Ordered a 2017 13inch i5/16GB/256 MacBook Pro yesterday morning. Checked order status this morning and it is preparing for shipment. When I ordered it was slated ready for pickup July 7th. Hopefully it comes sooner. Can't wait! My first Mac.

You’re gonna love it

I ordered my 15 inch 2.9/16/512 yesterday. Still on prepare for shipping.. This wait kills me :p

I just ordered my 2015 model (equivalent specs as yours) as well :)
Sadly the 2017 is $1000 more where I live, something I couldn't motivate for my academy work nor partner. Like you, the excitement is killing me!

Wow, my delivery day just slipped from 4 July to 28 June, which is… tomorrow!

Are they crazy?! I’m completely unprepared. Still have to buy the champaign for the unpacking procedure and, ahem, the USB adapters.

Just got my base 13" 2017 Pro. I'm coming from a base 2015 12" MB, and this keyboard is definitely different. The keys have a slight lateral wobble to them that the 12" doesn't have. They're definitely easier on the fingers though. Also, the KB backlight on the Pro isn't as bright, which I though was odd. Anyone else noticed that?

It looks like mine arrived in Shanghai, departed and arrived again! Weird. It was scheduled to arrive in the UK on Friday but been delayed until Monday

13" nTB model returned and my 15" 2.8 / 16GB / 256GB / 555 2GB model is due for delivery this morning between 10-11am. Don't feel the best about the TB price bump to get the specs but hopefully use will convince me otherwise...

It's gonna feel like a long day before home 'MacBook Pro' time

Well apparently it shipped out on Monday, the 26th, and the pickup date moved up to the 3rd. Here's to even sooner!

Does Apple usually have the 13 inch MacBook Pro without the touch bar with 512GB in stock, or will it have to be made before it's shipped?

They usually have the base model and the 256 version with 8gb RAM in stock. I think that 512 would need to be shipped.

Ordered my new 2017 13" rMBP on Thursday. 3.5 i7, 16GB RAM, and 512SSD. Space gray. Scheduled to be here Friday!

Ordered my new 15inch 3.1GHz quad-core i7 / 16GB / 1TB Space Grey Macbook Pro this evening. Can't wait to get it.
Hopefully a very worthy replacement for my mid-2012 Machine.

I got my 2.8 / 16GB / 256GB / 555 2GB 15" from the Apple Store in Amsterdam yesterday. It was 250km away, but I had to do it. The APR completely messed up, so once again I had to fix the issue myself.

I am replacing my mid-2014 15" MacBook Pro with a 2017 15" (stock high end - 2.9Ghz, 512GB, Radeon Pro 560). I was gong to wait another year, but I just had to go for the new design... also, I can still get a decent about for my current machine at resale.

The wait has been killing me! Should be delivered tomorrow. I don't know if I can make it!

Anyone tracking their shipment? If so, how are you doing it? According to UPS, my MBP left Shanghai at 2116 local time, but I don't see any UPS flights out at that time to anywhere in the US (using Flightaware). Curious if I'm the only ridiculously anxious one, or if there's a club I should join lol.

I just received the exact same one as you! Just arrive yesterday. I had originally bought one with only 8gb ram but returned it to get the 16gb ram. Right now I don't notice anything in terms of speed in opening up applications but I guess it's cause I don't use any real intensive applications. I know the higher ram will pay off in the future but right now it feels a bit of a waste.

Congrats! Mine arrives tomorrow by 9pm. Right now, it is on a UPS cargo plane over the Pacific heading to Alaska. 2 hours, 53 minutes until it lands in the country!

The RAM doesn't play as big of a role when opening or closing applications - its more in how the machine handles multiple applications running at the same time. Running processor intensive applications (photo/video editing, CAD/CAM, and the like) will run much better with 16 vs 8.

I dont do any of that - but I do run VMs, so 16GB allows me to allocate 8GB to theVM while retaining 8GB for the host. Also, I like to have top spec systems so my productivity isn't inhibited at all.

When you guys replace a machine how do you restore your data from the previous computer? Time machine restore, transfer directly from old machine, or set up as new computer?

I'm debating as my new computer arrives tomorrow.

Time machine restore for sure. Got my 2017 MBP and it transferred all my data, settings, etc. in under 40 min. Definitely the way to go.

I don't restore anything. I get a new MBP every 2-3 years and take the opportunity to start fresh. That being said, ALL of my data - personal and professional - is in cloud services. So I'm not worried about data at all, I just download the sync agents and log in then let it sync all my data. It's more just the applications for me.

Yeah, I’m sort of debating what to do at this point... most of my stuff is in various cloud-based services also. It would be convenient to do a straight restore, but it’s also tempting to start fresh. Every time I get a new iOS device I take the opportunity to set up as new.
