Well lets do this logically. 10.3 will probably have 7 betas. 10.3.1 may go into beta and can have 1-4 betas.

So that would be 11.

Now if there is a 10.3.2 or a 10.4, then that number doubles. So we could potentially see 24+ more betas before the release of 11.0 Beta 1. But it could be like 8.4 and we see betas for iOS 10 after 11.0 beta 1 was released.
I can kind of see wondering about how many more releases there might be remaining for iOS 10, but the total number of betas remaining for all future iOS 10 releases, that seems like a much less meaningful thing (and perhaps even less predictable really).

We doubt we will get 24 betas. We have about 5 months till wwdc. That's about 22 weeks. So for 24 we'd need more than 1 every week on everage, with no breaks.

iOS 10.1 Beta 1 came out 17 weeks ago. We have had 18 betas since. There is no reason to believe we couldn't get 24 betas in 22 weeks.

Completely agree, but he asked, so I answered!

We could get there, but I don't think we will, unless Apple has some major features in the wings for the later point releases. The earlier point and subpoint releases have primarily (but not exclusively) bug fixers. The farther along we get in the major OS cycle, the fewer bugs there should be to fix (or they will get put off into iOS 11). So I think the tempo should slow down. Plus, they'll want to shift resources into finalizing iOS 11 on time.

That may be so, but 18 betas in 17 weeks is still unheard of compared to past years. So maybe it shows a change in how Apple is releasing betas. Maybe they think that more builds the better, even if they have very small changes.

Also possible, but I think less likely. I think this falls into their current MO of releasing a "mostly baked" major release and refining on the fly.
[doublepost=1484679678][/doublepost]Ah! This may be our culprit. Check back at 1pm PT for an iOS release.

So this security update could have caused the iOS beta to not release until 1PT?
Who knows, but I think a security update takes priority and they would certainly want to make sure the bandwidth is there to make sure that gets done first.

Good point I hope you're right! Still think 10.3 makes most sense today if it's happening at all.

10.3 is out now

I just decided to update to 10.2.1 beta 4 on my iphone, ipad mini and ipad pro...so I expect 10.3 any second now.

Out where?

Why do you say 10.3 is out now

Not sure why you posted this, but it doesn't seem to be out. Otherwise, there'd be a lot more activity on this thread!!

I reckon they had that post ready to go if it did come out. Unfortunately it didn't, so they left it, but MacRumors saved the draft. Then they came back later and quoted someone- quote was added to bottom of draft.
