Has anyone else noticed, that problem sites reported in app (Purify) still haven't been fixed since the last app update?

I noticed and just quit using it.

I've been flipping back and forth between Ad Block Multi and AdMop.

None of the sites I have ever reported have been fixed. Not sure if it breaks the components of the site due to tracking or whatever, but considering there has been no feedback even when I've mentioned it in threads here and directed it at Chris, it's somewhat disheartening.

It still works well for other sites but I've begun to consider looking into other content blockers based on this... have heard good things about Silentium and Ad Block Multi...

Seeing how there are other apps we have seen that provide prompt updates, I may end up looking elsewhere as well, not to mention amending my latest review for Purify. Given that we can state specifically what the problem(s) were with the sites in question, Chris can't say he didn't know.

If there is a problem with the app and it is being looked into, at least come here and say so (and Twitter). I have kept Purify running in the background and it states it has been updated on a regular basis but, I haven't seen the fruition of said updates as it pertains to problem sites.

If a man has time to promote his app and media interviews on Twitter, he has time to come here and speak with his customers, in my opinion. You hear me, Chris?

Edited to add: I never did get a reply on Twitter or here about joining the beta, and that has been well over a week ago.

I've been flipping back and forth between Ad Block Multi and AdMop.

I'm using just AdMop right now as its the most bug free of the ones I have installed.

Ad Block Multi is pretty good too, but on some sites, I get the bug where sometimes multiple entries end up in the "back history" for Safari. For example, when I follow a link..I've gotten 3-4 duplicate entries for the same page that goes to the back button (I check by long pressing the back button). Then to go back, I'd need to hit back like 3-4 times to actually go back to the previous page. It made surfing the web very annoying cause I can't go back in history like how it should be. I don't know if this happened to anyone else, but I've submitted a bug report and will just wait for an update.

Any updates on a review for Adguard? It's free and has the most settings for blocking content. I used it for a while in a PC but it slowed my internet connection a lot.

don't know, but Forbes and and CNN websites, reported as not loading in the review, are now working just fine on my iPhone

I'm looking for alternatives besides Purify. It seems that Purify's machine-learning backend isn't working as well as expected. I had repeatedly reported several sites with every new version release, but none of them was fixed until now.

Does anyone have experience with the latest version of Adamant or 1Blocker? They rank high on The Brooks Review: https://brooksreview.net/2015/09/update-334_71/

Hi everyone! I've used Crystal since iOS 9 came out and haven't really lost much time determining how well it works...
Recently came across 1Blocker on the App Store, and wanted to know what the general opinion on it is? Worth the £2.29?
If not, what would the best option be?
Thanks in advance!
Tried both, didn't really find a difference. That said, Crystal works a little better on the websites I visit (for example, 1blocker screws up the comments section in Cnet, but not crystal because I was part of the crystal beta team and requested that it be fixed).

At $2, it shouldn't break the bank for you, but personally, Crystal works well enough for me and I don't see any real need to switch.

Same here, many of the sites I have reported (several times) have never been fixed. I switched to AdMop, and have been very happy since!

Being a 1Blocker user, it definitely is worth it's price. The true power of it comes from it's ability to add custom packages that can be shared with other users, in these packages are custom block lists that you can create on the fly. (No more needing to contact the author of the app to update their block list to block an add for your particular site, you can do it right then and there.) Also, there is the ability to hide HTML elements, e.g., you don't want to look at an annoying side bar, poof you can hide it automatically.

The caveat is, these are things that you need to learn how to use like any software. Most users will probably not even touch these powerful options as it's geared to power users. That said, even without using these features it's a powerful content blocker to just turn on and go, there have been plenty of articles out there that will attest to this.

Cheers!

Went back last night and tried a few of the free blockers I still had installed.

Refine didn't break the videos on giantbomb.com and nfl.com looked fine, but videos would not play. Same results with AdMop when I had ad blocking, Chinese blocking and tracking blocked.

Adblocker by Mobotap (the free version) kept functionality for both giantbomb and nfl.com and seemed to block some annoying pop-ups on Techradar, which not even Purify did before. Think it might be my go-to for now...

I used to use purify, but I got in touch with a new app coming out soon called magic app (@getmagicapp on twitter). Currently beta testing it, seems very promising both features and loving speeds in safari. I'm sure you'll get an beta invite on twitter if you ask for it

I got in the beta. Have to say I'm really impressed. It's the fastest I have tried to date (I have every paid & free content blocker) and it's the only one that successfully blocked EU cookies. The developer is also easy to get in touch with.

Either Purify is too aggressive or the developer isn't getting to these issues.

I've been running AdMop as well.

I've been trying sites with Magic this afternoon. The speed sites load is noticeable compared to other blockers.
After abandoning Purify and other apps I went back to Peace. I will now keep Magic on.

I'm beta testing Magic as well.

My initial observations are, I'm very impressed. Websites load super quickly, and it doesn't load blank pages. The Developer is very receptive to feedback. I've given him a few recommendations and he's all ears. This one is very promising.
