ 70W charger bc i guess that matters now) has just started moving from "EPZ, China". Apple says it delivers Thursday 15th, UPS tracking says on the way with no scheduled delivery yet.

I ordered two 16GB/1TB 15” Airs (Space Gray and Midnight) on announcement day and both show ‘delivers on June 13th’ but neither have shipped.

Sounds like these are store stocked higher end configurations that are already sitting at local/regional distributors and will be shipped overnight ‘express’ to arrive on launch day.

Whereas non-stocked BTO configurations have already shipped or are about to ship from China if you fell into the ‘ships in 3-5 days’ bracket.

So, lots of 15” Airs will be arriving next week. Looking forward to all the first look reviews and posts. I’m wondering if some bigger name reviewers will have them on Monday (or sooner) and will be allowed to post a bit early to hype up launch.

Mine has now changed to “preparing to ship“ custom config of 16GB Ram, 512SSD And 70W charger.

Yeah the 16/1TB versions are always stocked & available on release day. I got the same version. Apple seems to like that configuration quite a bit. Those & the base models will be available everywhere on day one, while the other custom configs will be a few days longer wait.

That’s great to hear that Apple seems to stock these locally. I have that config in Midnight coming. I’ve been wondering why mine hasn’t moved to Preparing to Ship but I imagine that’s why. Either way, I’m not worried. When they say I’ll get it on the 13th, I will. I haven’t had a laptop for a long time so I’m really excited.

I need a new external hard drive for back ups. I use a Time Capsule now for my iMac. Does anyone recommend one that they like?

Yes, Apple usually stocks higher spec'd configurations in stores (at least for MacBooks) so that walk-in customers aren't just left with base models to choose from. They used to be called 'ultimate' models, or something like that.

I use the very fast SABRENT Rocket XTRM Thunderbolt Drives for my Time Machine and one-off backups/data transfers, but they've been in and out of stock for a while on Amazon. The 2TB is very overpriced right now, I wouldn't buy - I paid less than $300 a couple of years ago. The price should be going down, so perhaps it's a stock issue, or Sabrent is about to release updated models.

I also just picked up the SAMSUNG T7 Shield 4TB which is at an all-time low price (for a 4TB drive). Not as fast as the Thunderbolt drive, but huge capacity and speedy enough for mass backups - it also has a nice soft rugged coating. Very durable. I consolidated all other random data/backup SSDs into this one.

My Apple Card was just charged - looks like 6/13 ETA orders are going into 'Preparing To Ship' mode.
Apple charged my card around that time as well. Looks like the status moved to Preparing to Ship. Yay! If the laptop isn’t coming from China, does it still ship UPS?

Thank you! I’ve seen the Samsung one recommended before and it looks like a good one. I’ll have to get one this weekend to prepare.

I've had MacBooks ship from both China and local distributors via FedEx and UPS, so it probably just depends on logistics. Side note, when shipping from China, I've found that FedEx is usually faster.

I don't see any entries on my accounts with either carrier, so perhaps labels weren't generated yet.

Does anyone have a specific delivery date yet? Mine is still showing June 13-15 in the Apple Store app. UPS is showing “the delivery date will be provided as soon as possible.”

Update: The Apple website is showing a delivery date of June 14. All the other indicators are still showing what I shared earlier.
