Ordered a 13"/16GB/256GB with free Beats wireless headphones and educational pricing today. Upgrading from a mid-2011 Air.

I had waited to see what 2016 might bring but I don't want to wait any longer and frankly there's nothing among the rumoured enhancements that are a must have.

Tempted to do the same as well. I think the OLED panel is the only thing that still has me intrigued

Me also, but I think i might just get the 2015 because I'm really not liking the rumored only usb-c and no headphone jack.

If the case leak is true, it'll be usb-c but the headphone jack will still be there.
Oh yea I missed the jack at the top, thats nice at least. Still, for me I'm gonna stick with the 2015 just because at the moment regular usb is the standard and don't want to have adaptors with me at school or anywhere I take it. In a few years when usb-c takes over then I will get the newer MBP.

While waiting for the 2016 to make his appearance I was left with no laptop and had to get one so i went ahead and bought myself a used late 2012 MPB (first one with the retina screen) , was debating with myself if to just go ahead and buy the 2015 model but I just want to wait and see what the 2016 one brings , was thinking it will be pretty easy to ged rid of this one with min loss when i will buy the new model ,
its 8GB ram , 256GB SSD , seem like in a tip top condition over all , 123 battery cycles , not sure how much the battery lasting unplugged as i just got it , the counter says 6:30 hours but who knows , it cost me $500 and i am pretty sure i will be able to sell it for 400ish a few months from now if i decide to upgrade to the new model,

Hello everyone,

I just won an Ebay auction for a used March 2015 rMBP 13' 256gb for £727 mint condition. I hope it was a decent deal!

It will be my first ever Macbook or Apple product for that matter (except from an iPod Classic) and my first contact with MacOS.

I had been waiting for the Skylake mbp for so long but after WWDC I decided I would buy the 2015 no matter what. Hopefully, I can sell this later when the Skylake MBPs are available and grab a new one for minimum damage.

I am so excited, I can't wait for it to arrive. What should I do in the meantime?

Are there any useful resources (videos, guides, articles) I should check out? I have never touched MacOS before (except at the stores) so I am a complete newb, also I have no idea about useful apps, etc.

What should I check when I receive the Macbook? Are there any known issues I should look out for?

Any tips are more than welcome.

:):):apple:

In what ways?
[doublepost=1467545837][/doublepost]SO many of you here willing to pay top dollars for 2 years old Tech. Apple is the only tech company that can pull this kind of behaviour... but it won't last with the way the company is going.
Have you considered this the other way? What other company has so huge customer loyalty that their customer would rather buy their older tech than the competitor's new tech?
And much of it comes from the OS. If I could get macOS on any laptop, that would change the market, but hackintosh sucks, so I can't.

Quick question re: refurbs...was wondering why the 2014 model was slightly higher in price than 2015 model in the UK store..these are similar/same models right?

Ok...so instead of the refurb, I went for Amazon UK:

Mid-2015, i7, 2.5, 16gb, 512gb, 2gb amd GPU from amazon UK for £1599.99...new...but listed at £400 cheaper...!?!?

As posted on Skylake thread, plan is to sell on when Skylake comes out...but need laptop now and can't wait until possibly Sept/Oct/Nov...I'll let you know how it goes when received...

Put that Beats on eBay and get a pair of quality headphones.

That's what happens when you have a bean counter as CEO.

Just bought a 15'' rMBP for $1600 brand new from an eBay store, factory 1-year warranty and everything. Guessing they are trying to move their stock for the new macbook that will be coming out eventually.
