Magic is the best. It blocks everything and doesn't break anything. It loads everything just as fast if not faster than Purify. The only thing is I feel like it makes scrolling on a website a bit jerky. It's not as smooth as it is on Purify. Turning on social blocking makes it way too jerky, I had to keep that one off, but that was the case with Purify as well. Regardless, I've deleted Purify and I'm using Magic now. Nice work!

Edit:

On second thought, maybe it is just as smooth. I'm having a hard time telling frankly, which should tell you how minimal it is, if it exists at all. I'd like to hear other comments about the smoothness of scrolling. But like I said, this app is the best ad blocker I've come across, and I've gone through a lot.

This is the official account for Magic on Macrumors. Let us know if you have any questions!

Cheers.

Hey Magic :)

I just tried the app. I'm curious, though: If the app is free, how are you supporting yourself and your team financially? Are there plans in the future to monetize the app in some way?

Thanks for your thoughts

Reactions: Magic App and JM
I used to use purify, but I got in touch with a new app coming out soon called magic app (@getmagicapp on twitter). Currently beta testing it, seems very promising both features and loving speeds in safari. I'm sure you'll get an beta invite on twitter if you ask for it
Thanks again for this post.
I did beta the Magic app. The developer is great. The app is my favourite. Speedy, fluid and the sites look clean.
It is our AdBlocker of choice.

Crystal's been updated. No acceptable ads settings yet.

I'm going to have to start deleting some ad blocker apps on my phone. I have way too many sitting idle in a folder.

Magic seems pretty good. There are some sites I'd get blank pages with purify but magic loads just fine. My biggest complaint is it doesn't update the blocklist in the background. It seems the list gets updated every day or every other day which is awesome, but having to manually open the app and update the list is a hassle. Once they allow background app refreshing of the blocklist then I will be able to say it's the best adblocker.

Which ad blocker apps are people favouring at the moment? I'm not sure who the currently perceived 'best' are. Having tried a few - Crystal, Purify, Adblock Fast, Adblock Multi, 1Blocker, Magic and one or two more - I've given up trying to find one that does everything I want.

I'm currently running Crystal (solid ad blocking) in combination with a cookie blocker called Cookie Box (since Crystal doesn't do that and the developer hasn't responded to tweets).

Personally, I use Adguard. No complaints and I was already happy with their OS X Safari extension.

I would vouch for Magic at the moment. Having paid for Peace, Purify and 1Blocker, and tried Adblock Fast, Adguard, Ad-blocker by Mobotap, it's quite clear that Magic is the overall best in terms of number of ads blocked, speed, and not breaking the webpages.

The only complaint I have with Magic is that the site I've reported has not been fixed yet, and neither have I heard from the developer so far. This is a minor issue, given that Magic works great on other sites I'm frequenting, and the developers are probably too busy with other requests right now.

Can anyone suggest an Ad Blocker for iPad Mini (1st gen.) with iOS 9.1?
Apps in App Store don't seem to be compatible.
Someone suggested earlier in this thread that they all require a 64 bit processor and that the original iPad Mini is 32 bit...????
Any ideas anyone?
