Could you or anyone who's received it do a test to see how long the battery lasts? (just keep track of time when you use it. sleep it when your not by closing the lid. add up the total time the laptop lasts for the times you used it)

FYI for those considering trying to upgrade to expedited shipping my calling Apple: I called Apple and the person I spoke with said that for those of us who currently have standard shipping, switching to expedited would [counterintuitively] make our orders arrive LATER. She explained that that is because switching to expedited shipping places your order at the back of the ever-growing expedited shipping order queue.

So, if we trust the person with whom I spoke, don't switch to expedited from standard now.

Yeah switching is a common noob mistake... lol :D

California resident here. Ordered the high end 15" rmbp through Bhphotovideo.com because they dont charge tax.

I originally emailed then asking if they price match apple's student rates, which is $2399 for the high end with 2.3 ghz. They said they don't but made an offer of $2550 shipped if I can provide my student ID. I countered with $2500 and they accepted.

So I got the high end rmbp for $2500 SHIPPED NO TAX.

Saved around $400 with 15 minutes of negotiating. I'd say sweet score overall :D

Ordered! Pretty pleased with that :)

Ordered a base 15" yesterday, with estimated delivery being Friday. Now it says it's out for delivery today. Shame I'm at work. :(

Ordered my first ever mac this morning :D

15" Retina Macbook Pro, 2.3Ghz, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD

Pretty excited for this to arrive next week :)

I just got a 13" retina MacBook stock with a 2.5 dual core processor 8gb of ram and 256gb SSD for 10% off the ticketed price. After I decided the 15" retina was too big for my taste and it had an issue with a the fan bearing I think. So as Apple care is cheaper on a 13" I will be taking it out to avoid another issue.

I am not going to be using macbook for much apart from web surfing, casual games like toki tori, stacking etc, word-processing, watching movies and YouTube etc. I got a 27" iMac nearly opted out with the 2.5 i7 processor, 16gb of ram, 3tb fusion, 4gb nvidia 780m for heavy stuff.

I am also excited that Apple made iWork free I might not get the new version of ms office for uni next year and use iWork given u can save documents created in pages as word format. Whilst saving a truck load of money, I guess Apples free software campaign is working wonders on me, as they have enticed me the consumer to download their free software. But as they roll out the hardware they got me hooked.

rMPB 13"

I ordered a 13/2.6/16/512 rMPB yesterday about 16.00 GMT.

Hopefully it comes soon!! :D

Quick question, I bought this with the HE discount which come with 3 years Apple Care. I can't see any mention of that in my order, does it get automatically enrolled?

Thanks

Yes - when you look online it wil say 1 year warranty.
Give it a few weeks and you will receive a letter and it will be changed to 3 years automatically.
My MacBook Air took about 6 weeks before the letter arrived and it updated. Im expecting the same for my rMBP.

Got my to Sweden about 22h after I ordered it. It is a beast!

So lovely and didn't even get hot when I torrented at MB/s while watching 1080p in VLC and 4k demo in youtube at the same time while charging.

Sound is good. It is light. It seems to do everything very well :)

13" 2.4GHz 8GB 256GB

Just curious to know if anyone with a BTO model has seen the status updated to shipped? Mine is still stuck on processing and was ordered about 3 hours after the event.

Is the base model have enough ram?

My wife is wanting a Macbook 13" retina. We are torn between the base and the model just up for $200 more. She has very basic needs for the computer. Surfing, email, some iPhoto. Would appreciate any advice on this. Just can't decide.

Mine was delivered this afternoon :D and I'm just running through the set-up process to transfer files across from my Windows Business laptop.

MBP looks fantastic and has been totally silent since booting up for the first time over an hour ago.......lost count of the times my windows laptop has spun up the cooling fans during the same time, even though its simply transferring data and doing nothing intensive

Basic needs => basic model.

However I'd get the next one up. Not for the RAM so much as the larger ssd. She will definitely need that for pictures.
