Just noticed that the shipping method in my order has changed from Standard Shipping to Express Shipping. And also noticed that I placed my order already on 11th so maybe thats why they upgraded the shipping method. And yet still Processing Items and Dispatched in 2-4 business days. Sigh.

I've decided FedEx likes to do the fake-out. Chances are you'll get your MBA 1 day before they predict on their site. Mine is waiting for me to pick up right now when I get home. It was due to arrive tomorrow but FedEx managed to get it in this morning.
My new BTO 11" (base model but with 8GB RAM) just got delivered! And sadly I gotta work til 9:30 this evening before I can get home to play with it. But at least it's here.
So after yet another update saying "at local FedEx facility", I conceded to my impatience and called FedEx. Apparently there is a block in customs and FexEx is working the shipper (Apple) to provide additional paperwork. She said to expect to see an "At local FedEx facility" facility update for every flight out of Shanghai missed...awesome

Ouch! I'm an idiot. New MBA was on the UPS truck for delivery this morning and I made arrangements for it to be signed for while I was work. Looks like those best laid plans failed me. Just checked the UPS site and they're saying they couldn't deliver and will try again tomorrow. I'm just hoping I can go pick it up tonight. I knew I should have called in sick today!

I ordered a MacBook Air 11" plus upgraded the RAM to 8GB on Thursday, the 13th. The FedEx invoice said it would get to KC on the 20th, I just got it today, the 17th! Now that is service!
Mine's been sitting in Cologne, Germany since midnight on Saturday, supposed to be delivered tomorrow, so it has to get from Germany to me in the UK in less than 24 hours. UPS still claims it's on time and going to be delivered tomorrow.

Sounds as though there's a few of us with MBAs stuck in Cologne! Mine's been there about 30 hours now and had an arrival scan but no import scan still!!
Picked up mine from FedEx on my lunch hour. It's in my car...and I still have 2 1/2 hours until I'm off.
It's in my car...and I still have 2 1/2 hours until I'm off.Right, I just spoke to the UPS live chat and was told my MBA is still on time for it's scheduled delivery on Wednesday pending normal customs clearance. I asked why it was taking so long to clear customs and was told "This package is part of a whole shipment and all package must arrive to ship them all." So it sounds as though Apple might have bunched all the MBAs together to get them cleared through customs more efficiently and they're all waiting to arrive in Cologne still before they can all be cleared as a batch.
I got my MBA 13"! Setting up this bad boy now. Coming from 20+ yrs of using Dell laptops and windows, my mind is blown. I have so much to learn. The touchpad is a whole different animal.

How do you get to see that screen?
The shipment status window I get doesn't show any of those detailed, timestamped bits. All I see is "In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule" and nothing more...

haha that makes me even more mad - it cleared customs within 3 hours of landing in Germany but it's been there ever since for the past 48 hours

Mine has just cleared customs this evening so hopefully it's not too long now!
As I say I ship/receive a lot with UPS and never known it take this long before!
Are you in the UK as well? Maybe they're waiting for a whole bunch to clear customs by tonight so they can ship them out to be received tomorrow
