Apple CSR exceeds expectations!!!

Yesterday I wrote: "Called Apple this morning (yesterday 10/26/2010) around 11:15 Eastern time and a very nice CSRep checked on the situation, straightened it out, and said he would call me tomorrow to insure everything was back on track."

The CSR followed up and EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS! So I'm at work this am and the Apple online store CSR (Mike) calls to explain how the credit card situation was straightened out. Says it may be a few days before the preauthorization to the wrong card clears. Then he says to apologize for Apple's screw up, he's sending me an 8GB iPod touch as a gift! :D WOW! Thanks SOOOOO much Apple. I've never had a PC company do anything like that. Kind of confirms that I've made the right decision coming back to Macs after all these years.

No change yet on the order status but the way the Apple rep handled this makes waiting for my new MABs a lot more palatable.

I ordered mine Saturday afternoon 10/23 around 2:30pm PDT. I just checked the site this morning and mine is now "Prepared for shipment" Mine is a BTO/CTO 11.6" 1.6GHz with 4GB of RAm. Should be shipped by later today or this evening. Can't wait to get it!!

I placed my order exactly an hour after you and mine is also prepared for shipment today! :D looks like we'll be on the same plane crossing the pacific. :p
 
I placed my order on the 23rd and I just got my shipping notification!!! Unfortunately, it says it won't deliver until November 2nd :(

Can't wait though!

Funny thing. The Apple Store in Cologne is stating that they now have massive stock on all 4GB models (if customers don't mind a UK keyboard).

Tbf I would think they'll fly them straight to mainland UK, sheesh even the Apple/UPS dream team are not that mad! Are they?

As long as it remains 28th delivery- in transit/on time I'll remain optimistic

UPS: "we have your packages now, mwah ha ha ha"
 
Ordered 11.6"/1.6GHz/128GB/4GB at 9PM on the 22nd with Educational Discount. When you order CTO from Educational site the ship time is 3-5 days not 1-3 days like on the full priced store. Today is the 27th and I just got a shipment notification saying it will be here Monday. Stupid weekend!
 
Yes! Mine finally has shipped. I ordered mine on the 23rd, Saturday evening. It should be here by tomorrow.

Update: I checked UPS tracking and it said the rescheduled delivery date is on Nov 2! Why?! :confused::confused::mad:

Thursday would have been perfect since someone is home to pick it up.

Update 2: Just checked the notification email and now it said Nov 3rd! The past couple apple shipments from china only took 1-2 days to my door. Why would it take one week long?
 
I just called Apple for the 3rd time and this time asked for a manager. I ordered my fully loaded 13 MBA on the 22nd and then added expedited shipping on Sunday. It appears that the CSR charged me the $14 but never added the expedited shipping to the actual order. So, long story short, Apple is MISSING the original shipping range (Oct 26-Nov 1) by a day as FedEx now says the ETA is Nov 2. I'm really angry about this as needed this unit no later than Nov 1 for some business travel. I'm calling around the area stores but I get a "we don't stock this unit message." What to do?? The manager is supposed to be watching my tracking but now that it is sitting in China on a pallet there is nothing to do. I'm really close to canceling and then reordering after this trip however, I have a buyer for my MBA 2nd Gen and don't want to lose that opportunity.

This is the first time I can say I'm an UNHAPPY Apple customer!
 
Got my BTO 13 today. Still getting it set up. Going to install Logic and see how well it handles it.
 
Guys, it's after 5:30 in Cologne, more than 18 hours after they arrived, and they're still sitting there.

According to the UPS tracker it is "Service:Expedited". God knows where it would be if it was standard. Probably on the back of a Rickshaw in Beijing.
 
Yes! Just tracked and saw the big green Delivered

Ordered the 20th and used the free shipping, was supposed to get it tomorrow, got it a day early in NYC.

Just gotta wait 5 more hours until the work day is over to play with it.
 
Sent Jobs an email complaining about our 18+ hours in Cologne, and the world tour that preceded it.

Pointed out that Americans got their MBAs yesterday.
