Another quirk I've noticed with Magic is that it doesn't always remove advertisement indicators and placeholder boxes. For example, on Huffington Post articles, ad images/banners themselves are removed, but I can still see the word "Advertisement" along with two grey lines above and below where the ad would have been. Purify seems to remove such objects more often than not.

Update blocklist and try again :) All white spaces after ads should be gone.

More impressions from Magic:

- found a couple more issues. Some stuttering and lag on Amazon when scrolling through some searches (happened when scrolling through search results for "Sword art online" in Kindle store and "fantasy" in video games) but they are aware and looking into it.
Edit: Sorry! Forgot to mention that the Amazon issues is only present on iPad. I did not have any issues with stuttering or lag when doing the exact same searches on my iPhone. Both devices were on iOS 9.1.

- videos aren't playing on IGN or GameSpot but I've been told that the problem has basically been found and will be fixed in a couple days.

- blank ad boxes were found on IGN. Reported it on Twitter and was fixed in just a few minutes. Was super impressed by the turnaround time.

- occasionally some websites don't finish loading but easily do so after a refresh. Not sure if it's completely on the blocker as hotel wifi isn't exactly the best nor completely reliable.

It's about on par with some of the currently available blockers. However, the big differentiator for me right now is that Magic seems to have a pretty good base to build off of and the dev is extremely responsive when you report issues. That latter is extremely important to me based on my past experiences with other content blockers and despite its few issues, I'm getting more and more infatuated with Magic.

Same here with magic. Great support. Needs work though
True, it does, but I'd argue most of the ones available now need work as well. The really good support will lead to it being a great blocker, as long as it remains consistent even after release and people are not burned by prior experiences elsewhere and report issues to ensure improvements can be made.

I decided to give Magic Adblock a go last night. Contacted developer via twitter and was promptly invited to test the beta version. I must admit I was taken by surprise that how good this Adblocker is. Ive used both Purify and Crystal . Magic Adblock is way superior than them two. It works flawlessly for my needs. Safari is quick and it blocks all them annoying ads whilst watching football streams. Browsing through my fav webpages is quicker and smoother. I use minimal host blocker on one of my JB iphone. In comparison safari is a lot quicker on iPhone using Magic Adblock. Credit to the developer for an excellent support through out this whole beta testing. I will be installing Magic Adblock on all my devices when it released to the public on app store. Looking forward to it.

Thanks
Sal

I've been testing magic also and it's definitely up there with purify and the top content blockers. However, my one complaint is that I've noticed a pretty substantial difference of page loading times specifically on this site. Purify loads it quick and flawlessly, magic loads it flawlessly with no leftover spaces but it takes much longer to completely load the pages

The latest beta is loading this site quickly here?

Best ad blocker that I've used that actually blocks all ads & doesn't break sites is Halcyon & NeverAds
I tried Neverads. It seems it requires the user to rate the app before it will display the "Enable" button (see App Store screenshots and user reviews). How can the user rate an app before they are able to determine its effectiveness? I refused to rate it as it would have been a less than factual rating. Uninstalled.

I downloaded it fine & it worked, never asked me to rate it & try re-downloading it

Is this the one you installed?

Other reviews state that a rating is required before the app can be enabled.

I went to setting, safari then enabled it in content blocker. Halcyon is much better than NeverAds thou, It blocks much more stuff. Been using it for 5 days now, love it. Give it a try
I fear you missed the point.

I'll stick with Purify, thank you.

Kept going between 1Blocker and Purify, and nowadays sticking with 1Blocker because it loads pages faster. Anyone else AB-ing both?

1Blocker terrible at removing ads and in particular - white spaces. Why even bother to use it? :) Speed more important?

I gave Purify another try one moment ago and no, all my reported sites have not been fixed. Can you believe that even disney.de is not loading with purify turned on? So at least 1Blocker is keeping me happy for now.

I've been waiting to use your app and followed your tweets since a long time ago... but "waiting for Apple's approval" became "releasing in a few days' time", and then releasing soon, which unfortunately didn't happen again lol. I don't intend to use TestFlight for the moment though. So I went for 1Blocker which is good at ad-blocking without breaking certain sites like Purify did.

Speed is important but it needs not be lightning fast, I won't be able to tell if it's 200ms slower than the best of the class content blocker, for example... but 2-3 seconds slower is definitely noticeable. White space removal is good to have, but I would rank it below effective ad blocking and not breaking the sites.
