Thanks for the info, I just tried calling my local London Apple Store and the guy I spoke with said they only get stock of the custom models when someone returns an unwanted order from online. He wouldn't check either which was annoying.

If I pass one I will stick my head in and try my luck.
Complete BS. (Told you :p ).

But when you insist that the Specialist actually checks on their iPhone thing you'll see they're there. Here's the receipt for mine as proof!

"Oh that's the first time I've ever seen that!", they'll say. Every. Damn. Time. :p

Amazing work on your behalf, I will definitely stick my head in tomorrow and see if I can grab one. What do you reckon is more likely, Regent Street or White City?

Probably White City because the Regent Street staff are more knowledgable about having high spec configs and thus probably sell more.

But here is a way to make an educated guess at stock without having to call or visit. Right now, neither White City nor Regent Street have £2,699 model space greys in stock for online pickup. If tomorrow morning this turns into "available today" it means they received a shipment that morning and it will almost certainly include the high spec ones and so the odds are then in your favour. That's how I found my silver one.

(Though of course, both of those stores could have the one you want in stock already!)

Genius, so glad I posted. I'm leaning towards Regent Street then I can head on over to Covent Garden if I have no luck.

I just ordered a 15" Silver 3.1 GHz / 16GB RAM / 1TB SSD / 560 4GB this afternoon from apple.com in the US. I went with the express delivery and it says it should deliver between June 29 and July 3. I'll post updates as I receive them.

My first Mac since 1987, and I am looking forward to it.

Why aren't they better informed about these configs though? Like, it's in the company's interest that its salespeople know about little things like this. Weird but great work anyway!

I walked straight into the Regent Street store and picked one up this morning. Effortless. Thanks for the heads up otherwise I would have been waiting for 2 weeks.

I placed an order for the following on the 16th (Friday). I am not expecting it to deliver sooner than what it says but I wouldn't mind if it delivered earlier. :D Regardless, I am excited. Coming from a MBA 11, this will be a very good improvement.

*UPDATE: 6/20/17*
It shows "Preparing for shipment" now. :)

As of early this morning, it has been shipped out with delivery date of 6/27 (initial delivery date was 6/29 to 7/3). I wouldn't mind if it got delivered earlier than that. :D

sorry if this has been asked, but does anyone know why every 15" 2015 model on the refurb page seems to NOT have discreet graphics? Is it just a coincidence? The weird thing about it is that they even have a 2.8 i7 model listed with intel graphics, which means someone would have had to upgrade a base model's processor all the way but not the graphics card.

Apple no longer sells the 2015 with graphics card. If you find one on Apples refurb it would be old stock from one of there stores someone returned a while ago but Apple removed the graphics card from the 2015 for a while now. If you want one only get it from a 3rd party seller used.

Well, FU UPS. Supposed to arrive today. Shipped last Monday. Stuck in Almaty Kazakhstan since Wednesday and according to UPS tracking it departed there today. Two whole days later. No way it'll arrive today pfff.

Oh. And UPS still thinks it's on time for delivery today

Kinda having second thoughts on the nTB pro I ordered, thinking I might as well go for the TB because of better processor

I've been thinking about this as well. I spent $2200 on a nTB i7 16gb 512 and I'm having second thoughts. No second fan, slower wifi, two less ports, faster base processor,650, plus the touch bar for $100 more. I'm REALLY starting to second guess myself but the traditional keys and the longer battery life enticed me. Any thoughts?
