I placed my order on Saturday 13 at around 10 am est. (13.3, 2.13 ghz - 4 gb) along with an ipod and the free printer apple offers. I just got sent an email today and charged at about the same time, Sunday 14 at around 10 pm. Air should arrive on the 19th.

Dear All,

I am happy as a small kid! I am overwhelmed by the smell of new mac's! :D

De MBA11.6" "ultimate" is above expectations. The screen is awesome and crisp. Way better then one might expect after reading some bad comments about it. The 27" ACD is amazing as well, though it is a bit yellowish in comparison to my MBP 17" which in my opinion have an awesome screen. Despite the yellow tint in it, I find it a warm and nice screen to look at. Time will tell how I like it after days of designing on it. (I am an audio circuit board designer).

All with all, very happy and it was worth the wait. And again, the MBA is amazing! Must be felt, seen to believe.

With kind regards,
Bas

I've been looking forward to posting in this thread for awhile. I can't thank this community enough for helping me with what proved to be a much more difficult decision than I anticipated.

I just ordered a 13"/128/4GB from MacMall. Total shipped cost was $1,318 - a much better price than my employer's discount and as low as anything that might come around during the Black Friday weekend I'm sure.

Now I'm just praying that it arrives in a reasonable amount of time and isn't DOA!

Finally Decided! Got a MacBook Air 11.6".

After three visits to the Apple Store and two canceled online orders, I finally picked up my MacBook Air 11.6/1.6GHz/4GB/128GB.

I had originally ordered the 13/2.13/4/256, but thought that would overlap too much with my 17" MacBook Pro 2.53 (early 2009). I really wasn't looking to replace the MacBook Pro, so I cancelled the order. I also have an older 15" MacBook Pro (late 2006) that I use mostly as a MS Remote Desktop client connected to a 27" Dell u2711.

Then I ordered the base 11.6/1.4/2/64, but canceled that order. I thought I would future-proof myself, or at least extend the life of the MacBook Air by going for the "ultimate". So I dropped by the Deer Park, IL Apple Store and picked up the ultimate 11.6.

So far, I've reinstalled Mac OS X (removed languages), reinstalled iLife (only wanted iPhoto and iMovie). I installed a few basic utilities and apps including DropBox, Remote Desktop, Twitterific, and Xcode.

The 11" inch really sings to me. I've owned most of the small Apple notebooks, including a PowerBook 100, 2400c, and two 12" G4's. This 11" is really the successor and so much more. So light and portable. I'm not a frequent traveler, but I like to use my computer around the house. Lugging the 17" really wasn't that much fun in spite of just moving between floors. Now it can stay at my desk.

Mine got here last week... 13/1/86/4/128 from MacMall... about 2 weeks from order to arrival as they did not have them in stock... So far, very happy... quiet, not heating up, runs everything I toss at it... Lightroom 3 very snappy... and it fits in a mailer envelope... will right a more extensive review sometime... but right now, satisfied...

Just ordered my first apple machine, a 13" maxed out MacBook air, after spending 20+ years developing software for PC/Windows.

For some reason although it says dispatched in 4 days, they are quoting another 12+ days until delivery.

Not told the wife yet

Ignore the tracking bit. Mines is showing that it will be delivered in 5 days... yet it was already delivered 4 days ago... unless they were kind enough to add a free MBA to my order :D

Congrats! :D

I hope you find the following useful

"MBA & Applecare envelope arrived via UPS @ 11am today.
For those in UK with other stuff ordered that has to be merged in transit:
Ordered 28th
Dispatched 1 November
Final carrier (UK Distribution Center) & tracking info (that didn't work!) late on Saturday 6th
UPS tracking info Monday 8th
Delivered today 9th
Hopefully, those in the same boat or plane can use the dates to get a good idea of when you'll get your delivery. The uncertainty bugs me & I know from a past order it's a lot more fun tracking your Mac from China.
Good luck to all those still waiting..."

The 'merge in transit' stuff only applies if you ordered anything else, otherwise you'll get yours quicker than I did AND have the pleasure of tracking it from China as soon as it's despatched.

Good Luck,
Roger

Thanks Roger and The Samurai, I never knew it could be such fun working out when your new machine would arrive.

Gives me time to sweeten the wife up before it arrives

I ordered the 13" Macbook Air CTO on the evening of the 13th and it is on it way home to Montana. It just cleared Anchorage. Looks like it will have plenty of company on the flight.
