Two machines for one price. :)
yeah, the i9 was 32/560/2tb...
so i had money left over for apple kb, mouse, trackpad, 32 RAM upgrade and 250€ overhead toward a new screen for mini. :D

mini will be better for studio anyway, and has more cpu oomph for logic compared to the i9

How accurate are the BTO time frames? Are you likely to get them earlier then the 2/3 weeks they quote?

I've had my 2017 MBP nTB 13" for about a week now and so far I'm pleased with it. It had a ring around the logo which made me think that's why it was taken back and put up as refurbished. Turns out that the ring was some sort of residue that could be cleaned off so cosmetically it looks brand new now.

Also it came with Sierra and not Mojave which although not a big deal in my opinion, was something I noticed since Apple was making it sound like it would come with all the latest updates.

Finally received my i9/32GB/V20/1TB! That was torture waiting for it, took 3 weeks to get it. Now going to work feels like fun because I can use Mac instead of Windows ;)

Yep. Received my MBP 15” i9, 32gb, 2tb, Vega 20 today too. Haven’t been able to play though as it’s been restoring my time machine backup all evening. So, tomorrow will be the fun day of setting it all up.

Congrats! I would keep it on High Sierra and NOT upgrade it to Mojave. It will run much faster on High Sierra. With High Sierra, everything "snaps" open. With Mojave, not so much. Just talking about 2017 nTB MBP, FYI.

Mojave is fine for the 2017 mbp. I would upgrade and it’s not gonna hurt anything.

Just pushed the button for a refurb 2018 13" touchbar i7/16Gb/1TB. Coming from a 12" 2015 Macbook which served me very well for the last three years considering how light and portable it is.
However my photo hobby (Lightroom/Photoshop) is becoming increasingly difficult to manage with such a "weak" CPU and just 8Gb RAM.
Hope to have found the right compromise between portability and CPU/RAM muscles, should be here early next week ;-)

Just ordered 2.9, 32gb, Vega 20, 1Tb MacBook Pro. Collect it tomorrow as using EPP discount.

This was the only Vega spec In stock here in Australia.

This is the most I have ever spent on any apple computer and Ive had a few.
So much money.

Looking forward to many years use.

Just picked up a 2012 MBP i5 2.5Ghz with 8GB RAM for a very reasonable price. Stuck an SSD in it, and it's flying. Just needs some thermal paste now and hopefully it'll do me for a few years. Great to be able to upgrade these machines!

Well, I don't what's going on. I will say that I just, 30 minutes ago, opened my brand-new 2018 13" MacBook Pro, 16GB, 512GB, i7. It looked great. BUT I tried, THREE TIMES, the simple task of updating Mojave from 10.14.1 to 10.14.2, and it froze dead each time. It's going back tomorrow. (I also posted this in the T2/Bridge OS freezing thread.) Very disappointing.

Received a 13" /2018 i7/16G/512 to replace my 13" /2013 i5/16G/256 rMBP. 2 crashes in 2 days of light use. No complaints with KB, Fp scanner is great but the TB is a useless gimmick and don't see how its a pro feature. I felt the screen was slightly better, but running my usual workload (safari, python, tableau, excel, photos) felt a tad faster but no wow factor. Sent it back.

One of the reasons I switched from Windows to Mac in 2007 is because I was tired of the high-maintenance Windows platform, what with updates needed from 20 different directions, freezes, crashes, hardware mismatches, the inevitable slowing down. I was fed up with laying on the floor behind my desk looking into a box to see what was wrong.
The 2007 iMac I had (and still have) crashed/froze maybe 3-4 times total in 10 years, all attributable to particular and temporary software issues, or its failing hard drive at year 6. I have a 2009 white MacBook that as far as I remember has never crashed or frozen, and the same for a 2012 Macbook Air that took my son through college (that he still uses).
But this 2018 Macbook Pro froze five times in the first hour of its life. Apple can have it back. The company had better do something to restabilize their new models if it wants to see my money for another computer.

Apple are expert at extracting $

I am by no means a pro user, but just ordered a 15” i9 32 2TB 560 refurb
Dabbling in 4K video made each step up enticing, and for me it’s tax deductable ...

But holy moly it’s a lot of money.

Hey, that's just the config I returned! How much was it? It was ~5300€ here.
