Ordered the base 24inch today. £1055 with Higher Education discount in the UK! It's already "Prepared for Shipment" and says should be delivered 4th-6th Mar! First Mac, slightly disappointed with the update but I've waited long enough and I know this will meet my needs for a good few years now anyway!!

Anyone know what "Fast Ship (EMEA)" means, I've been searching and can't seem to get a clear answer??? Does it mean it's coming from China or from a European Distro. Centre?

Wow, that's quick! Mine says "Fast Ship (EMEA)" too. I think the EMEA bit means Europe and Middle East Area. Hopefully means it's coming from European Distro (after-all, rumour has it Apple ordered these back last November, so I wouldn't be surprised if they've stockpiled somewhere in Europe - don't they have a big facility in Ireland?

Congrats on the first Mac purchase by the way - i'm sure you'll love it!

EDIT: found this RE 'Fast Ship (EMEA)'

The UKs (and possibly Europes) distro centre is in Cork, Ireland. That's where yours will likely be sent from.

Replaces my G4 125GHZ with 1GB of Ram.

I get a small educational discount and when I ordered through that online store and the default shipping time for the standard was 3-5 days. The regular online store says immediate shipping. Once you add anything to it, keyboard, iWork etc - the shipping jumps - the memory and graphics card seemed to push it out quite a while.

Not a whole lot of takers for that yummy apple Ram for a cool extra 1000.00

Hopefully they are padding the shipping times and they will get them out as fast as they can...

I just ordered the same exact setup except I was told that this would ship in 2-4 days and I should recieve my iMac anywhere from the 9th-13th.

I went through the education store front since I'm a grad student, not the normal store site. That might be why.

Wow, I am very tempted, still working out if I need that graphics card or not ?

Yeah, since the machine is primarily for my wife I was tempted to just get the 9400, but I do plan on using the machine for editing photos and home videos (to save space on my MBP), and maybe the occasional game, so I decided to get the 120 card.

This is my first Mac, so I am very excited. Funnily enough, my Vista set up is running very smooth at the moment, typical, just like a car that is going to the scrap yard :)

Will be picking mine up at the apple store on the 21st along with a copy of vmware fusion and applecare.

I called apple this morning to confirm my student discount price so its all good :p

Just bought the top-of-the-line one and I love it so far.

Was about $2,200 after student discount + tax.

bought the entry level iMac ($1499) earlier today. Got a fedex tracking number with an estimated delivery date of 3/5/09. Can't wait!

After waiting so long for this update I ended up getting the 24" 2.8ghz ati 2600 hd pro refurb!!!

I'm so excited there are literally no words to explain. I figured I'd rather save 400 dollars, get a better video card, and slight not as good ram. Good decision you guys think? I was struggling to figure out between that and paying 1900 for the first 24" new model. Ended up paying 1500 for the refurb!

Ordered a 2.9 Ghz with 1 TB.

Pumped. Only thing is I need to wait for the confirmation so I can edit the keyboard. My uncle pointed out the keyboard I got lacks a keypad so need to fix that. :)

Posting from a 3.06 that I just picked up an hour ago. This thing is great, a vast improvement over my 17" 1.83 Core Duo. $2032 after corporate discount.

Also picked up a wireless HP printer for $30 after rebate.

Very happy. The worst part of this update is that they were out of wireless sets at the store, so I had to order online and wait 10-14 days! I was able to customize though and get the wired with number pad like I wanted and decided to go to the GT130 since it can't be upgraded later. My old desktop is 5 years old at least, so I wanted to get this thing as maxed as I felt I could to make it last another 5 years! I also have iWorks that I bought with the 2.8 model on Sunday. The store took the 2.8 back and didn't charge me the restock! :D

Got a 20"/2.66GHz/2600Pro refurb for a grand yesterday. Immediately sent back the unopened 20"/2.4GHz/2600Pro early 2007 refurb that I had purchased the week before for $50 more. What a difference a day makes! Apple even paid for return shipping. It never even came into my house; the FedEx man showed up, I put the return pre-pad shipping label on it, and he took it back with him.

Loaded it up with 4GB of RAM for $50.

Actually I went through the EPP store front that I get a discount through work which is a bigger discount then Ed store on the iMac, but less of a discount on the Pro...wierd. Anyway not sure why the timing is different, but I am sure we'll both be very happy in no time. :)

All these people saying these updates suck, yet all these people buying them :). It makes me feel more confident in buying one, if I ever do, might not have enough until the next gen iMacs.

You should - I really think the changes/offerings yesterday were good ones and you're getting some better bang for the buck.

Just popped down to my local Apple store (Exeter) this morning and bought the 3.06Ghz model. The sales assistant told me I was the first person in Exeter to have purchased the new iMac! :D

I have waited so long to buy this machine and I am so happy with it. Runs like a dream and I am confident I will be happy with it for a long time to come! Viva la Macintosh!

Anyone know why the estimated ship time is 3-5 days in the education store rather than 24 hours in the regular online store? My estimated ship time is 8 days since I upgraded the hard drive. :(

Has anyone's shipped yet?? Mine is still on " Prepared for Shipment" estimated 4th to the 6th. What are the chances of it coming for Friday? I've also just noticed that by default they are shipping with the compact keyboard, I read it wrong yesterday, I thought the compact was an upgrade :( I would have preferred the one with the numeric pad do you think there's any chance apple will swap this out either at a cost or through the apple store?

Call the store right away, maybe they can change your specs before they ship.
