Or it's all a red herring. 10.3 will be skipped and go to 10.4! Just like watchOS 3.1.2. :D

iOS 10.3 is a lie.
As in there won't be an iOS 10.3 release ever? I guess that falls under speculation...barely.

Apple is definitely known for their pranks and it will probably just end up being iOS Golden Gate release instead of 10.3 just because.

The ONLY evidence we have of 10.3 existing is Sonny Dickson and his Tweet. That tweet has been proven 100% inaccurate so as of now, we have no idea if a 10.3 is even coming. iOS 10.2.1 could be the very last update to iOS 10. (no, I don't think it will be, but you get the point)

Edit: never mind, I forgot that macrumors had data showing visits from devices running 10.3.

Well, IOS 7.1.2 was the last IOS 7 update. So, 10.2.1 will/may be the last IOS 10 update.

Not really. Macrumors showed where they were getting traffic from iOS 10.3 devices visiting their website.

I really believe as its 5 months till ios 11 beta there will still be lots of updates for ios 10 but not major stuff just background fixes etc the main stuff will be saved for ios 11 so ios 10.3 was all a joke it will come but will just same bug fixes etc, i just wish 10.2.1 goes final soon

9.3 came in late March last year with Night Shift, password protected Notes, support for multiple Apple Watches on one iPhone, etc. So we can still get new features with 10.3. They even released iOS 8.4 with Apple Music at the end of June (during the iOS 9 beta period).

Doesn't mean they cannot implement whats in to iOS 11 and let it be. Just because the version exists internally, doesn't mean it will ever see the light of public day. As I mentioned before, up until iOS 6, iOS typically stopped at X.1.x. So anything is possible.

Older releases used to have a lot of x.x.x updates though. Nowadays they tend to stop at x.x.1 or x.x.2 before going to the next x.x update.

iOS 1 and 4 yes. But iOS 5 stopped at 5.1.1 and iOS 6 stopped at 6.1.6. Only about 5-8 updates each for an entire year. 10.2.1 is the 7th update for iOS 10.

My point being that we didn't get major feature updates, only bug fixes.

I still think it's not inconceivable to see a dark mode for stock apps in a 10.x update with an API announced at WWDC. Who knows though.
