paying 2000 U$ for a laptop that dont have HDMI , full hd display and a descent graphics card.. the only new thing here is the processors that been on other laptops for months !!! then apple comes launch a "new" laptop with i5/i7 and add a stupid GPU and call it new ! more powerfull ! with a 256mb card, is a joke for 1799U$ really.. its a ****ing joke ! 256mb of video i have on my macbook pro from 2008 !!! HDMI and FULL HD display where is ?? any crap laptop from HP costs 1500u$ delivery 1gb GPU card , FULL HD display and HDMI , apple have a 100000x better case ? for sure , the design kills anyone ,the batterie life is amazing ( maybe thats why he uses crap GPU cards ? to save batterie life ? ) but the most important the hardware , they lose hard ! for the price they are asking you can get a muuuuch better laptop that dont have an apple ( and im a big apple fan , believe me )
here is the config of a laptop im looking for after todays apple launch.
i7 1.76ghz QUAD CORE (3.06ghz) the top of the line
8gb of ram DDR3 1066mhz
RADEON 5830 HD 1GB dedicated video
640gb HD
HDMI
FULL HD Display 1920x1080 anti-glare 15,6" ( apple talks about a 1680x1050 diplays like a FULL HD display... wake up apple !!!! )
ALL OF THAT FOR LESS THAN 1800U$.
just would like to hear what you guys think.. beside im buying anything apple launches please.
Gotta agree with the fact that this belongs in another thread!
First of all!
Video memory has very little to do with overall performance of a GFX - The only place you are gonna feel the difference is at higher resolution, and the resolution shipped on the MBP's are easily runned by a 256 and 512 Mb GFX
Full HD on a laptop? Yeah i guess the extra desktop workspace is nice, but i personally think that a 15" is too small for a resolution like that. "But i can see Full HD content on my laptop" - Yes, you can - But you simply can't the extra amount of detail, for that you need to a 50"+ display.
HDMI on a laptop - I both agree and disagree with you here. Sure HDMI is nice, but i like the idea that you can connect different external devices with Apple's adapters, no matter if they use VGA, DVI or HDMI.
Of course have also made the adapters to make some extra money, and for that i don't like them - Don't get me wrong, Apple should make money, but not by removing something just make it an buy-seperately option.
And last - Apple's notebooks are mainly portable products, and are not made to be desktop replacements, therefore batterylife is very important to them - I'd reckon you will be able to pull around 2 hours on the machine you posted.
And the 5830 is like the slowest card in the 58XX family, so i doubt that Starcraft 2 will run smoothly at max resolution with all eyecandy turned on.
