I ordered an iMac a couple of hours ago. My confirmation email finally arrived, with a delivery date of 18 Apr 09. <sigh>

FWIW, this is the 3.06GHz / Radeon HD 4850 model. I think if you get an nVidia model they deliver in a week or so.

(I live in California, if that matters to you.)

Just ordered this for my wife:

24" iMac
2.93GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 256MB
1.0TB Serial ATA Drive
Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse
Apple Wireless Keyboard (English) and User's Guide

Ships in 8 days, delivery between March 17-19.

Well! Congrats on your purchase! I wish the wife and I had the money to update our original Alum. 2.8 24", but not right now. I still want to save up for a Mini. :) Let us know how when it gets here!

I just ordered 24" 2.93GHz with GT120 512mb.

I haven't got the e-mail yet and I paid with credit card so do I even get any e-mail? If so, when should it arrive?

Estimated shipping date is 13-14th of March in Apple site

I haven't received my confirmation message yet either, but I suspect that's related to purchase volume given that there were probably a few people out there waiting for these spec bumps.

£1853, yes?

I will have ordered the basic 24" by the end of the week, my aging iMac G5 is slowly dying.

I was expecting to get at least the middle 24" model for around £1200 but the new prices too high so i'll make do with the 2.66 one.

Crazy thing is my current rev b iMac G5 2.0 20" was the highest end model at the time and cost the same as the now "3rd place" new imac.

bought one from the retail store. no much difference to the previous generation. of course, the price is a bit higher than I expected.

one more thing, the keyboard is pretty small without the numeric part.

I just ordered the same exact setup except I was told that this would ship in 2-4 days and I should recieve my iMac anywhere from the 9th-13th.

Funny thread lol

Congrats to all those who bravely dived in and bought their new machines today, despite the uproar.

Ordered the base 24inch today. £1055 with Higher Education discount in the UK! It's already "Prepared for Shipment" and says should be delivered 4th-6th Mar! First Mac, slightly disappointed with the update but I've waited long enough and I know this will meet my needs for a good few years now anyway!!

Anyone know what "Fast Ship (EMEA)" means, I've been searching and can't seem to get a clear answer??? Does it mean it's coming from China or from a European Distro. Centre?

Wow, I am very tempted, still working out if I need that graphics card or not ?

Just ordered the high-end System:

3.06GHZ INTEL CORE 2 DUO
4GB 1066MHZ DDR3 SDRAM-2X2GB
NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 130 512MB
1.0TB SERIAL ATA DRIVE

With keyboard with numeric keypad

Delivery in the UK is estimated for 13 March... fingers crossed!

Spent a while trying to decide if i should go for the ATI graphics card, but in the end figured i wouldn't need it. Probably use the Mac mainly for Aperture, DVD ripping and video streaming so couldn't really justify it. Not a whole lot of gaming...

Wow, that's quick! Mine says "Fast Ship (EMEA)" too. I think the EMEA bit means Europe and Middle East Area. Hopefully means it's coming from European Distro (after-all, rumour has it Apple ordered these back last November, so I wouldn't be surprised if they've stockpiled somewhere in Europe - don't they have a big facility in Ireland?

Congrats on the first Mac purchase by the way - i'm sure you'll love it!

EDIT: found this RE 'Fast Ship (EMEA)'

If your order is CTO hardware then it is most likely going to be built in a factory in China. From there it is possible that it may be shipped directly by courier. You’ll know if this is happening as the shipping method on your order status page will be “Fast Ship (EMEA)” This means that a courier (TNT or UPS in the UK at least) will handle the delivery from factory to your door.

I ordered the refurb iMac 20" 2.66GHz this morning (UK), it should arrive tomorrow (4th). I'm glad I didn't wait for the "upgraded" iMac since it's more expensive and for my needs (not a gamer or 3D specialist lol) it doesn't make much difference.

My Mac Mini (2.0 GHz Core 2 Duo 1GB RAM - bought last year) has been "promoted" to my media centre machine running Boxee in my living room :) lol

Ordered this morning as soon as the website was up!

2.66GHZ INTEL CORE 2 DUO
4GB 1066MHZ DDR3 SDRAM-2X2GB
1.0TB SERIAL ATA DRIVE
APPLE MIGHTY MOUSE
WIRED KYBD & USER'S GUIDE
COUNTRY KIT,IMAC 24

Estimated Delivery: March 17th :D

Oops, Started New Thread

I think my post below belongs in this thread.
_____________________________________________________

I just submitted the order for my very first Mac (iPod Touch aside).

It's the high end 24" iMac with the upgrade ATI Radeon graphics card. The Radeon is not something I'm sure I'll need, but for $60 CAD it seemed silly not to upgrade.

I noticed a bit difference in shipping dates between the stock machine, and the custom one with my Radeon. The new iMac shows shipping in 3-5 days, whereas my machine is scheduled to ship April 14th. 5-6 weeks! Not sure if it matters, but I'm in Ontario, Canada.

Did anyone get a system with this card ordered early in the day? Was your shipping date also in April?

Can't say that the delay bothers me too much, I need a little while to prepare my MP3s and photos for the switch!

Well, I haven't yet. I'm gearing up to do so in 1-2 months.

24 inch
2.93GHZ (a bit disappointed about no quad core)
4GB RAM
1TB HDD
ATI Radeon 4850
Wire KB with Number Pad

$2100

:D
