I originally got a 13" then switched to 11" and fell in love with it. But in the last few months I'm thinking of selling/trading for a 13" again because (FOR ME) there's too much overlap in portability between an iPad and 11" Air.

The 11" is an impressive little machine but I'm feeling my infatuation with this size is becoming a novelty but realistically I'd be better off with a 13" because its got a better battery, bigger screen and SD slot yet still is very portable. But in the end I'll probably sit still until the next air refresh.

I think the 11" is perfect for me given that I have a much larger 17" Pro to run the big boy tasks. For a primary computer, I feel the 13" just doesn't have the mustard to be one. I see the 11" air as more for use on the go, on the couch, in bed, etc.

I love mine as well. It replaces a 2008 13-inch MBA that I don't miss one little bit. I'd actually never seriously considered the 11-inch, thinking the screen would be far too small but it's been much better than I expected. And the portability is killer – I find myself more willing (and wanting) to take it with me more places than my old MBA.

I feel you on your last bit there, I'm the exact same way.

My MacBook Air Experience...

I'm new to the Mac family, and I got a MacBook Air on Christmas. It was a late 2010 Refurb. It's a 1.4ghz Core 2 Duo with only 2gb RAM but I have to say it really flies!!! I'm sure the SSD helps a lot but for having such a low processor but like I said OS X Lion Hauls ASS! I'm so happy with my Air and I am really starting to like OS X, though I still use my Windows 7 machines.

Just my two cents.

Couldnt decide

Hi all,

I couldnt decide which size would be best for me, so i've gone for one of each. not such a bad idea as the small one is cool for meetings, and the larger unit is good for everyday use.

Well I finally pulled the trigger. Though all the rumors are interesting I couldn't wait any longer. I went with the 13 Ultimate. Should be here in a couple days. I also picked up the Incipio Feather case, and a PalmGuard.

This should fit my needs for a while. I will be utilizing parallels but the programs on the Windows side aren't very intensive. I would have waited but I went with the refurbished so I saved quite a bit.

BTW this is my first Mac...

Just added the little fella to the stable.... needed something portable as the iPad just doesn't do it for the messing around I'm doing at the minute, so the MBA had to be done.

I get my portable computing wings back and the wife gets to use the iPad a little more now.

Really enjoying the Air and although the battery life isn't fantastic, it's just nice to have a keyboard and some decent power again, rather than just "consuming" media as the iPad seems to excel at!

.... so from a full on Microsoft spod to an Apple zealot in 9 months, I'm not doing too bad. The iPad was the gateway drug!

Yay got both models

After a 2 week wait due to a problem with the order, i ended up picking them both up from the courier depot rather than waiting in. What can i say? i love both these machines.

still cant get over how small the 11 inch one really is (it fits in my shorts pockets!!!).

Have always hated 1280x800 screens, but it just feels right on the baby one.

I can carry both machines around and the combined weight is still less than the 17 incher i've been lugging round the past 18 months. Heaven!!!

Mine arrived yesterday only 1 day after ordering. Wow! The bezel will take some getting used to but I'm fairly happy with the size even though it's a step down from my 15". However, the speed is simply stunning compared to the archaic 5400RPM HDD I used before.

Just received my i5 13". Absolutely love it so far, as its my first Mac laptop that I've owned.

Also purchased a Speck black satin cover to keep it in pristine condition as long as I can!

Every time I've seen this question posted on the forum before, lots of people come and say that they are near equal to new ones in quality. They don't sell refurbs where I live but if they did, I would probably go for it.

Just bought a refurbished 13" 128GB/4GB MacBook Air. So stoked! I already have the 27" Core i5 iMac for my primary photo editing, but the Air will serve as my field editing computer. It's an amazing machine. Should arrive next week.

How many people use a case?
