3 weeks max for 10.3.2 then maybe another 10.3.x update before 11 beta 1. No 10.4 is my guess

Apparently someone at Apple confirmed 10.4 is coming, based on Apple responding to one of his beta bug reports.

I agree Apple has been releasing less function-packed but more frequent software releases, however am genuinely curious as to what is so urgent to warrant another release before iOS 11. Unless they're launching another major service offering, such as Apple Music and the new Music app, which commanded 8.4.

I wouldn't trust what a software engineer replies to a beta tester, I may be wrong but that's just my opinion.

Mmh, I could see 10.3.1 as the OTA-Update for 32bit devices only. Currently 10.3 is only available via iTunes for 32bit devices. Maybe something in the OTA mechanism has been laggy.

Otherwise: I have no clue, why we have 10.3.2 already in beta.
A new version number for this? New Build, ok. Not all iPhone 5 are affected, or?

There is no reason to not trust them as they are the ones working on the software itself.. They confirmed 10.2 to me before 10.1 even entered beta.

10.2 was kinda obvious, but maybe you're right. The thing is if they take 2-3 weeks to release 10.3.2 won't Apple push it with 10.4 ahead of 11 beta 1? One and a half months at best for a .X update is a bit pushy in my opinion. Especially if something goes wrong with it.

This is the reason, why I assume iOS 10.3.1 is only a 32bit compatible version and will not be available to 64-bit devices.... What happened during the (public) beta testing for 32bit compatible devices to take this step with 10.3? I'm still questioning on why Apple to decide to transfer now to APFS and why they did not wait until iOS 11?

I hope to get some answers during the key note prior WWDC.

No. You can´t get it, because it is German, Apple withdraw it OTA for iPhone 5/5C.
Well, that's what I'm alluding to: for those types of devices, was OTA ever there to begin with to be withdrawn, or simply wasn't made available OTA to begin with?

Why should they do that? My Dad did not complain yet. I did the Update via ITunes. As you can see www.giga.de has one possible explanation for the withdraw. On 32 bit devices Apples own services are listed as incompatible, under "Settings"> "Info"> "Apps"

Those aren't incompatible services, simply a listing of things that are 32-bit.

Well if that was a reason then why allow it via iTunes? How would only OTA update have anything to do with the new applications>compatibility reporting feature? Its simply reporting apps that may not be supported in a future version of iOS, doesn't stop them from working. Same issue if update via iTunes so seems that article is bunk.

Maybe Apple wants to assure, that the upgrade - and with APFS in iOS 10.3 it is more than a typical x.x update - works as expected. The update itself on a 64bit took longer than the normal iOS update due to the change to APFS.

Why there's no 10.3.1?

From what I'm hearing, it could be connected the announcement of Apple Pay coming to Italy/Belgium and heavy rumblings around the launch in Germany. As Europe (espacially Germany and Italy) has different debit card system than the US or Canada, those cards are currently not compatible to Apple Pay. There are also some rumours that this affects France and Spain as well.

So Apple wants to hide this change until the direct start of Apple Pay in the mentioned countries. Apple does not support those cards in France/Ireland/Italy/Spain (eurozone-countries). Apple can implement in an under-the-hood bug fix and security release which could be released right until the announced start.

With that being said, Germany is not a typical credit card country, it's more debit card (mainly to withdraw money from the ATM) and even more a cash country. If you want to implement Apple Pay in Germany you need to support the local systems. Otherwise it is disaster for Apple, because the market size is too small.

Remember: Dating back to October 2014, prior to the start of Apple pay there was an 8.1 release necessary to set up Apple Pay

Hmm... I see two lists on our iPad, first, those apps which are compatible (Apple Services as well, strange!), second those who are not, only one: Eurovision.
