I am seriously considering getting the new 15" Air. I currently have my iPad Pro 12.9 but am going to be needing a laptop and this seems to be a good price for the screen size and power you get.

I'm not going to be doing any heavy editing just using it for day to day work stuff.

I've also compared dimensions with my current work laptop provided by my company and it is smaller and lighter so will be perfect for me.

My best friends hubby offered me a deal end of May to get a new 13” MBA in exchange for $130+my Gen 3 iPad Pro. Some deal with one of his gaming sponsor. Pulled the trigger and went for it. Then like a week later the 15” was announced. Few days after that, he said I could exchange it for the 15” directly. Wasn’t keen on the idea but said why not? No real reasons not to and the 13” was new enough that I hadn’t gotten attached.

Received 15” yesterday. Migrated between the two and sent out the 13”. It’s pretty nifty and I’ve never had a laptop before. The change from being on an iPad exclusively since 2015 to macOS has been quite the learning curve but so far happy enough.

I'm still loving my new laptop. What is everyone's set up? I'm going to be using it primarily as a desktop. I plan on mostly using it at my desk. I was thinking of getting a riser or stand or something like that. My desk is just a tad too short and I feel like I'm slouching too much. The problem with most stands is the assumption that you'll be using separate keyboard and mouse. I will be using a separate mouse but not keyboard. Any suggestions?

Just get the base model 15" Air. It'll be more than enough for your needs. I love mine!

Went from MBA M1 13 to this new beauty. Honeymoon love for sure, but after one day of usage I can throw anything at this beast, even pro apps handle beyond well. So happy I went this route. The MBP is going to lose a lot of customers going forward with this new footprint.

I have been working on my new 15" Midnight Air all morning and it's been a joy to use.

Fast performance, a tight, snappy/springy and satisfying keyboard, a big and beautiful display with more desktop real-estate (without squinting!), it's cool running and cool to the touch, and best of all, it's not the thick and heavy beast that was my 16" MacBook Pro that it replaces.

An added bonus and surprise for me is the quality of the speakers. I knew they'd be better than the 13" M2 Air's speakers simply because there are more and larger, but I am blown away at how rich and full they sound. I'd say they are on-par with the 14" MBP's speakers (maybe even sitting in-between the 14" and 16" MBPs by memory - I'd have to compare side by side).

My experience is limited, but I have to say the speakers are excellent for a laptop. When I was working on a 2015 MacBook Pro I hated listening to music on it. This is a joy.
Due to space after a house move, I had to move from my late 2012 27" iMac to a borrowed 13" 2015 MacBook Pro.
I'm a graphic designer, so found it really cramped doing any sort of work on it. The extra couple of inches have made all the difference. As someone else said, it's probably the honeymoon period, but this is the just the mac I needed, from a price persepective and a productivity one.

Wonder how the 60hz screen compares to the mbp screen? I am one of those with the famous eye strain issues on macs. I have not used a mac since the 2012 matte screens were discontinued due to this issue. I am considering ordering a 15" MBA to try out.

Hey guys, ordered a 24/1tb midnight with 70w charger on 6/8, it shipped yesterday and is saying 6/19. I saw somebody else ordered a custom later than me and already got it. Did anyone else have a date like that and get it earlier?

I sold my 14 mbp to get this so yeah I should probably be patient but I’m going crazy not being able to do any work until then lol. Thanks

Waiting to clear china customs for 16 hours at the moment.

I'm really liking my unit so far, not complaints...due to the increased size, the weight hides itself very well.

My concern is the bottom plate (on both sides) slightly feels like it's sticking out and isn't flush with the sides. For example, when I place my hands on both sides and slip my fingers underneath it to pick it up...I feel the seam/joint where the bottom and side meet. I can't feel it on my 13 inch M2 MacBook Air.

I plan to go to the Apple Store tomorrow and check out a few floor units to see if this is normal or not. I honestly don't think this is "normal" but I think it's probably within spec and could be better/worse depending on which unit you receive.

My 15” Air is out for delivery :), can’t wait to try it. I’ve never had an Apple Silicone Mac, this will be my first and im hoping for better battery life than on my 13” 2019 Intel MacBook Pro

Mine is the same way. It isn't perfectly flush as it was on my 2018 15" Pro.

Since mine arrived I have migrated all my stuff over from my 2019 13" MacBook Pro. As I said in another thread, this 15" Air is snappy compared to that machine I had. Pixelmator Pro opens without even thinking about it, im loving the bigger screen, the Midnight colour is beautiful, I'm definitely happy with the 15" screen, it's lighter than I thought it would be and so far I'm VERY happy with it.

The screen seems to be better on this 15" Air than on my 13" MBP 2019, the brightness seems better, I have to turn it up higher on the 13" MBP in order to reach the same level of brightness on this Air.

So glad I opted for this 15" Air, Good luck everyone with your orders and I hope you enjoy your 15" Air's :)

I wish I could be satisfied with 8/256 but I just can’t bring myself to do that. But bumping to 16/512 brings the price above an M1 Pro 14”. Quite the conundrum.
I wish they just bumped the base specs and I would've purchased it immediately.

Yeah, I have a theory on why this is more noticeable on the 15 inch Air.

The screws on all 4 corners keep the bottom/sides perfectly flush in those areas. But the middle of where the bottom and side meets (on each side) is ever so slightly flexing where the bottom piece isn’t as tightly connected and causing it to feel like it has a slightly sharp edge on the side.

I would guess that if they added two more screws (one in the middle point of each side at the bottom) that it would feel perfectly flush.

I appreciate you confirming you feel this as well!

I ordered a 15" MBA in Starlight with 24G RAM and 1TB drive. Apple shows as delivery between June 23 and 27. It just updated to "Preparing to Ship." Does this mean it will deliver sooner than the stated date range?

The store leader instead approved a straight up exchange from the M2 13" 16gb/1tb to the 15" with the same specs.
✅ 👍🏽 Partly due to this, no doubt:
I just went to the Apple store, and was expecting to trade in my 13" MBA that I bought two months ago.
and the business account you later mentioned!

The photo doesn't do it justice - it is significantly bigger than the 13" but just as light.

Well, .6 pounds heavier… 😎

My concern is that, I have 16 k Ram on my current Mac book will I notice the drop to 8k Ram or will the M2 make up for shortfall in memory

Why not just spring for the 16GB? It's only $200 more, which amounts to only a dime a day spread out over several years. That way, you'd also have no regrets or doubts!

And, if you did ever start using aeveral major RAM-intensive apps in the future, you'd be all set.

These reports are great. Wonderful to read about people's previous models and how the 15” compares — or, rather, is a vast improvement over them!

Also ordered 15" MBA in Starlight, 24G RAM and 1TB SSD, probably the most favorite config after the basic? :) delivery around 25. June

Will replace MBP M1 Pro 16" (16GB/512GB), which will go to my wife (she does design work so will enjoy it more) to replace her M1 Air 13". As a corporate IT person I just need a big screen and low weight, all our computing runs nowadays anyway in the cloud...
