It's useful in the sense that people often use the phone one handed and it's easier to reach controls on the bottom vs the top.
Didn't think of that - but it is the lack of consistency that gets me - it is one way on most devices but another way on another.

Think I wrote this on another similar thread but
I want to be able to see the WiFi connections that are stored so I can forget (delete) the ones that I don't need anymore and have forgotten to forget while on them. I can see all my phone old connections on my MBP and would love to get rid of them, they have to occupy some space. It isn't that they are embarrassing but things like a hotel I visited on business years ago, a auto dealership of a type that I don't have etc. I just hate not being able to clean up.

Allow me to delete Apple installed apps I don't want or use. Example: Watch, News, Wallet. Make the battery life on 5 and 5s better and fix iCloud/iPhones so that updates are faster.

Yeah, Apple definitely needs to learn from Google with this one.

- Video playback that shows the full length in the scrubbing bar rather than just the small bit before/after current place
- Make the Music app less like a store. Get rid of the banner that says "Showing music only on this phone. Show all music" at all times
- Reduce delay after each animation that prevents swipes/taps from registering until after the delay has passed
- Dark theme -- Johnny Ive seems to want to burn my retinas every morning with the blinding Clock app

1. Allow me to get rid of or hide these apps: Tips, Watch, Health, Game Center, Find Friends, Find iPhone.
2. Customisable Control Center.
3. In Music app, let me choose my tabs and simplify the interface.
4. In Dictionary, make the font bigger.
5. Speed up the animation. Ex 'open in new tap' in Safari. It does not have to fly across the screen for that long. I get the idea.
6. Dark theme.
7. Picture in Picture. Ex. for Youtube app.
8. Get rid of 'Other' that eat my 16GB space.

Apple is alredy testing transcribe voice mail feature for iOS as I read here 10 http://ios10news.com . Below is how it will work:

When someone using iCloud Voicemail is unable to take a call, Siri will answer instead of letting the call go to a standard digital audio recorder.

iCloud Voicemail can relay information about where you are and why you can’t pick up the phone to certain people. But the coolest feature of the service is that Siri will transcribe any incoming voicemails, just like it does with anything else you say to it.

My wishlist for iOS 10 include:
- Multi account support
- Group Facetime
- Get rid of those preinstall Apps that I never used. What are they really doing in my phone?

iOS X wishlist so far:

1. Improved DND, e.g. ability to schedule multiple DND periods per day and/or create weekly pattern, contact exclusions affect not just calls but also messages and other 3rd party apps (see 2)

2. A contacts API which enables 3rd party apps to notify the OS that a particular contact was the original sender of a 3rd party notification. Currently, you receive a WhatsApp from John and iOS has no idea your contact John has contacted you. This API would allow that. Benefits: a) you can exclude a contact from DND (see 1) and their calls, messages AND any notifications from third party apps from them will be allowed through. b) your recent/frequent contacts in Siri Suggestions can be updated when contacts messages you through 3rd party apps. c) potentially other innovate things!

3. Even smarter reminder events like
a) when i wake up - could be based on a multitude of things, alarms, movement of the iphone in the morning.
b) when i call x/when x calls me - stealing from windows phone. (along with contacts API in point 2 above this could also work with when you call contacts in 3rd party apps like whatsapp, skype etc.).
c) when i use x app etc. etc. etc.

4. Multiple accounts. The rumours from 9to5mac just before ios 9 about ios 9 were spot on, and included a thing about multiple account not being done in time but will hopefully feature later or in iOS 10. So fingers cross they come through on this. Hope it's on at least some of the Air & Mini series and not just iPad Pro.

5. Rotation lock idea someone mentioned recently - add an option to allow landscape mode even when portrait locked if a video or photo is on screen.

6. Notification after a screenshot is taken, allowing you to go directly to the photo in Photos (pull down actions might include edit, share, etc.)

7. WiFi management - list known wifi networks, allowing you to prioritise them, view passwords, forget them without being in range, etc.

8. Bluetooth management - allow you to rename/alias devices like you can on mac os - so devices with the same factory name can be distinguished

9. More alarm clock options like volume, fade in.

10. Alarm clock API which lets third party apps set local notifications that can override DND and play custom alerts for longer than 30 seconds and have the same fade options etc. A lot of apps do various things to try to get around this but Apple could help. Would require strict enforcement by Apple so that apps don't use it illegitimately.

Looks pretty but in terms of function, it's way too big. Banners as introduced in iOS 5 were great because they were short in height- the idea was they wouldn't obscure the screen like a popup did. Then iOS 7 made them taller, losing sight of this. Any changes to notification banners must not increase the height further! Imagine playing an intense game and that comes in!

Get real "dude". Google isn't doing the bloat. OEM's and Carriers are. It is getting better and I can disable and hide the apps I don't want (mostly) or buy a Nexus or Play Edition. The trend on Android is to move more and more OEM apps to the store. All I can do with my iOS bloat is put it into an iCrap folder. And that folder is getting bigger all the time.

BTW - TC also gave us a great talk on the iOS9 improvements - just left out it will likely take till 9.4.x until we see them.

We need more quiet/soothing alarm ringers. Right now most of them sound like "AHHH EMERGENCY!!" versus something that's less jarring/shocking to wake up to each day.

I'm sure there are also apps that have things like gamecenter support builtin and won't work if it disappears - unfortunately. It is my biggest issue with IOS 9

Hide? That's somehow useless, at least related with the space. You might as well throw them all into a folder and put ir away, which is what most users do.

Yeah, but when the hell has he ever pronounced about something so concerning before? I know that iOS 9 won't be as good as they promised until March/2016, but at least the "feature to delege stock apps" was discused far away from any event, keynote or whatever.

I only have one.Fix the goddamn lag and stutters
To which I'd also add, fix the cause of random app crashes.

What matters to me is that it's reliable consistent and doesn't cause loss of work due to random yet frequent crashes. Even Samsung doesn't have such basic problems.

Apple is perfectly capable of solving these issues, blantantly letting quality and reliability decline is a nothing more than proof positive they have very compliant customers.

Speaking of the weather app - how about an intelligent weather update in the notification center? If I am looking at the weather in the evening, don't tell me what the high today was predicted to be, tell me what the low tonight will be and if it will rain so I can decide about bringing a jacket or umbrella? What it was like earlier in the day isn't all that helpful.

I would love revamped multitasking on iPhone 6s Plus

- Split Screen
- Picture in Picture
- SlideOver

Also Multitasking Gestures via 3D Touch or 2/3 finger swipes. Maybe a 3D Touch gesture to reveal all apps like the 'Pinch' on OS X for Launchpad (so hiding all apps and making them appear via 3D Touch, so you can customize your Homescreen)
