Had a 21" iMac on order but cancelled...Took another look at the 21 and 27 iMacs vs rMBP at the store yesterday and just had to go retina. (got spoiled with the iPad3) I use a late '10 13" Air from work, so I'm used to keyboard and trackpad, but need a new "at home" main computer to last about 5 years.

Ordered 2.6/16gb/512gb with ed discount (still hurts the wallet)

Mbp

Hay,

I'm newbie here :)

Waiting for my Mac book Pro 13.3 / core i7 / 750 D / non-retina display. It will come after tomorrow :)

Pray for me, it is first time to own Mac laptop ;)

Bought and got my rMBP delivered to me yesterday. Got the redflagdeals of the refurbished 15" retina for $1869 and couldn't pass it up (was originally looking at a regular MBP for $1500 anyways). Its my first time using and owning a mac since my parents had the old school blueberry desktop mac back in the late 90s/early 2000's and holy crap has it come far!

The laptop is so friggen fast, the SSD loads everything so quick and smooth its not even funny (replacing my 5 1/2 year old Acer who did me well for a long time). Now just to find out what programs I need to get and figure out why XBMC isn't loading.

rMBP

Just got my rMBP today, was contemplating a cMBP, so glad i went with the Retina.. its just too darn nice.

Got BB to pricematch Fry's sale without the long drive to the nearest Fry's store, managed to get it for 1999.00. :)

edit: darn html.

Just bought an Open Box Mid-2012 13in Macbook Pro 2.5ghz Core i5 today from Best Buy and immediately went to Fry's afterward to buy more RAM and an SSD. Now I have 16GB of RAM (Patriot Signature Line) and a 120GB SSD (Samsung 840 Series) instead of the stock 4GB of RAM and 500GB HDD. I'm bummed I didn't get to Benchmark my laptop prior to the upgrades, but I'm very happy with the performance.

Here's my Novabench Results if anyone was interested.

Retina MBP 15" just arrived at my doorstep! Can't wait to unbox this baby when i get home from work. First order of business is to check what screen manufacturer I have. I'm seriously considering not doing the screen tests. If I can't notice anything then it's not really there right?

I just got my rMBP! Samsung

And I'm never giving it away ever.
I couldn't care less about haswell :D I'm hooked on this screen its like a drug. Once using it can't be unseen.

Its a samsung panel, I have no display lag, I have 2.7/16gb/256gb ssd and I'm loving every inch of it.
It was ordered by the end of December, BTO.

This is what I got should be here by the 25th of Jan hopefully Should i have got the 7200 rpm HD? I will use it for worship production, (running live video for song lyrics while recording the sermon to the disk drive. I use ProPresenter. Does a 5400 rpm HD slow down VMware at all?

I researched for so long and now that I have ordered I am nervous. I ordered a refurb Macbook Pro standard for $1019. It will have Lion. I just hope during setup it connects with my Westell 7500 router so I can get the free upgrade to ML. I live in a rural area and Centurylink is the only affordable option for wireless service and I am sure I have old equipment. I am excited tho, my first Mac and it will be a challenge because I have been a long time pc user.

Screen test

My screen ended up being a Samsung, it really is amazing to use every day, game performance does suffer some at higher resolutions, but not as bad as I thought it would. Also mine doesn't really get hot like some people say? It is warm for sure, but not uncomfortable even after several hours of gaming.

Best Buy has 10% off open-box items this week.

I was about to grab a 2012 11" Air for $900 when I saw the store had a 13" Retina for $1400. That's $810 vs $1260, I figured if anything the resale on the 13" Retina would make up for it in 2-3 years.

The screen is just...wow. But it feels weird if I don't have it on the highest resolution setting.

Is that an advertised sale applicable to all Best Buy locations or is that something that your local store is running?

I ordered a refurb 2.7/16/768 retina MBP and just got it in 20 minutes ago. It has a Samsung screen and I could not be happier. :D

Just picked up an open box 15.4 inch retina macbook pro from bestbuy with the 10 percent off coupon, came out to 1740 with tax. Regular price of 2199.

I am pretty happy so far :)

Just checked and I got one with the samsung screen!

Just received my refurb rMBP two hours ago. Ordered the 2.6 16 512 for $2549. Just looked and received 2.7 16 512 for a savings of $700. Looks and runs like brand new. Cycle count on battery was 0. I am not going to see what screen it came with because it looks great as is.

Just got my rMPB 15 2.6/16/256

i got an LG display en have some very faint IR with the checkerboard test. I hope it doesn't get worse. Also experienced scrolling lag on Chrome & Safari, but that seems fixed by using WebKit.
Fingers crossed so i don't have a 'bad machine'!

Was it a coupon from a previous sale? Would you mind sharing where you found it? Thanks.

Its a coupon best buy is doing this week only on open box items. I first went to

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=cat12090&type=page, find your store then click open box button on the left, search through the laptops to find one you want... print out this coupon

http://images.bestbuy.com/BestBuy_US/en_US/images/abn/2013/global/pr/10OffOpenBox_Coupon.pdf

then go in and ask for the open box mac you saw on the site and give them the coupon and off you go! applies to all open box items in store only.

Also picked up a retina ipad for my mom for 456 - 10 percent plus tax!

Both devices look brand new, my retina pro only had 1 battery cycle on it, and when I opened the Ipad box it looked it like had never been taken out of the box, runs great and no problems so far.
