Just ordered the 13" MBP....I held off for a month and I believe it will be worth it! Dell laptop going back to employer! :apple:

Absolutely...$1164.44 lighter, but very much happier!

Just ordered my very first Mac for college! Got the RMBP lower end and honestly want to die with happiness. Says it'll ship in 2-3 weeks and I will be counting the days!!! Too pumped for words!

Got it over with finally, ordered:

MacBook Pro 15-Inch (Fat Model)

2.7GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.7GHz
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
750GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm
SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
MacBook Pro 15-inch Hi-Res Antiglare Widescreen Display

I will sell the Apple gift card, 8 GB RAM and 750 GB HDD to offset the purchase of a 256 GB Samsung 830 SSD, 1 TB WD HDD and OptiBay. This should last me a few years and I can upgrade it later!

Just ordered a Retina MacBook Pro 15'' , gotta wait until ~July 6th to get it -_- . Can't believe this huge delays

Spent 2600$ USD 256 GB Drive / 16 GB RAM

I feel like I'm the only one that ordered the fat model. I'm glad there are now two of us rare breed that did lol!

This will be my second Mac, actually.

First Mac from ~10 years ago:
iBook G4 1st gen
12" base model (1024x768) + WiFi module
~$2000, education pricing, yay for $2300 lottery winnings
RAM upgraded from 256MB (128-soldered + 128-stick) to 640MB afterwards

Replaced the above with a 1st gen netbook, not any faster but a lot smaller. It's a Japanese model so I spent in the neighborhood of $2200 in 2007 dollars, plus another "sidegrade" a year later for $300:

800MHz Intel A110 (predating the Intel Atom line!) with 1GB RAM
10" 1024x600 'convertible'
extended battery option
Vista 32bit Home Premium (English, retail)
went from 30GB HDD to 32GB SSD (the 'sidegrade')

Second Mac:
MBP + Retina
2.7GHz CPU upgrade
16GB RAM upgrade
512GB SSD stock
TB-to-GigE adapter
$3328 plus $20 fast shipping and taxes

All you guys purchasing your first Mac today, congrats! And from now on you'll spit at the thought of purchasing a PC every again. :p

Got me an entry-level Retina MBP.

Holy crap. I just ordered the macbook pro retina base model 15 inch mid 2012 256gb ssd 8gb ram and the whole shazaam.

And they are telling me to wait 2-4weeks and Delivers 02/07/2012 - 13/07/2012 via Standard Shipping

OMG can't hold it anymore!

Just ordered a baseline 15" Retina mbp with Higher Educational discount for £1,528.80 including £70 iTunes voucher. The dispatch time was only 5 to 7 days last night, but I was not going to pay £300 extra for that.

The dispatch time is 2 to 3 weeks, with delivering time between 3/7 to 9/7. All my online macs have been delivered ahead of schedule, lets hope it is the same for this machine.

Going to decide either keep this or the 1080p 13" Sony Vaio Z when they both arrives.

My first!

Im very happy to finaly become a MacBook Pro owner. Made the order as fast as I could yesterday on a new MacBook Pro Retina.
The shippingdetails tells me it will be shipped in 5-7 buissnesdays.....can't wait!

Im really happy I was fast, cause now the store tells me it will take 2-3 weeks (Swedish store).

:)

Mine says Delivers between June 18-20. Still in the "processing items" phase. I am ready to have it now! :D

Ordered Retina Pro with 16GB RAM

I went nuts last night and ordered the new Retina unit with just the 16GB of RAM upgrade. I will have a 2011 Macbook Air 13" with 256 SSD available for sale in about 2-3 weeks when this unit ships.

I fear even at 4.5 pounds I am going to regret the weight bump! I also think it will be a while before apps / icons get the retina bump and accessories like case etc. show up for these as it is an expensive one model only piece.

If interested in my air I can tell you it is flawless and has had full case/keyboard condoms ever since day one!

Did anyone else order the new Retina Pro?

Where did this addiction come from? I was PC for life until that damn 2011 Air came out!

Tried to order last night when it was still at 5-7 Days shipping but the Santander UK credit card protection system decided that Apple, myself, or both were scammers and blocked the transaction. The nice automated phone system had already decided to call it a night then and rang me up only at 8am this morning. Long story short, finally ordered it, but am stuck in the 2-3 weeks queue. Although I too have a feeling that the lead times will be cut short at some point, it has often happened for online Mac orders...

Ordered a:

15-inch Retina MBP
2.6ghZ quad-core i7
16gb ram
512gb storage

With the educational discount (I'm a university student) it set me back $3,199 (Aussie dollars). Was not easy parting with my hard-earned cash, especially as a uni student that pays his fees up front instead of taking on a HECS debt.

Managed to slip the order in right after it swapped to 2-3 weeks, so hoping desperately that the ship time cuts down to sometime in the next few days, as it's been known to happen. Pretty excited though!

It will be an adjustment coming from the Air, yes. It will feel like a brick for a while. But the MBP is so much more versatile and w/ discrete graphics, it's a worth trade off. It's kind of funny how the Air has readjusted the meaning of "light laptop." Before it, 4.5lbs was considered feather weight. Ha.

Ordered the Base Configuration with 16gb RAM.

$2340 after Tax. Getting 5% Discover Cashback (Should be about $110) and Going to sell the App Store Card for Hopefully like $90 so about $2140 after all is said and done.

Ordered the top end 13" MBP model with the $100 app store card. First mac in 5 years, cant wait!
