Thx Mac Rumors for the impeccable work.

I held out since January in market for a new MBP. Hearing of a possible redesign I was determined not to buy untill news surfaced. So finally yesterday it did. Just bought a 2.7 / 16 Gb Retina today. Ill be eating beans and rice for a while. Superdrive looks like its comming early along with the back to school card. Estimated delivery of the Retina Pro looks like July 2nd - 9th.

Please set the screen at 1680x1050 or 1920x1200 and tell us if the text is still 100% crispy. I would like to know how well the screen scales to non-native resolutions.

OP....how do you feel about the resolution on that thing? Do you find yourself having to zoom in a lot in order to read things comfortably?

I'm currently at "In Processing" with a delivery estimate at "Delivers Jun 22 - Jun 26 via Standard Shipping"

Anyone else have any dates earlier than that?

Ethan

Mine says In Processing as well with a due date of June 18-20 via Standard Shipping...

Did you ask if they had any other models in stock ? Did they have upgraded ones in ?

They had two of the upgraded models. Two other guys were in there to get the base models, but I got there first. The rep made it sound like they got in a bunch, but she said that she only had one base model. (Maybe I wasn't the first retina buyer in the store like she'd said). They are going to carry the base 2199, the upgraded 2799, and the maxed out version for 3749 in the store.

When it's set to the "Best for Retina", I don't feel that I have to zoom in. When it's at the highest resolution, things are pretty tiny, but still sharp. I haven't played much with that setting, but it does give you a lot of screen real estate.

Awesome and congrats! Can you please let us know your impressions regarding the glare of this new Retina dispaly? How is it compared to the older MBP glossy screen? Does it really feel like 75% improvement?

Thanks.

how hot does it get when doing things like watchign flash or maybe watching a netflix movie?

does running something like handbreak cause it to start burning your lap?

Excellent, glad they have the $3749 model in store.
