We don't have apple stores here in Bulgaria. :/ Only authorized resellers. I even thought that I can go to Turkey to get it without waiting 5 weeks, but I realized that they sell macbooks only with turkish, german and arabic keyboard. Wtf.
[doublepost=1533555496][/doublepost]I am optimistic, tho. I hope I'll have it in 2-3 weeks.

Oh ok that explains it, here in the U.K our shipping dates are a lot less around 10 days.

Guess what. Apple engineering didn't get back to me. I went to a local Apple Store and they ran diagnostics. They discovered that the Bluetooth Module is being wonky and the laptop requires a motherboard replacement. Apple techs gave me 2 options:

1. Return the laptop and get a replacement from Apple (can't replace the motherboard on this new machine because the parts aren't in yet). Getting this replacement will take 3-4 weeks.

2. Return the laptop for a refund and order the same config again and get the laptop in 10 business days.

Obviously chose the 2nd option. I am disappointed that my 1st MBP experience turned out this bad of an experience. PCs have never let me down like this.
why would a replacement took 3-4 weeks?

To echo other posters' experience, my initial date for BTO 13" config being delivered to the UK was 9th to 16th August but its arriving tomorrow.

When did you order? I ordered Monday 30th July evening and it's estimating Thursday 9th Aug delivery (originally 10th-14th). Might even be sooner as it's arriving in Germany today.

Because of the warranty process and the parts to replace the logic board on the faulty computer aren't made yet in sufficient quantities.
he is not returning the computer for a faulty motherboard to be replaced, he is returning the laptop to get a replacement computer.

Finally received my 32 ram/i9 model 12 days after ordering from Apple. Going to compare video rendering times with my maxed out late 2015 iMac to decide if I should keep this one or downgrade to the 2.6 i7.

I got mine from China to London in 3/4 days. You will most likely get yours on Wednesday if it hasn’t arrived in Germany by now and had a departure scan to the UK. It’ll probably arrive in the UK tomorrow and then be out for delivery on Wednesday.

I was thinking of upgrading from a 2012 iMac to a newer iMac, but went instead for the 15"/512GB/16GB/2.6 GHz MBP. This MBP is also replacing my 2014 15" MBP.
The iMac kinda gots its job stolen by the iPad for casual web browsing, MBP for work and Playstation 4 for games. The iMacs main job is now just acting as a extra display to view more documents, and as a Plex server. So I thought it was best to just get a new MBP, and get a 4K display that I can also use with my PS4. If I ever feel the need again to play demanding computer games, then I can just get a eGPU or build a PC.

Now time to get used to touch bar.

How are you liking your new Mac thus far? First impressions?

Completely agree. I recall when Apple made the first 12” PowerBook G4 which I missed out on and wanted that machine so badly. The 13” Alu_MB was great for a time ... but when I saw the 2016 I was like wow and with this years performance upgrades I was ready and pulled the trigger.

For anyone else still unsure if 13” vs 15” just think of OSX’s Spaces ;)

I love it so far. The speed is a big improvement. True tone looks great. The keyboard is better and everything just works. Worth the upgrade to me.

Loving my new 2018 £3000 machine, even comes with a light strip edge -_-:

My 2011 MBP died again (Graphics Issue) so have decided to put it to bed. Was up long enough for a backup and a few other bits (I'll stick HDD in a caddy anyway). Just pulled the trigger on a 15" 2018 MBP with 512GB SSD and Apple Care, the rest is the base config of the 2.2GHz i7, 16GB RAM. Hoping I don't get the speaker or BridgeOS issues that have been rumbling.

Two weeks till its shipped to my Apple store. Hoping it will be quicker!

UPS have missed their 4 hour delivery time-slot I got this morning and I can't hang around any longer so here's hoping they do better tomorrow.

Got my refund processed today and instantly ordered the same config again. Only difference: express shipping for only $8 more. ETA: 8/13 - 8/15, or early next week.

Here we go again. It will be interesting to see if this MBP takes the same or different route to get to me this time around.

Just called Apple support. I’m surprised to find out that BTO i9/32/1TB MacBook Pro is build/assembly in Apple warehouse in California. Does anyone know about this ?

Has anybody noticed that usb-c cables on the 2018 models seem to be more snugly fitting than previous models? Or is it just the case that over time the cables become easier to put in and out and I've just forgotten what they feel like when brand new? They just seem to need an extra push home to connect as if there's been something added to hold them in place.

I think it is more the latter than the former (ie: the cables become worn and it is easier to take in and out) IMHO. I certainly think this is the case with my lightning cable that I use daily on my iPhone X.

That particular config is stocked locally and hence available for quick delivery but I don’t believe it’s actually assembled in the US. (Some BTO models of iMac are though.)

These aren’t new cables though, they’re old cables on the new MBP.

My 2012 Air 13” has just about had its day. A swollen battery has not played nice with the internals/trackpad and I’m sick to death of the screen.

I jumped in for a SG 15”, i7, 32GB, 1 TB. It will be my first MBP since a 17” Quicksilver (way back in the day!).

Primarily to be used in transitioning my workhorse PC and Adobe CS for design/dev over to MacOS.

Hopefully a new iMac redesign is on the way, which will bring it all together over a couple of years.

Also grabbed a Drobo 5N2 and 3 x 4TB drives.

Now to find a decent sleeve and carry bag.

Happy days!

Hi all,

I've got a macbook pro 13 inch TB 16 gb 512 gb on it's way, I ordered it to the Apple store.

Can't wait for it to arrive, are there any reports of items arriving early to the apple store/delivery dates coming forward as with home delivery options?

Cheers

I’ve just bought a 2016 space grey MacBook - 8gb RAM and 512gb hard drive. I’d been saving up for the non-existent SE2 (I currently have a 64gb SE and just don’t like the sizes of the 7/8) but I just figured a computer would be a better buy... Bought the Mac for PhD work. Paid £650 as my friend sold it me.

This thread is for new MacBook Pro purchases only, not MacBooks. Not trying to be rude, just pointing you in the right direction.
