You missed my larger point but you're technically correct.

Of course, there's more than that - like iMessage and Facetime, stuff I'm fortunate not to have to use since I'm in Europe.
Europe doesn’t have iMessage or FaceTime? You said fortunate enough not to have to use but neither is mandatory in the USA. There’s a setting to turn it off if you want to

I think it is fair to say most people on this forum are enthusiasts who have a much better knowledge of the iPhone product line than the general user population. So I am amazed by the number of people who ordered this phone and are now returning it because it is not what they expected. I have to agree with another poster speculating that there appears to be a lot of impulse purchases maybe just because it is the latest and greatest or maybe because there is competition to be among the first to have one.

Those phones are now used and can't be sold as new. If Apple wasn't the ultimate ATM machine you might expect them to charge a re-stocking fee.
Yea I'm amazed there is no restock fee for all the stories I see of people buying and returning.

Because it’s a bug fix release for the 14s, I don’t think it is coming to the 13s. Apple pretty seriously bungled a lot of things surrounding iOS 16 and it’s release…

Maybe there will be a 16.0.2, or maybe people will have to wait for 16.1 to downgrade (without using beta)
I'm sort of glad there is no update right now for 13PM since I have to wait until Friday to upgrade (if I can find any in stock) so I don't have to worry about not being able to transfer again due to iOS mismatch

Of course we have them but there's nowhere as much need or pressure to use them as in the US, because the huge majority of people use something else (WhatsApp, now thankfully Signal is getting more popular).

I for example have switched to iPhone since X (at launch) and have used Facetime twice, ever since, and iMessage basically never as I don't text anymore.

A lot of FOMO here and people bored throwing away money. Just to return them and take away from people that actually want them. Screw each and every one of you doing that causing phones to be delayed.
Thank you! Can't find any Pro/PM in stock refreshing somewhat often. But plenty of regulars. I blame Apple too for not being able to figure out the balance after a decade and a half

Yep, not to mention that I saw somebody who said they returned theirs for a different color - for all we know they could've voted "yes" to be funny but it wasn't really accurate to the poll's intent (return, period, not simply exchange) and there may be others doing that. And also not to mention there are plenty of anti-Apple people on this forum that would vote "yes" just out of spite even if they never bought a 14 . . . or Apple fanboys who don't own the 14 (or not yet) who voted "no" to spite the people who voted "yes" etc.
How absurd. What you’re saying can apply to ANY POLL. Just stop. This is off topic.

Add me to the list of people returning my 14 Pro Max. It goes back tonight.

I was an 11 Pro to 14 Pro Max upgrade, which I was super-excited about. Previously I had an 8+ which I loved, so I didn't think the 14PM (size-wise) would be that big of an issue. I even went to the Apple Store (before the 14PM went on order) to see the 13PM, trying to get a feel for it. Boy was that different than actually owning the thing for a few days.

I'm 6'3. I teach yoga. I'm athletically fit, and do strength training exercises every day. And god damn do I hate the 14PM. I live in an urban environment, and walk just about everywhere, and the phone is just an ever-present nuisance.

I totally understand the size & weight not being an issue for some. And yes, it's a lovely, powerful phone, with a beautiful screen. But the actual day-to-day use of it, hands-on, and in-pocket, I absolutely hated. And there's no way I would have known that without having real-world usage of the thing. So thank you Apple for allowing your customers to get a feel for something they're about drop $1200 on. I'll end up with a different model, but stay loyal.

(ps for those in a similar position, I just transferred my eSIM back to my 11 Pro with the click of a few buttons, easy-peasy. Took two minutes.)
Absolutely nails it. 🚀

Yes is correct no matter the reason. Just like I said no because I haven't gotten it yet.

I think they’re referring to WhatsApp being overly used in Europe. To be honest iMessage is pretty prevalent in the U.K. as well. I for one do not use WhatsApp since Facebook acquired it. I’ve also managed to convert people on Android to use Signal for cross platform messaging needs instead of WhatsApp but there are some features in WhatsApp that have a very niche usage that I’m not part of personally but so many others are to my astonishment. Like being able to create groups with huge number of people.

I like the DI also, definitely better than the notch, and I really love the macro photography. Trying to decide if I love both of those things enough to not go back to my mini - do they outweigh (no pun intended) the mini. ;-p

Let me just add I’ve been totally pleased with the phone since I got it, but the more I handle it, the more I wonder if I want to deal with the weight of it for the next year Or more.
I was on the same boat with 13 Pro, the weight annoyed me, not at first, it was a progressive thing.

The 13 mini was too small, so I finally ended with the regular 13 and is great. The 30 grams difference sounds like nothing on paper but on hands, is a big change.

Uh, no, the poll is obviously talking about returns as in "I don't want the 14 after all" not just "I want a different color". And it's also obvious that the OP didn't intend for people who don't even own the 14 to vote no - they have people in mind who've evaluated it in person and decided to keep it. Otherwise, everyone in the world who doesn't own the 14 could vote no, and that wouldn't make any sense. "Look, billions of people aren't returning their iPhone 14. They must be satisfied customers . . . . Oh, wait, they've never even used it" 🤣

So your post just proves how polls like these are not accurate at all.

How absurd. What you’re saying can apply to ANY POLL. Just stop. This is off topic.

"Absurd"? Calm down. And, you're incorrect - a properly administered poll, while not perfect, would easily eliminate many of these problems. For example, only people confirmed to have actually purchased an iPhone 14 would participate.

Some good reasons to return the phones here. The one I don’t get is the size of the camera bump(given that all phones will have some kind of bump); it doesn’t matter to me one way or another. What is it that people find objectionable about this years bump? (Honest curious question).
It's just another regurgitated talking point/excuse that people more than likely would have never brought up had they not heard/read about it first.

I think I’ve decided that although I love a lot of the new features of the 14 Pro, specifically the camera, AOD and Island. I think it’s going to go back tomorrow. I’ll also see if I can schedule a battery replacement for my 12 mini as well. Still deciding if it’s worth it to trade it in for a 13 mini.

I knew I’ve had hand and wrist problems before, but never knew how bad things actually were before switching over to the 14 Pro. Very bad hand cramps the last few days.

Returned my 14PM and went back to my 13PM. I figure I’ll wait till next year for the 15’s with hopefully dynamic island (preferably a smaller island?) and USB-C.

That or this week I’m going back to my Xperia. iOS 16 starting to grind my gears asking to allow a copy/paste from app to app. If I go back to android and if I can still trade this in at Apple for >$700 I may get the 14Plus next month to remain in the Apple ecosystem.
there fixing that copy and paste pop up in 16.1

At some point you have to think user error. This isn’t rocket science. You don’t know how to pair an Apple Watch?
Yes, It's ROCKET SCIENCE for the Manhattan Beach Store to have a almost new iPhone 13 Pro and a New 14Pro and they could not Pair it to eSIM. The Apple Store wasted my Time for Being STUPID! Stop Kissing Apple's Butt by trying to make me look like i cannot Pair a watch. Hey Both devices should've been Paired in the Manhattan Beach Retarded Store.
They wasted my time so they Get a Kick in the Nut's. I am not a Apple Butt Kisser. Too Bad Android is a terrible OS.

Do some weight training, drink and eat more protein

as its been said over and over and over again, it doesn't come down to fitness. going to the gym isn't going to make the phone any easier to hold. it's not going to change the weight distribution of the phone. it's not going to change how the phone feels in your pocket. you could be a bodybuilder, but unless you have shaq-like hands, phones of this size and weight are uncomfortable to use. to some, the benefits are worth that trade off. but for others in this thread, it's clearly not.

14 Pro going back here. And it's due to the weight, it's just too damn heavy.

Came from a 12 mini and loved the bigger screen, 120hz screen and dynamic island. But the weight, been trying to convince myself it's fine but it's not and you notice it every time you pick it up.

Going for a regular 14 and putting the extra cash on a new Apple Watch.
