wow, that's 30% less.
are macs that expensive in europe?!

it's a refurb - but even so - that's surprising, we tend to think we pay an Australia tax ... i.e many things are more expensive here (esp compared with the USA)

Huh, i just checked, if i config the same laptop on Apple AU, it comes out at 7139 aud, which is roughly 4,5k euros. The same config on Apple Deutchland is 5,6k euros.

So Costco is now selling Macs. The MBP's they have for sale LOOK to be the 2018's, have 2018 model numbers, but all of their descriptions say "dual-core." Does anyone know of it's a misprint, or some special version of the machines for Costco?

Wow - that is crazy money.
Never thought aus. Would be a cheap place to buy apple ... if you came here for it you’d get 10% GST refunded too

Picked up a 13" Friday and have been enjoying it compared to my MacBook. The screen is a marked improvement, gorgeous really. My only issue is the vibration/electrical grounding when charging. Apple confirmed what I've been reading that it is normal and within normal parameters. Their suggestion was of course to purchase the three prong extension cable.

Yeah I feel for you guys considering how insanely expensive they are as it is here. Part of the reason is you pay (I think) 21% VAT whereas it’s only 10% here. It doesn’t explain all the difference however. Our dollar has tanked a bit in recent months and that explains some of the rest of the difference (i.e the conversion makes Australian prices look cheaper when the Australian dollar is weaker).

If you get that 21% back by leaving the EU wouldn’t it pay for a nice holiday?

In matter of several weeks, I've moved to all 2018 MBP for both my personnal use and work. 15" for my personnal use, and 13" for my work.

13" I had no choise, but I just couldn't resist 15" deal I found, almost $2299 for 2.6Ghz 512 GB model anew in my area. I was like why not.

Well. although the keyboard reliability is worrisome and stil hating the touch bar,, my new 15" is fast!

Nice score. Is that new or used or refurb?

I just received a new 2015 MBP 15" i7 16GB. I was considering the 2018 MBP medium to full spec. My decision to get a 2015 was based on price. With the extra money I purchased a Lenovo X1 extreme. I'm happy with my two awesome laptops. The 2015 specs fit my workflow and the X1 extreme will be used for heavy lifting. I also purchased apple care so my MPB is covered to 2022.

Hey we both did that same thing last night. Same set up too. Excited to receive tomorrow.

I ordered my Refurbished 2017 MacBook Pro 13-inch non-Touch Bar this morning and it's now showing as Shipped. I can hardly wait for delivery, I've only ever had iPhones and a Mac mini Late 2014 base model. It'll be my first Apple laptop!

Just picked up a 2012 MBP i5 2.5Ghz with 8GB RAM for a very reasonable price. Stuck an SSD in it, and it's flying. Just needs some thermal paste now and hopefully it'll do me for a few years. Great to be able to upgrade these machines!

I just got a 2010 13" for free and threw a 500GB SSD in it and I'm looking to upgrade the RAM to either 8 or 16GB, since 16 is apparently unofficially supported.

It's running great since I threw my old Samsung SSD in it (which was was saving for an upgrade on my fiancee's Mac Mini, but it's better served here). Got it running High Sierra and haven't had any issues with it.

I'm mostly going to use this computer as a Netbook, and it won't replace my main computer (which is an HP Elitebook), but it's nice to have an Apple laptop again (my previous one was all the way back in 2006).

I too ended up getting my 2017 today. I forwent the cheap route of a 13" last gen Air and the more expensive 15" 2015 MBP.

The keyboard will take some getting used to but beyond that I don't have any complaints. It's light, fast, gorgeous screen, good speakers. I don't love the I/O selection but beyond that it feels like a thoroughly modern version of my first MacBook Pro 13" from 2009 - the first Mac I ever bought new.

And while I wish the nTB had the new quad cores I think the Iris graphics help make up for that somewhat. Animations are smooth and I can play Civ when I'm drinking on a quiet Saturday night and it's like butter! :)

I just pulled the trigger on a pristine Late 2013 13" Macbook Pro (i5 2.4/8/256 SSD/Iris 5100) for $600 on eBay. Hoping it will last as long as my current 2009 17”.

EDIT: Compared the specs of the new one with the old one: the new one is twice as fast in every respect as the old one; that's in four years (2009 - 2013). Shame Moore's Law is coming to an slow end.

I’ve had the 2016 nTB for over two years now and it has been really nice. I’ve had no problems with it either. Hope you enjoy your machine!

I doubt it’s a special version, I’m betting money it’s a misprint. It’s only $50 off at Costco, I just ordered one today, I’ll find out for us. Reason I ordered off Costco is because they have a 90 day return policy.

Apple MacBook Pro 13.3" with Touch Bar - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 512GB SSD - Space Gray

That’s the one I ordered, we shall see.
