Well I ordered a silver 14” MacBook Pro (16GB, 1TB) with nano texture display on 6 December. Seemed like the silver ones were taking a lot longer to turn up the the space black ones. I got a pickup date of 19 December initially but that has come down to 16 December.

Let’s see if it’s an improvement of my current 2010 MacBook!
It’s the 12th and I just got a message saying it’s ready for pickup.

Very happy with my new M4 Pro 14” which arrived yesterday. A lot lighter (and obviously faster) than my Intel 16”, but the big revelation for me is the ProMotion - I don’t have that on any other of my devices.

The keyboard isn’t as good, more noisy and cheaper feeling than my Intel, but adequate. The trackpad is better, however, more responsive, though maybe that’s in part due to the speed bump. Great screen, good speakers, and super fast.

Saved a couple of hundred quid via Amazon, though had hassle getting the correct warranty date applied, so I’ll put the savings towards Applecare so I’m not reliant on Amazon support.

Just got my new M4 Pro 14" as well. I had a 15" M2 Air and decided it was a bit too big for my use case (I travel a lot) so I swapped it. Went back to the classic silver and really enjoying it so far.

Just bought a 14" Macbook Pro 24/512 M4Pro.

Paid $1580+tax for a Best Buy open box that had one of the bottom seals opened and the other one still intact (meaning it hadn't actually been opened). Was still in the wrapper and no battery cycles.

Had previously purchased a M3 13" Air 24/512 over Black Friday but returned it for the M4Pro because the deal was to good to pass up for a couple hundred dollars more.

Ordered the 14” MBP M4 Pro 48/1tb. Had to do overpriced upgrades due to Lightroom being a pig. Paid $2360. Ordered 12/15, shipped today, should be arriving sometime between 12/27/24 and 1/2/25. Not normally a laptop person but needed for work and downstairs. The 2018 mac mini is still cranking upstairs running Calibre, SecuritySpy, and some hard drives for storage. My son has a 14” M1 and it fits in my backpack well and only weighs about 3 ounces more than my ipad 12.9 M2 with magic keyboard/case. I kind of can’t wait even though I’m not a laptop person.

I recently (four days ago) got the new M4 Pro 14" (24/512) and I must say, coming from an early 2015 13-inch MBP, that I feel like I've just stepped into the future. It feels so snappy and responsive (partly due to the display with a higher refresh rate) and I still can't fathom being able to open more than two apps without the whole system slowing down to a crawl.

I loved my 2015 retina MBP 13 with the full suite of ports. Interestingly, the new 14-inch MBP weighs the same as the old 2015 13-inch.

My wife had last month surprised me with a M3 MBA with 24 gigs of ram. It was an awesome machine. But I saw that the M4 Pro 12 core/ 24 gigs/ 512 MBP was on sale at Best Buy for 1799. So today I returned the MBA and got the MBP. Incredible performance and I love it.

Just purchased a 14 inch m4 pro! I got the nano texture version which put the delivery date 2 weeks out from the glossy screen version (which would’ve been delivered in two days). Does anyone have experience with ordering nano texture and Apple sending it quicker than the two weeks? lol, I just really want it badly!

I just received my M4 Pro 14-inch with nano-texture display earlier this week. I ordered on January 2nd with an initial delivery date of Jan 15-17, but it actually arrived January 13th. Tracking mentioned some severe weather in Zhengzhou, China for several days so it's possible it could've arrived sooner. In the meantime, keep watching YouTube reviews of the M4 Pro and nano-texture display, lol. Enjoy your new MacBook Pro!

Wonderful to hear, thank you!!! I’ve been devouring YouTube videos haha!

A tip that Apple's logistics team may not even fully understand. If you get an estimated shipping date 2-3 weeks out, see if there's another way to arrive at that configuration. For example, I just noticed that if you start with the binned M4 Pro chip, the shipping date is 2-3 weeks out for both that chip and the unbinned chip. But if you start with the unbinned M4 Pro chip (assuming that's the one you want as the binned chip doesn't get listed when you start with a higher end chip), your MacBook Pro will ship immediately.

I recently replaced my M2 Max 14" MBP (32GB/1TB SSD) with an M4 Pro 14" (48GB RAM/2TB SSD/Nano Texture display). With my use case, I benefit from the additional RAM and storage more than the additional cores offered by M4 Max. I'm still getting roughly a 50% performance boost on M4 Pro over M2 Max, so I don't feel like I sacrificed anything to get this configuration. The nano texture display is great in all lighting environments, and I feel that's it's easier on the eyes than the non-textured variant.

So overall a woorthwhile upgrade for the applications that you use?

Just ordered! 🥳 16-inch MacBook Pro / M4 Max 16-core / 128GB RAM / 8TB SSD / Nano-Texture Display

Full-time music producer / big orchestral libraries / time = $

Coming from 2017 Hackintosh:
Gigabyte X299 Designare
Intel Core i9 7980XE 18-core @ 4.7GHz (Delid + Direct Die + Die Lapping + Liquid Metal + 420MM AIO)
64GB DDR4-3200 16-18-18-38 T1 (Quad-channel)
Radeon 6950XT (Liquid Metal + Thermal Putty)
2x 2TB NVMe SSD (OS/Work)
4x 2TB SATA SSD RAID0 (Sound Libraries)
1500W Corsair PSU (250W idle, 700W CPU load, 1150W CPU + GPU load)
Bonus functionality: fantastic furnace/space heater!

GB6 Single: ~1,600
GB6 Multi: ~14,000
GB6 Metal: ~230,000
CB2024: ~1,400 MacOS / ~1,600 W11
CBR23: ~25,500 MacOS / ~27,000 W11

Hackintosh bugs have compounded the past few OS releases, been using W11 for the last 6 months, not a fan of the audio subsystem at all.

Started having regular crashes and BSODs the past month (with clients in the room) even when lowering OC, which I knew was only a matter of time with the heavy OC and Liquid Metal, it had a good run 🙏🏽

Been running/built my career on hackintoshes since 2013, I don't know what it's like to have a computer without some kind of unfixable background bug(s) anymore but I can't wait to find out 😂
I know this is old but wow, massive upgrade sir! Hope it’s working out for ya.
