Just got my 15" MBP with anti-glare screen! The only 15" anti-glare that the Toronto store stocks is the high-end model, so I got that.

Model: - MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009)
Codename: - ?
Build Country: - Your Mac was built in Changhai, China.
Build Year: - Your Mac was built in 2009.
Build Week - Your Mac was built in week 42 of that year (October).
Production Nr.: - Your Mac was number 685 to be built that week.

Mmmm, no wonder they were so confident that there would be enough stock, that they didn't need to put one aside for me ahead of time :p

So far I'm very happy! Now to see if I can rescue the data from my old, expired HP...

you didn't want to wait for the update?

Obviously not right? There is nothing wrong with buying a MBP today is there? The current ones are still going to be just as good as the day it was purchased in two months right?
I have one point
you see the MBP is 3 year old technolegy is like buying new car dealer left over model 2007 why to pay full price when you can buy a 2011 model in 3 month for the same price
botom line the MBP with the duo 2 cure shuld cost less.

Wow that is one long run on sentence. Please tell me what a duo 2 cure is and why it shuld cost less?

So then tell me why Laptop Mag named Apple's current lineup best laptop line of 2010 with outdated tech? Give me a break troll.

Because sometime the 2011 car looks like crap and I want the design before the face lift.

He's not trolling, it's a fair question. It seems strange to order a highly spec'd machine now when there's a good chance you'll be able to get the same power for less money, or more power for the same money in a few days.

This is a very touchy thread to mention any updates though as people don't want their decisions being questioned when they've just plonked down thousands. There should be a warning! "Only compliments or you be trollin'!"

Woo! Just got my first ever Mac for my birthday. So happy with it. :D

ps. Don't really care about the new Macbook's that are coming out.

I have two white 13" MacBooks that are two and three years old, respectively, that I want to replace. One is my wife's (and she doesn't need horsepower in her Mac) and the other will be my mobile surfing & Photoshop editing machine, so I could use a bit more horsepower, but no need for a screamer.

So I just bought a 13" MacBook Pro 2.53mHz/4GB/250GBHDD version and replaced the HDD with an Hitachi 320GB 7200RPM HDD I already had in my earlier MBP.

I'm loving this machine and find it crunches in Photoshop magnificently. And, of course, no problemo multi-tasking in Firefox, Mail, iTunes, Lightroom, and Photoshop concurrently. So far 4GB of RAM is plenty.

I plan to use this machine until the new MacBook Pros have come out and been out for a couple of months so I can evaluate how things are going with the new models... then decide on one and pass this just bought 13" MBP to my wife.

Acquiring this new MBP (for $1400 with rebate) has satisfied my desire to acquire a new Mac for the time being, so I can calmly await the new models and patiently sit back to watch how they work out.

It appears as the new Mac Book Pros will be 15" models priced at $1800, $2000, and $2200, and of them I'll probably go for the $2000 machine, so $1400 seemed very reasonable for the MBP I just bought.

Even this mid-level (2.53mHz/4GB) Mac Book Pro is a fantastic little computer. I use a MacPro at my main desk and iMacs at alternate desks and this little MBP holds its own compared to them quite respectably. I can't imagine the new models being so dramatically different as to make this recently acquired MBP feel "old".

Just ordered my new 15" Macbook Pro: 2.66Ghz Core i7, 8GB DDR3 RAM, and High-Res Glossy Display :D

So excited to get it!

Just ordered my new 15" Macbook Pro: 2.66Ghz Core i7, 4GB DDR3 RAM, and High-Res Glossy Display HDD @7200 rpm

I'm never sure about the HDD speed. Some say higher rpm can reduce battery

I ordered the vanilla 17" model. My wife wants a laptop to sneak off to the bedroom with for Movie editing - apparently I won't get off the 27" iMac long enough! I was just waiting for the quad cores to hit, now I've pulled the trigger.

Just ordered 15" i7 with hi-res glossy display and 7200rpm HDD.

After months of waiting for Arrandale, waiting for it to actually ship to me will be sweet!

This is the first bump which is tempting, I'm on a Feb 2008 model, still works fine, but this would give a decent speed up (think aperture, XCode and lots and lots of video conversions), unibody and the hi-res screen .. grr, I said I'd make this one last 4 years too ..

Come on, you have to wait for at least one more refresh before you upgrade...Supposedly they'll be a bigger one in the fall anyway. This one doesn't seem to be much of a change.

Great to see the new Processors Finally come out!!!....Enjoy everyone!!!...:D

I'm still Lovin my C2D MBP!!!!...Super Fast....so you guys should be FLYIN'!!!....:D
