After reading many threads I finally decided and ordered the M2 Pro 10/16 16GB 1TB, today.

Delivery in Holland around 13 - 15 February; just on time for my birthday 🥳

Perfect machine IMHO......same exact config I purchased and just received yesterday.
Looks sweet......

Bummer is we are painting our whole interior of the house and it's an absolute mess.....need to wait 1-week until we're done to set it up. Damn'......

Is it common for Apple to give a longer delivery time such as 3-4 weeks and then suddenly shorten it to 2 weeks?😂
When I ordered, it showed more than 4 weeks at 01-08 March (?!!), so based on what I read here, I'm hoping it gets shortened to mid Feb🤣

Order one week ago M2 Pro 16/512 with 10GB ethernet. Still in process. :( Maybe any issue with M2Pro and 10G ethernet?

My delivery date keeps getting re-scheduled. First it was this Tuesday, then it went to Wed, then back to tues. and now says THURSDAY! The current UPS status says it left Anchorage very early this morning ! WTH! I have ordered many many many Apple devices and never had this much discrepancy on the delivery date. Makes it a little hard to plan. sigh.

I'm still trying to understand the desire to order 10g ethernet. I know it's only a $100 option, but I'm not seeing value for a home system. I'm sure I'm missing something here.

Those who run a VMware environment with NAS-based storage will get a huge benefit if the storage for the compute is 10x faster. Given that storage is now frequently NVME SSDs, that 1GbE link (call it 100-125MB/s) is a constraint.

There are plenty of use cases for video use (video, as you might expect, has huge files) and 10GbE networking.

Outside of professional and near-professional use cases like that, I don't think there's a huge push for 10GbE in the home, at least at the moment. Those who could stress 1GbE know who they are, and they have that $100 option now.

Honestly, I wanted to select this option, until I realised what it would cost me to make my home 10GbE proof (routers, switches, cables).
I would think your router would be fine; you’d attach all your stuff (that was 10GbE, at least) to a new 10GbE switch; in some cases existing wiring would be fine but in others you’d need new wiring, and you’d then uplink from the 10GbE switch to your router for internet traffic (which, assumedly, is far slower than 10GbE.)

Yup and while adding everything I thought I don't need 10 GbE right now because literally nothing in my house or workflow is depending on it or even equipped for this, and when the time comes, I'll buy a dongle ;-)

I guess if it's backward compatible it's kind of looking forward to when it's common. My thought is I'd more than likely be ready for a new machine at that point.

I ordered M2 Pro 12/19 core - 32gb ram 1tb SSD on 1st of February
it amazingly shipped on the 4th of February from China
and apple says delivery for 9th of February for UK

It's in Cologne right now the 6th of February

Ordered mine 3 Feb, today (6 Feb) Apple order status tells me shipment is being prepared. Hopefully it comes sooner rather than later...
That's fast, compared to some countries like mine where it's taking 4 weeks🤦🏻‍♂️😂

I've never heard much about such discrepancies too. Are you based in Alaska?
