Anyone think $2550 for a fully loaded new, sealed in box 2015 15" MacBook Pro is a good buy ? I was going to buy a used one in CL for $2000 flat but the seller flaked. Found another one for this price new since he purchased the 2016 model and couldn't return this one anymore. Thoughts?
Just out of curiosity, why buy a maxed out Non-TB version for $2,199 when you can get the faster TB version with 512GB SSD and 16GB RAM for the same price?
I ordered from the web site and no option was given to upgrade the Hard drive at the time of my order.
Edit in fact After just checking the apple.com site you still can not order a different hard drive for the TB 13 inch.
That's because the $1,999 model is the one with the 512GB SSD. In fact the hard drive is the only upgrade from the base model.
I picked up a 2015 15" 2.5GHz, 512GB, M370X on ebay for $1700. Still has a couple years of Apple Care on it. The same model was $2100 for an Apple refurb.
I'm happy with it so far. Definitely a good performance jump from my Late 2011 2.2GHz.
Got the same MBP recently, without AppleCare, used from an Amazon seller for $1200. The prices there aren't always that good- I was looking every odd morning until this one poppped up.
I wanted something still in warranty but then read this article and figured the price + flat rate repair in the USA was still a good price overall:

Ran the Apple hardware test and looked at battery cycle and everything checks out!
I'm moving from a non retina 13" MacBook Pro 2012. Call me conservative... I feel good about getting the last rev of a model that's been around for a while and been refined. Sticking with familiar ports feels good too!

I got the education deal with the free ipod touch ... 1728 total with tax.
How does it compare to your old MBP in performance and screen quality? Where have you noticed the most differences?
I have the same (mid-2012 13") and am either considering the same upgrade you did, or the new 15" MBP with Touch Bar + AMD 460 GPU.
for non-touch bar
- Built-in 54.5-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery
for touch bar
- Built-in 49.2-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery
Anyone buy this one? Not sure if I trust ebay for a macbook. If I didn't already have one:
